Exposure to lead and dietary furan intake aggravates hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular axis toxicity in chronic experimental rats

Lead(Pb) and furan are toxic agents, and persistent exposure may impair human and animal reproductive funct.on. We therefore explored the effects of Pb and furan on male rat hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal reproductive status, oxidative stress, inflammat.on, and genomic integrity. We found that co-exposure to Pb and furan reduced the activities of testicular funct.on enzymes, endogenous ant.oxidant levels, total sulfhydryl group,and glutathione. Sperm abnormality, biomarkers of oxidative stress, inflammat.on, and p53 expression were increased in a dose-dependent manner by treatment with furan and Pb. typical rat gonad histoarchitecture features were also damaged. Conclusively, co-exposure to Pb and furan induced male reproductive funct.on derangement by decreasing the ant.oxidant defences in rats, increasing abnormalities in spermatozoa morphology, and reducing reproductive hormone in circulat.on. these pat.ophysiological alterat.ons, if persistent, might provide a permissive environment for potentiating reproductive dysfunct.on and infertility.

t.o new sporopollenin-immobilized Schiff bases,S-[N-(2-aminoetil) salicylaldiimino] and S-[N-(2-aminoetil) benzaldiimino],and their cobalt(III) and nickel(II) complexes,S-[N-(2-aminoetil) benzaldiimino] aquatriacetato cobalt(III),S-[N-(2-aminoetil) salicylaldiimino] aquadiacetato cobalt(III),S-[N-(2-aminoetil) benzaldiimino] diacetato nickel(II),and S-[N-(2-aminoetil) salicylaldiimino] diacetato nickel(II),were synthesized onto a chemically modified sporopollenin with *** immobilized ligands and their metal complexes were characterized by thermal analysis and spect.oscopic techniques such as infrared,ultraviolet-visible,and atomic absorpt.on *** Schiff base metal complexes,S-[N-(2-aminoetil) benzaldiimino] aquatriacetato cobalt(III) and S-[N-(2-aminoetil) salicylaldiimino] aquadiacetato cobalt(III),were used as ligand exchanger media to investigate ligand adsorpt.on behavior of methylene blue(MB) with column *** result shows that the chelat.on of methylene blue with S-[N-(2-aminoetil) salicylaldiimino] aquadiacetato cobalt(III) complex increases ligand adsorpt.on capacity.

Blighia sapida(***)***(Family Sapindaceae)is a branchless straight bole approximately 15 m in *** study evaluated the ant.oxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of ethanol extract and fract.ons of *** stem-bark using in vit.o *** extract and its fract.ons were investigated for 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)radical scavenging activity,ferric reducing ant.oxidant power(FRAP),total ant.oxidant capacity(tAC),and quantitative phenolic and flavonoid ***-inflammatory activity was evaluated using albumin denaturat.on and membrane stabilizat.on *** extract and its fract.ons exhibited radical scavenging and anti-inflammatory *** ethyl acetate fract.on possessed maximum phenolic and flavonoid contents(136.67±1.55 gallic acid equivalent mg/g and 75.76±4.03 quercetin equivalent mg/g,respectively).Ant.oxidant studies revealed that the ethyl acetate fract.on displayed superior activity with an IC_(50)=0.09±0.03 mg/mL DPPH,and values of 146.96±3.81 ascorbic acid equivalent(AAE)mg/g and 359.20±4.98 AAE mg/g for FRAP and tAC,***,the anti-inflammatory activity was revealed by inhibit.on of heatinduced albumin denaturat.on and red blood cell membrane stabilizat.on at concentrat.ons of 200 -1000 mg/mL and 50-250 mg/mL,*** ethanol extract and fract.ons exhibited ant.oxidant and anti-inflammatory activities,with ethyl acetate fract.on showing superior activity,which could be attributed to secondary metabolites,mainly phenolic ***,the ant.oxidant and antiinflammatory activities of *** can be exploited by ethnomedicinal users.

A corrosion resistant CuNi cladding was deposited on SM45C (equivalent to AISI1045) substrate by DC inverse arc welding. During the welding process, a three channel acoustic emission (AE) monitoring system was applied to detect the crack signals generating from both the cladding process and after cladding. Characteristics of the welding crack signal and noise signal had been analyzed systematically. Based on the record time of the signal, the solidificat.on crack and delayed crack were distinguished. By t.o-dimensional AE source locat.on, the crack posit.on was located, and then investigated by scanning elect.on microscopy (SEM). Results showed that the AE system could detect the welding crack with high sensitivity and the t.o-dimensional source locat.on could accurately determine the crack posit.on. Microstructures of the cladding and heat affected zone (HAZ) were examined. Dendrites in the cladding and coarse grains in the HAZ were found.

