Origin of Quartz Cement in the Paleogene Sandstone Reservoir of Shahejie Formation,Bohai Bay Basin,China

The precipitation of authigenic quartz plays a significant role to reduce the reservoir characteristics and enhance the stiffness of the *** Es_(1) sandstone of Shahejie Formation is acting as a significant hydrocarbon producing rock in the Nanpu *** methods like thin section petrography,cathodoluminescence(CL),scanning electron microscope(SEM,with EDS),and electron microprobe analysis has been used to reveal the origin of quartz cement as well as to evaluate the effect of quartz cement on reservoir *** studied sandstone is classified as immature to mature feldspathic litharenite and lithic arkose and consists of quartz,feldspar,rock fragments and *** studies and SEM analysis shows that the authigenic quartz is acting a significant cement that reduces the reservoir *** clay minerals(kaolinite and mixed layer illite to smectite)are dominant in the Es_(1) sandstone,that can reduce the reservoir ***,CL and thin section analysis reveal that there are two stages of quartz cement in the studied samples;that are pore filling authigenic cement and quartz overgrowth *** inclusion homogenization temperatures shows that stages of quartz cement were developed with continuous process from 70℃ to 130℃.Quartz cements were generally originated from I/S reaction,feldspar dissolution,conversion of rock fragments and pressure *** dissolution(K-feldspar)and kaolinite to illite reaction is an insignificant silica source for the silica cement which is internally precipitated in a close system with diffusion transporting ***,quartz cement significantly enhance the rock strengthen and brittleness effectively as well as it reduce the overall reservoir quality.

Hepatosteatosis is characterized by abnormal accumulation of triglycerides(TG),leading to prolonged and chronic inflammatory *** date,there is still a lack of effective and economical therapies for ***(ORI)is a major bioactive component extracted from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb Rabdosia *** this paper,we showed that ORI exerted significant protective effects against hepatic steatosis,inflammation and fibrosis,which was dependent on LXRa *** is reported that LXRa regulated lipid homeostasis between triglyceride(TG)and phosphatidylethanolamine(PE)by promoting ATGL and EPT1 ***,we implemented the lipidomic strategy and luciferase reporter assay to verify that ORI contributed to the homeostasis of lipids via the regulation of the ATGL gene associated with TG hydrolysis and the EPT1 gene related to PE synthesis in a LXRadependent manner,and the results showed the TG reduction and PE *** detail,hepatic TG overload and lipotoxicity were reversed after ORI treatment by modulating the ATGL and EPT1 genes,*** together,the data provide mechanistic insights to explain the bioactivity of ORI in attenuating TG accumulation and cytotoxicity and introduce exciting opportunities for developing novel natural activators of the LXRa-ATGL/EPT1 axis for pharmacologically treating hepatosteatosis and metabolic disorders.

Ceria nanoparticles(CeO_(2) NPs)have become popular materials in biomedical and industrial fields due to their potential applications in anti-oxidation,cancer therapy,photocatalytic degradation of pollutants,sensors,*** methods,including gas phase,solid phase,liquid phase,and the newly proposed green synthesis method,have been reported for the synthesis of CeO_(2) *** to the wide application of CeO_(2) NPs,concerns about their adverse impacts on human health have been *** review covers recent studies on the biomedical applications of CeO_(2) NPs,including their use in the treatment of various diseases(e.g.,Alzheimer's disease,ischemic stroke,retinal damage,chronic inflammation,and cancer).CeO_(2) NP toxicity is discussed in terms of the different systems of the human body(e.g.,cytotoxicity,genotoxicity,respiratory toxicity,neurotoxicity,and hepatotoxicity).This comprehensive review covers both fundamental discoveries and exploratory progress in CeO_(2) NP research that may lead to practical developments in the future.

Dendritic cell(DC)-targeted delivery of mRNA is a prominent method to boost the efficacy of mRNA tumor *** targeting ligands are often modified on nanocarriers by polyethylene glycol(PEG)linker in mRNA delivery *** the PEG linker length influences the targeting delivery efficiency of mRNA nanocarrier in vivo remains ***,we designed and constructed DC-targeted mRNA delivery systems modified by mannose via different PEG linker lengths(100/400/1000/2000)(MPn-LPX).The top candidate MP_(400)-LPX(the linker was PEG400)showed the optimal mRNA expression and antigen presentation owing to the highly efficient uptake by ***,MP_(400)-LPX could better inhibited tumor growth and extended survival in the E.G7-OVA lymphoma and TC-1 cervical tumor mouse ***,these results demonstrated that PEG400 was the optimal linker for the PEGylated DC-targeted mRNA *** findings provided a new platform for the rational design of targeted mRNA nanovaccines with shorter-length PEG.

A_(2)B_(7)-type La-Mg-Ni alloys prepared by Mg thermal diffusion for improved hydrogen storage performance

A novel approach based on thermal diffusion was used to achieve controllable Mg content in A_(2)B_(7)-type La-Mg-Ni-based *** formation mechanism of the A_(2)B_(7)-type phase as a result of the thermal diffusion process and the effect of Mg content on hydrogen storage performance were investigated.X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns and Rietveld refinement results showed that increased Mg transformed the LaNi_(5)phase in the La_(0.74)Sm_(0.03)Y_(0.23)Ni_(4.32)Al_(0.04)precursor alloy into a superlattice *** electron microscopy(SEM)images showed that Mg was evenly distributed in the alloy *** in the superlattice significantly inhibited the phase decomposition of the superlattice structure during the hydrogen absorption/desorption *** A_(2)B_(7)-type La_(0.57)Sm_(0.02)Y_(0.18)Mg_(0.23)Ni_(3.38)Al_(0.03)alloy composed of Gd_(2)Co_(7)and Ce_(2)Ni_(7)phases was successfully *** pressure-composition isotherm profiles showed that the alloy had a hydrogen storage capacity as high as 1.73 wt%,with good cycling *** 50 cycles of hydrogen absorption/desorption,the alloy retained a hydrogen storage capacity of 1.45 wt%,with a capacity retention rate of up to 84.28%.The Mg thermal diffusion process thus provides a new approach for the controlled preparation of La-Mg-Ni-based alloys.

