Optimized tillage methods increase mechanically transplanted rice yield and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions

Biaxia lrotary tillage in dryland(DBRT)can complete biaxial rotary tillage with straw incorporation,secondary suppression,and ditching,and it has been previously studied in direct-seeded rice and wheat.However,the effects of DBRT on the mechanically transplanted rice yield and greenhouse gas emissions remain unclear.To evaluate the effects of DBRT on improving the food security of mechanically transplanted rice and reducing the greenhouse gas emissions,we conducted an experiment for two years with wheat straw incorporation.Three tillage methods were set up:DBRT,uniaxial rotary tillage in dryland and paddy(DPURT),and uniaxial rotary tillage in paddy(PURT).The results showed that compared with DPURT and PURT,DBRT increased the yield of machine-transplanted rice by 7.5-11.0%and 13.3-26.7%,respectively,while the seasonal cumulative CH_(4) emissions were reduced by 13.9-21.2%and 30.2-37.0%,respectively,and the seasonal cumulative N_(2)O emissions were increased by 13.5-28.6%and 50.0-73.1%,respectively.Consequently,DBRT reduced the global warming potential by 10.7-15.5%and 23.7-28.6%,respectively,andtheyield-scaledglobalwarmingpotentialby18.2-21.8%and36.4-39.3%,respectively,compared to DPURT and PURT.These results were mainly related to the fact that DBRT significantly reduced soil bulk density and increased soil redox potential(Eh).Therefore,implementing DBRT in machine-transplanted rice fields is feasible,which cannot only increase the rice yield,but also reduce the greenhouse gas emissions.

For a polymer/polymer dismissible blend with two crystallizable components,the crystallization behavior of different components and the reciprocal influences between different crystals are interesting and important,but did not investigate in detail.In this study,the L-poly(lactic acid)/polypropylene(PLLA/PP)blends with different weight ratios were prepared by melt mixing and the crystallization behavior of the blends were investigated.Results showed that the crystalline structures of PLLA and PP were not altered by the composition.For the crystallization of PLLA,both the diffusion of chain segments and crystallization rate were enhanced under the existence of PP crystals.For the crystallization of PP,its crystallization rate was depressed under the existence of amorphous PLLA molecular chains.When the PP crystallized from the existence of PLLA crystals,although the diffusion rate of PP was reduced by PLLA crystals,the nucleation positions were obviously enhanced,which accelerated the formation of PP crystals.This investigation would supply more basic data for the application of PLLA/PP blend.

Mechanical behavior of 2G NPR bolt anchored rock samples under static disturbance loading

The deep mining of coal resources is accompanied by severe environmental challenges and various potential engineering hazards.The implementation of NPR(negative Poisson's ratio)bolts are capable of controlling large deformations in the surrounding rock effectively.This paper focuses on studying the mechanical properties of the NPR bolt under static disturbance load.The deep nonlinear mechanical experimental system was used to study the mechanical behavior of rock samples with different anchored types(unanchored/PR anchored/2G NPR anchored)under static disturbance load.The whole process of rock samples was taken by high-speed camera to obtain the real-time failure characteristics under static disturbance load.At the same time,the acoustic emission signal was collected to obtain the key characteristic parameters of acoustic emission such as acoustic emission count,energy,and frequency.The deformation at the failure of the samples was calculated and analyzed by digital speckle software.The findings indicate that the failure mode of rock is influenced by different types of anchoring.The peak failure strength of 2G NPR bolt anchored rock samples exhibits an increase of 6.5%when compared to the unanchored rock samples.The cumulative count and cumulative energy of acoustic emission exhibit a decrease of 62.16%and 62.90%,respectively.The maximum deformation of bearing capacity exhibits an increase of 59.27%,while the failure time demonstrates a delay of 42.86%.The peak failure strength of the 2G NPR bolt anchored ones under static disturbance load exhibits an increase of 5.94%when compared to the rock anchored by PR(Poisson's ratio)bolt.The cumulative count and cumulative energy of acoustic emission exhibit a decrease of 47.16%and 43.86%,respectively.The maximum deformation of the bearing capacity exhibits an increase of 50.43%,and the failure time demonstrates a delay of 32%.After anchoring by 2G NPR bolt,anchoring support effectively reduces the risk of damage caused by static disturbance load.These results demonstrate

Decarbonisation of power systems is essential for realising carbon neutrality,in which the economic cost caused by carbon needs to be qualified.Based on the formulation of locational marginal price(LMP),this paper proposes a locational marginal electricity-carbon price(EC-LMP)model to reveal carbon-related costs caused by power consumers.A carbon-priceintegrated optimal power flow(C-OPF)is then developed to maximise economic efficiency of the power system considering the costs of electricity and carbon.Case studies are presented to demonstrate the new formulation and results demonstrate the efficacy of the EC-LMP-based C-OPF on decarbonisation and economy.

