This review aims at providing synthetic information with scientific evidence on the trends in the malaria events from 1960 to 2011,with the hope that it will help policy makers to take informed decisions on public health issues and intervention designs on malaria control towards elimination in both Sub-Sahara Africa and in the People’s Republic of China by highlighting the achievements,progress and challenges in research on moving malaria from epidemic status towards *** findings showed that since 1960,malaria control programmes in most countries have been disjointed and not ***,during the last decade,the causal factors of the unprecedented and substantial decline in malaria morbidity and mortality rates in most vulnerable groups in these endemic areas are multifaceted,including not only the spread of malaria and its related effects but also political and financial willingness,commitment and funding by governments and international *** benefits of scaling up the impact of malaria coverage interventions,improvement of health system approaches and sustained commitment of stakeholders are highlighted,although considerable efforts are still necessary in Sub-Sahara ***,novel integrated control strategies aiming at moving malaria from epidemic status to control towards elimination,require solid research priorities both for sustainability of the most efficient existing tools and intervention coverage,and in gaining more insights in the understanding of the epidemiology,pathogenesis,vector dynamics,and socioeconomic aspects of the *** conclusion,political commitment and financial investment of stakeholders in sustaining the scaling up impact of malaria control interventions,networking between African and Chinese scientists,and their Western partners are urgently needed in upholding the recent gains,and in translating lessons learnt from the Chinese malaria control achievements and successes into practical interve

Background:The China-Myanmar border region presents a great challenge in malaria elimination in China,and it is essential to understand the relationship between malaria vulnerability and population mobility in this ***:A community-based,cross-sectional survey was performed in five villages of Yingjiang county during September ***-prick blood samples were obtained to identify asymptomatic infections,and imported cases were identified in each village(between January 2013 and September 2016).A stochastic simulation model(SSM)was used to test the relationship between population mobility and malaria vulnerability,according to the mechanisms of malaria ***:Thirty-two imported cases were identified in the five villages,with a 4-year average of 1 case/year(range:0-5 cases/year).No parasites were detected in the 353 blood samples from *** median density of malaria vulnerability was 0.012(range:0.000-0.033).The average proportion of mobile members of the study population was 32.56%(range:28.38-71.95%).Most mobile individuals lived indoors at night with mosquito *** SSM model fit the investigated data(χ2=0.487,P=0.485).The average probability of infection in the members of the population that moved to Myanmar was 0.011(range:0.0048-0.1585).The values for simulated vulnerability increased with greater population mobility in each ***:A high proportion of population mobility was associated with greater malaria vulnerability in the China-Myanmar border *** population-specific measures should be used to decrease the risk of malaria re-establishment in China.

Recent development in electrode design for wide-temperature supercapacitors

An ever-increasing market demand has stimulated the soaring enthusiasm of researchers to develop wide-temperature supercapacitors(SCs). The active electrode is one of the most important parts of SC, which is directly related to the energy density,power transmission and long-term cyclability of the device in the wide-temperature environment. Compared with the SC electrodes aimed for room-temperature application, the SC electrodes for operating at wide-temperature scene often face greater challenges. In this review, the main challenges of SC electrodes under various temperature conditions, including low, high and cross-fade temperatures, are summarized. The relevant performance decay and failure mechanisms of wide-temperature SC electrodes are analyzed. In addition, this review deals with the recent studies and developments in robust wide-temperature SC electrodes with respect to the rational design of electrode structures and the exploitation of advanced active materials. Finally, the future directions for exploring reliable wide-temperature SCs are also proposed.