The TanSat mission： preliminary global observations

The Chinese global carbon dioxide monitoring satellite （TanSat） was launched successfully in December 2016 and has completed its on-orbit tests and calibration. TanSat aims to measure the atmospheric column-averaged dry air mole fractions of carbon dioxide （XCO2） with a precision of 4 ppm at the regional scale, and in addition, to derive global and regional CO2 fluxes. Progress towards these objectives is reviewed and the first scientific results from TanSat measurements are presented. TanSat on-orbit tests indicate that the Atmospheric Carbon dioxide GratingSpectrometer is in normal working status and is beginning to produce LIB products. The preliminary TanSat XCO2 products have been retrieved by an algorithm and compared to NASA Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 （OCO-2） measurements during an over- lapping observation period. Furthermore, the XCO2 retrievals have been validated against eight groundsite measurement datasets from the Total Carbon Column Observing Network, for which the preliminary conclusion is that TanSat has met the precision design requirement, with an average bias of 2.11 ppm. The first scientific observations are presented, namely, the seasonal distributions of XCO2 over land on a global scale.

Experimental study on heavy ion single-event effects in flash-based FPGAs

With extensive use of flash-based field-programmable gate arrays(FPGAs) in military and aerospace applications, single-event effects(SEEs) of FPGAs induced by radiations have been a major concern. In this paper, we present SEE experimental study of a flash-based FPGA from Microsemi Pro ASIC3 product family. The relation between the cross section and different linear energy transfer(LET) values for the logic tiles and embedded RAM blocks is obtained. The results show that the sequential logic cross section depends not too much on operating frequency of the device. And the relationship between 0 →1 upsets(zeros) and 1 →0 upsets(ones) is different for different kinds of D-flip-flops. The devices are not sensitive to SEL up to a LET of 99.0 Me V cm2/***-beam tests show that the programming module is damaged due to the high-LET ions.

Association of candidate gene polymorphisms with diabetic retinopathy in Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes

●AIM:To investigate the association between a set of six candidate genes and the risk of diabetic retinopathy(DR)in an urban community cohort of Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2 DM).●METHODS:A population-based cross-sectional *** diabetic subjects were recruited from an urban community in Beijing and categorized into groups of proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR),non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR),or diabetic without any retinopathy(DWR)based on the fundus photography and duration of *** candidate genes,including advanced glycation end product specific receptor(AGER),aldose reductase(AKR1 B1),inducible nitric oxide synthase(i NOS),pigment epithelium derived factor(PEDF),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),and paraoxonase 1(PON1),were chosen based on Meta-analysis of genetic association studies for DR and biochemical pathways implicated in DR *** allele and genotype distribution of 21 functional singlenucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)in those 6 candidate genes were investigated using MassARRAY genotyping system.●RESULTS:Among 1461 diabetic patients recruited from community,569 were selected in following genotyping analysis,including 97 patients with PDR,217 with NPDR,and 255 with *** the promoter variant rs1051993 in AGER gene,the distribution of allele and genotype in PDR group differed from that in DWR group(allele:P=0.011;genotype:P=0.01).Compared with DWR,patients with PDR had lower frequencies of heterozygous genotype GT(9.8%for DWR,1%for PDR,OR:0.10,95%CI:0.01-0.72)and minor allele T(4.9%for DWR,0.5%for PDR,OR:0.10,95%CI:0.01-0.75).In multivariate model,the distribution of genotype for rs1051993 in PDR group was significantly different from that in DWR group(GT vs GG:OR:0.07,95%CI:0.01-0.61,P<0.001).No association with DR was observed in other genotyped SNPs.●CONCLUSION:The data suggest a significant association of the promoter variant rs1051993 in AGER gene with PDR in Chinese cohort with T2DM.

Promotion of axon regeneration and inhibition of astrocyte activation by alpha A-crystallin on crushed optic nerve

AIM：To explore the effects of αA-crystallin in astrocyte gliosis after optic nerve crush（ONC） and the mechanism of α-crystallin in neuroprotection and axon ***：ONC was established on the SpragueDawley rat model and αA-crystallin（10 -4 g/L,4 μL） was intravitreously injected into the rat ***-visual evoked potential（F-VEP） was examined 14 d after ONC,and the glial fibrillary acidic protein（GFAP） levels in the retina and crush site were analyzed 1,3,5,7 and 14 d after ONC by immunohistochemistry（IHC） and Western blot *** levels of beta Tubulin（TUJ1）,growth-associated membrane phosphoprotein-43（GAP-43）,chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans（CSPGs） and neurocan were also determined by IHC 14 d after ***：GFAP level in the retina and the optic nerve significantly increased 1d after ONC,and reached the peak level 7d *** of αA-crystallin significantly decreased GFAP level in both the retina and the crush site 3d after ONC,and induced astrocytes architecture remodeling at the crush *** of retinal ganglion cell（RGC） axons indicated αAcrystallin markedly promoted axon regeneration in ONC rats and enhanced the regenerated axons penetrated into the glial *** and neurocan expression also decreased 14 d after αA-crystallin *** amplitude（N1-P1） and latency（P1） of F-VEP were also ***：Our results suggest α-crystallin promotes the axon regeneration of RGCs and suppresses the activation of astrocytes.