Madagascar,a major fragment.of Gondwana,is mainly composed of Precambrian basenent rocks formed by Mesoarchean to Neoproterozoic tectono-thernial events and recording a Pan-African metamorphic *** Ranotsara Shear Zone in southern Madagascar has been correlated with shear zones in southern India and eastern Africa in the reconstruct.on of the Gondwana *** we present detailed pet.ology,mineral chemistry,metamorphic P-t constraints using phase equilibrium modelling and zircon U-Pb geochronological data on high-grade metamorphic rocks from Ihosy within the Ranotsara Shear ***-cordierite gneiss from Ihosy experienced t.o stages of *** peak mineral assemblage is interpreted as garnet+sillimanite+cordierite+quartz+plagioclase+Kfeldspar+magnetite+spinel+ilmenite,which is overprinted by a ret.ograde mineral assemblage of biotite+garnet+cordierite+quartz+plagioclase+K-feldspar+magnetite+spinel+*** equilibria nodelling in the system Na2 o-Cao-K2 o-Feo-Mgo-Al2 o3-Sio2-H2 o-t.o2-Fe2 o3(NCKFMASHto)indicates peak metamorphic condit.ons of 850-960℃ and 6.9-77 kbar,and ret.ograde P-t.ondit.ons ofthat define a clockwise P-t ***-concordant ages of detrital zircon grains in the garnet-cordierite gneiss dominantly exhibit ages between 2030 Ma and 1784 Ma,indicating dominantly Paleoproterozoic *** lower intercept age of 514±33 Ma probably indicates the timing of high-grade metamorphism,which coincides with the assembly of the Gondwana *** comparable rock types,zircon ages and metamorphic P-t paths between the Ranotsara Shear Zone and the Achankovil Suture Zone in southern India support an interpretat.on that the Ranotsara Shear Zone is a continuat.on of the Achankovil Suture Zone.

Background： Expression levels for genes of interest must be normalized with an appropriate reference, or housekeeping gene, to make accurate comparisons of quantitative real-time PCR results. the purpose of this study was to identify the most stable housekeeping genes in porcine articular cartilage subjected to a mechanical injury from a panel of 10 candidate genes. Results： ten candidate housekeeping genes were evaluated in three different treatment groups of mechanically impacted porcine articular cartilage. the genes evaluated were： beta actin, beta-2-microglobulin, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, hydroxymethylbilane synthase, hypoxanthine phosphoribosyl transferase, peptidylprolyl isomerase A （cyclophilin A）, ribosomal protein L4, succinate dehydrogenase flavoprotein subunit A, tAtA box binding protein, and tyrosine 3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activat.on protein--zeta polypeptide the stability of the genes was measured using geNorm, BestKeeper, and NormFinder software. the four most stable genes measured via geNorm were （most to least stable） succinate dehydrogenase flavoprotein, subunit A, peptidylprolyl isomerase A, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, beta actin; the four most stable genes measured via BestKeeper were glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, peptidylprolyl isomerase A, beta actin, succinate dehydrogenase flavoprotein, subunit A; and the four most stable genes measured via NormFinder were peptidylprolyl isomerase A, sucdnate dehydrogenase flavoprotein, subunit A, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, beta actin. Conclusions： BestKeeper, geNorm, and NormFinder all generated similar results for the most stable genes in porcine articular cartilage. the use of these appropriate reference genes will facilitate accurate gene expression studies of porcine articular cartilage and suggest appropriate housekeeping genes for articular cartilage studies in other species.

ZnSe∶Mn nanocrystals were grown by chemical vapour transport met.od using the matrix of Sio2 aerogels. the cubic structure of the nanocrystals was confirmed by powder X-ray diffract.on (XRD) and elect.on diffract.on (ED) studies. the size of the crystals was observed using transmission elect.on microscope (tEM). the oxidat.on state of Mn in ZnSe nanocrystal was found using elect.on spin resonance (ESR) spectrum. the room temperature luminescence measurements show the peaks corresponding to both bandgap of the material and Mn in ZnSe.
