Two-dimensional metal carbide or nitride materials(MXenes)are widely used in electromagnetic wave absorption because of their unique structure.Herein,a novel composite preparation strategy has been proposed to design dendritic nanofibers based on the electrostatic spinning methods.The multifunctional MXene nanosheets are used as the dendritic matrix,and magnetic nanoparticles are embedded in the nanosheets as magnetic loss units.Multidimensional nanocomposites have interlaced carbon fiber networks,large-scale magnetically coupled networks,and a lot of multi-heterojunction interface structures,which endow the composites with extraordinary conduction loss,magnetic loss,and polarization loss capabilities,respectively.The impedance matching and loss mechanisms of the composites are improved by optimizing the synergistic relationship between the components and building a suitable structure.The optimum reflection loss(RL)of−54.1 dB is achieved at 2.7 mm and a wide effective absorption bandwidth(EAB,RL below−10 dB)of 7.76 GHz is obtained at a small thickness of 2.1 mm for the nanocomposites.The distinctive microstructures of the nanofibrous membranes give rise to their flexibility,waterproof,and electromagnetic wave absorption performance and endow the nanofibrous membranes potential to be utilized as lightweight,efficient electromagnetic wave protective fabric in harsh environment.

The space-air-ground integrated network(SAGIN)has gained widespread attention from academia and industry in recent years.It is widely applied in many practical fields such as global observation and mapping,intelligent transportation systems,and military missions.As an information carrier of air platforms,the deployment strategy of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)is essential for communication systems’performance.In this paper,we discuss a UAV broadcast coverage strategy that can maximize energy efficiency(EE)under terrestrial users’requirements.Due to the non-convexity of this issue,conventional approaches often solve with heuristics algorithms or alternate optimization.To this end,we propose an iterative algorithm by optimizing trajectory and power allocation jointly.Firstly,we discrete the UAV trajectory into several stop points and propose a user grouping strategy based on the traveling salesman problem(TSP)to acquire the number of stop points and the optimization range.Then,we use the Dinkelbach method to dispose of the fractional form and transform the original problem into an iteratively solvable convex optimization problem by variable substitution and Taylor approximation.Numerical results validate our proposed solution and outperform the benchmark schemes in EE and mission completion time.

Are activated astrocytes pro-excitatory in epilepsy?The answer tends to be"yes"with cumulative evidence proposing that astrocytic activation leads to hyperexcitability through excitatory transmitter release or neuroinflammatory pathways[1-3].But a very recent study published in Nature Communications by Zhao J et al.has refreshed this viewpoint by showing that optogenetic activation of astrocytes can alleviate neocortical seizures(a type of epileptic symptom that originates in the neocortex which is part of the external surface layer of the brain)through astrocytic Na^(+)-K^(+)-ATPase in animal models[4](Fig.1).

Estrogen impacts neural development;meanwhile, it has a protective effect on the brain. Bisphenols, primarily bisphenol A (BPA), can exert estrogen-like or estrogen-interfering effects by binding with estrogen receptors. Extensive studies have suggested that neurobehavioral problems, such as anxiety and depression, can be caused by exposure to BPA during neural development. Increasing attention has been paid to the effects on learning and memory of BPA exposure at different developmental stages and in adulthood. Further research is required to elucidate whether BPA increases the risk of neurodegenerative diseases and the underlying mechanisms, as well as to assess whether BPA analogs, such as bisphenol S and bisphenol F, influence the nervous system.

RICE INDETERMINATE 1(RID1)plays a critical role in controlling floral transition in rice(Oryza sativa).However,the molecular basis for this effect,particularly the target genes and regulatory specificity,remains largely unclear.Here,we performed chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by sequencing(ChIP-seq)in young leaves at the pre-floral-transition stage to identify the target genes of RID1,identifying 2,680 genes associated with RID1 binding sites genome-wide.RID1 binding peaks were highly enriched for TTTGTC,the direct binding motif of the INDETERMINATE DOMAIN protein family that includes RID1.Interestingly,CACGTG and GTGGGCCC,two previously uncharacterized indirect binding motifs,were enriched through the interactions of RID1 with the novel floweringpromoting proteins OsPIL12 and OsTCP11,respectively.Moreover,the ChIP-seq data demonstrated that RID1 bound to numerous rice heading-date genes,such as HEADING DATE1(HD1)and FLAVIN-BINDING,KELCH REPEAT,F-BOX 1(OsFKF1).Notably,transcriptome sequencing(RNA-seq)analysis revealed roles of RID1 in diverse developmental pathways.Genetic analysis combined with genome-wide ChIP-seq and RNA-seq results showed that RID1 directly binds to the promoter of OsERF#136(a repressor of rice flowering)and negatively regulates its expression.Overall,our findings provide new insights into the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying rice floral transition and characterize OsERF#136 as a previously unrecognized direct target of RID1.

Quantitative Extraction of p-Coumaric Acid and Ferulic Acid in Different Gramineous Materials and Structural Changes of Residual Alkali Lignin

Ferulic acid(FA)and p-coumaric acid(pCA)in bagasse,wheat straw,corn straw,and corncob were extracted by alkaline hydrolysis and characterized by gas chromatography(GC)and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).It was found that the FA and most of the pCA in gramineous biomass could be dissociated and released after being treated with 1 M NaOH at 100℃for 4 h.The yields of pCA/FA in bagasse,wheat straw,corn straw,and corncob determined by GC-FID are 39.8/11.5,13.7/11.0,28.0/11.0,and 35.1/14.5 mg/g,respectively.The raw materials and the treated solid residues were characterized by gel-state 2D Heteronuclear Single Quantum Coherence Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(2D HSQC NMR).It was found that only a small amount of lignin was detected in the residue after alkali treatment,indicating that the alkali treatment conditions can effectively cleave the FA and pCA.Additionally,the lignin in the alkali solution was recovered and characterized by 2D HSQC NMR.The FA was not able to be detected by NMR,whereas a small amount of pCA remained in the alkali lignin.This study reveals the structural change of residual lignins during the quantitative isolation of FA and pCA,which is essential for the selective isolation of pCA/FA and valorization of residual alkali lignin.

With the extensive development of nanozymes in recent years,catalytic efficiency has been considered as the Gordian knot that restricts the further applications of nanozyme.Moreover,the usage of layered double hydroxides(LDHs)as antioxidant nanozymes for scavenging reactive oxygen species(ROS)has not been studied.Herein,we report a vacancies-rich monolayer cobalt-alumina LDH nanosheet(m-CoAl-LDH)through a facile direct synthesis method as an efficient nanozyme with superoxide dismutase(SOD)-like activity.The m-CoAl-LDH exhibits a record-breaking catalytic efficiency with the catalytic constant(Kcat)as high as 4.33×10^(11)M^(−1)·s−1.Elucidated by the experimental and theoretical studies,the abundant oxygen and metal vacancies were existed in the single layer for the outstanding performance owing to the increased active sites.In addition,density functional theory(DFT)calculations further reveal the significant role of synergistic effect of oxygen and metal vacancies in reducing the adsorption energy of superoxide(O_(2)^(•−)),which improves the catalytic performance.The m-CoAl-LDH nanosheets were applied in cells to relieving the oxidative damage caused by O_(2)^(•−)in mitochondria.Such vacancy-rich monolayer CoAl-LDH nanosheets represent the first example of LDH nanozyme with specific SOD-like activity as well as record high catalytic efficiency,which may provide deeper insight into efficient nanozyme design by defect-engineering.
