Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common malignancies and remains the second leading cause of cancer-related death *** is an increasing understanding of the roles that genetic and epigenetic alterations play in *** studies using nextgeneration sequencing(NGS)have revealed a number of potential cancer-driving genes in ***-exome sequencing of GC has identified recurrent somatic mutations in the chromatin remodeling gene ARID1A and alterations in the cell adhesion gene FAT4,a member of the cadherin gene *** in chromatin remodeling genes(ARID1A,MLL3 and MLL)have been found in 47%of ***-genome sequencing and whole-transcriptome sequencing analyses have also discovered novel alterations in *** studies of cancer epigenetics have revealed widespread alterations in genes involved in the epigenetic machinery,such as DNA methylation,histone modifications,nucleosome positioning,noncoding RNAs and *** advances in molecular research on GC have resulted in the introduction of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies into clinical *** antihuman epidermal growth receptor 2(HER2)antibody trastuzumab has led to an era of personalized therapy in *** addition,ramucirumab,a monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor(VEGFR)-2,is the first biological treatment that showed survival benefits as a single-agent therapy in patients with advanced GC who progressed after firstline *** NGS to systematically identify gene alterations in GC is a promising approach with remarkable potential for investigating the pathogenesis of GC and identifying novel therapeutic targets,as well as useful *** this review,we will summarize the recent advances in the understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of GC,focusing on the potential use of these genetic and epigenetic alterations as diagnostic biomarkers and novel therapeutic targets.

Successful endoscopic fragmentation of large hardened fecaloma using jumbo forceps

We present a rare case of fecaloma, 7 cm in size, in the setting of systemic scleroderma. A colonoscopy revealed a giant brown fecaloma occupying the lumen of the colon and a colonic ulcer that was caused by the fecaloma. The surface of the fecaloma was hard, large and slippery, and fragmentation was not possible despite the use of various devices, including standard biopsy forceps, an injection needle, and a snare. However, jumbo forceps were able to shave the surface of the fecaloma and break it successfully by repeated biting for 6 h over 2 d. The ability of the jumbo forceps to collect large mucosal samples was also appropriate for achieving fragmentation of the giant fecaloma.

Enteral metallic stenting by balloon enteroscopy for obstruction of surgically reconstructed intestine

We present three cases of self-expandable metallic stent(SEMS) placement using a balloon enteroscope(BE) and its overtube(OT) for malignant obstruction of surgically reconstructed intestine. A BE is effective for the insertion of an endoscope into the deep bowel. However, SEMS placement is impossible through the working channel, because the working channel of BE is too small and too long for the stent device. Therefore, we used a technique in which the BE is inserted as far as the stenotic area; thereafter, the BE is removed, leaving only the OT, and then the stent is placed by inserting the stent device through the OT. In the present three cases, a modification of this technique resulted in the successful placement of the SEMS for obstruction of surgically reconstructed intestine, and the procedures were performed without serious complications. We consider that the present procedure is extremely effective as a palliative treatment for distal bowel stenosis, such as in the surgically reconstructed intestine.

Numerical analysis on element creation by nuclear transmutation of fission products

A burnup calculation was performed to analyze the Apr`es ORIENT process, which aims to create highlyvaluable elements from fission products separated from spent nuclear fuels. The basic idea is to use nuclear transmutation induced by a neutron capture reaction followed by a β-decay, thus changing the atomic number Z of a target element in fission products by 1 unit. LWR(PWR) and FBR(MONJU) were considered as the transmutation devices. High rates of creation were obtained in some cases of platinum group metals(44Ru by FBR,46 Pd by LWR) and rare earth(64Gd by LWR,66 Dy by FBR). Therefore, systems based on LWR and FBR have their own advantages depending on target elements. Furthermore, it was found that creation rates of even Z(= Z + 1) elements from odd Z ones were higher than the opposite cases. This creation rate of an element was interpreted in terms of "average 1-group neutron capture cross section of the corresponding target element σc Z defined in this work. General trends of the creation rate of an even(odd) Z element from the corresponding odd(even) Z one were found to be proportional to the 0.78th(0.63th) power of σc Z, however with noticeable dispersion. The difference in the powers in the above analysis was explained by the difference in the number of stable isotopes caused by the even-odd effect of Z.

Resourceability on nuclear fuel cycle by transmutation approach

A resourceability on nuclear fuel cycle by transmutation of fission products in the spent fuel of nuclear reactors is discussed in this paper to investigate the feasibility of ＂creation and utilization＂ of Apr6s ORIENT from Adv.-ORIENT cycle, in which chemical ＂separation and utilization＂ of nuclear rare metals （platinum group metals, Mo, Tc, rare earth, etc.） has been proposed since FY2006. Apr6s ORIENT research program was newly initiated in FY2011 for nuclear transmutation of fission products into stable or short-lived highly-valuable elements. In the resourceability of rare earth metals from fission products, non-radioactive Nd and Dy can be created from Pr and Tb, respectively, by transmutation. Especially, the Dy creation has relatively high feasibility of about 10-20 %/y in creation rate. A proper moderation of neutrons in blanket of fast reactors may be required to provide a high creation rate of La from Ba. In light platinum group metals, non-radioactive Ru can be created from Tc by transmutation, of which creation rate is about 4-5 %/y in blanket of fast reactors. Pd created from Rh is almost non-radioactively depending on the isotope fraction of 107pd. Rh creation from Ru is not feasible under the neutron irradiation of typical nuclear reactors.

Obfuscation is rampant in both benign and malicious JavaScript(JS)*** generates an obscure and undetectable code that hinders comprehension and ***,accurate detection of JS codes that masquerade as innocuous scripts is *** existing deobfuscation methods assume that a specific tool can recover an original JS code *** a multi-layer obfuscation,general tools realize a formatted JS code,but some sections remain *** the detection of such codes,this study performs Deobfuscation,Unpacking,and Decoding(DUD-preprocessing)by function redefinition using a Virtual Machine(VM),a JS code editor,and a python int_to_str()function to facilitate feature learning by the FastText *** learned feature vectors are passed to a classifier model that judges the maliciousness of a JS *** performance evaluation,the authors use the Hynek Petrak’s dataset for obfuscated malicious JS codes and the SRILAB dataset and the Majestic Million service top 10,000 websites for obfuscated benign JS *** then compare the performance to other models on the detection of DUD-preprocessed obfuscated malicious JS *** experimental results show that the proposed approach enhances feature learning and provides improved accuracy in the detection of obfuscated malicious JS codes.

We report a method for laser-assisted electrophoretic deposition using a Laguerre-Gaussian beam for maskless patterning of metal rings and *** are structures of utmost importance,particularly in photonic *** nanoparticles,which are gathered in a colloidal solution by a laser trapping technique,are deposited on a substrate via *** deposition pattern is dependent on the focused spot shape during laser *** intensity distribution of the Laguerre-Gaussian beam is *** with different inner diameters can be fabricated by varying the topological charge of the Laguerre-Gaussian *** equivalent inner diameters of the deposited rings with topological charges of 1,3,and 5 were 0.30,0.78,and 1.45μm,*** inner diameter of the deposited ring with a topological charge of 1 was smaller than the wavelength of the laser beam(532 nm).A tube was also fabricated with a topological charge of 3 by vertical displacement of the deposition *** deposition technology developed here using Laguerre-Gaussian beam will contribute to advancements in the fabrication of photonic and nano-fluidic devices.

Van Vleck paramagnetism of europium oxyhydroxide

Europium oxyhydroxide crystals were synthesized by the flux method. The as-grown crystals were transparent and had a plate-like shape with natural flat surfaces. The powder XRD data were refined by assuming a monoclinic structure of the space group P21/m and lattice parameters of a=0.4346 nm, b=0.3744 nm, c=0.6107 nm, and β=108.62°. The magnetic susceptibility of the EuOOH crystals exhibited typical Van Vleck temperature-independent paramagnetism below 120 K. The calculated susceptibility, based on Van Vleck＇s theory, agreed with the experimental data to some extent, with the coupling constant λ=458±10 K. The experimental results were in close agreement with the results calculated using a modified formula with λ=505±2 K and a constant term C=4.6×10^-4 emu/（mol·Oe）.

Efficient high harmonics generation by enhancement cavity driven with a post-compressed FCPA laser at 10 MHz

Efficient high harmonics generation(HHG) was demonstrated at 10 MHz repetition rate with an external femtosecond enhancement cavity, seeded by a ～70 fs post-compressed 10 MHz fiber chirped pulse amplifier(FCPA) laser. Operation lasting over 30 min with 0.1 m W outcoupled power at 149 nm was demonstrated. It was found that shorter pulse was beneficial for alleviating the nonlinear plasma effect and improving the efficiency of HHG. Low finesse cavity can relax the plasma nonlinearity clamped intra-cavity power and improve the cavity-locking stability. The pulse duration is expected to be below 100 fs for both 1040 nm and 149 nm outputs, making it ideal for applications such as time-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.