Fast Zn^(2+)mobility enabled by sucrose modified Zn^(2+)solvation structure for dendrite-free aqueous zinc battery

Aqueous zinc battery has been regarded as one of the most promising energy storage systems due to its low cost and environmental benignity.However,the safety concern on Zn anodes caused by uncontrolled Zn dendrite growth in aqueous electrolyte hinders their application.Herein,sucrose with multi-hydroxyl groups has been introduced into aqueous electrolyte to modify Zn^(2+)solvation environment and create a protection layer on Zn anode,thus effectively retarding the growth of zinc dendrites.Atomistic simulations and experiments confirm that sucrose molecules can enter into the solvation sheath of Zn^(2+),and the as-formed unique solvation structure enhances the mobility of Zn^(2+).Such fast Zn^(2+)kinetics in sucrose-modified electrolyte can successfully suppress the dendrite growth.With this sucrose-modified aqueous electrolyte,Zn/Zn symmetric cells present more stable cycle performance than those using pure aqueous electrolyte;Zn/C cells also deliver an impressive higher energy density of 129.7 Wh·kg^(−1)and improved stability,suggesting a great potential application of sucrose-modified electrolytes for future Zn batteries.

Bovine tuberculosis(bTB)is a chronic zoonotic disease that is endemic in China.Current in-vitro tests for bTB are mainly based on blood assays.Collection of samples results in some stress to the sampled cattle and associated economic losses for the herd owner.This study was designed to investigate the relationship between milk and serum antibody tests for bTB in dairy cows using 85 cows with milk and corresponding blood samples.Totally 4,395 milk samples were used to assesse the apparent(test)prevalence and incidence of bTB using the milk antibody ELISA.The association between levels of bTB milk antibody and milk quality was also evaluated.Milk and serum antibody tests showed a good correlation with a 87.5%(95%CI:61.7%,98.4)positive agreement and 98.7%(95%CI:95.4,99.8)negative agreement.The animal level lactoprevalence ranged from 0.3%(95%CI:0,1.2)to 33.3%(95%CI:26.6,40.6)in different farms and the incidence rate ranged from 0 head/cow-month(95%CI:0,0.02)to 0.04 head/cow-month(95%CI:0.02,0.07).Twenty percent of sampled farms met the criteria for bTB control in China.The prevalence on large-scale farms was lower(p<0.001)than on small farms.The bTB milk antibody levels had a negative correlation with milk yield and a positive correlation with somatic cell count(SCC),milk protein percentage(MPP)and percentage of total solids(TS).According to this research,milk ELISA could be used as a supplement of blood samples to assist in the surveillance for bTB and for alerting control and eradication of bTB.

Multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells are fully permissive for human cytomegalovirus infection

Congenital human cytomegalovirus(HCMV) infection is a leading infectious cause of birth defects.Previous studies have reported birth defects with multiple organ maldevelopment in congenital HCMV-infected neonates. Multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells(MSCs) are a group of stem/progenitor cells that are multi-potent and can self-renew, and they play a vital role in multiorgan formation. Whether MSCs are susceptible to HCMV infection is unclear. In this study, MSCs were isolated from Wharton's jelly of the human umbilical cord and identified by their plastic adherence, surface marker pattern, and differentiation capacity. Then, the MSCs were infected with the HCMV Towne strain, and infection status was assessed via determination of viral entry,replication initiation, viral protein expression, and infectious virion release using western blotting,immunofluorescence assays, and plaque forming assays. The results indicate that the isolated MSCs were fully permissive for HCMV infection and provide a preliminary basis for understanding the pathogenesis of HCMV infection in non-nervous system diseases, including multi-organ malformation during fetal development.

A microRNA-21-responsive doxorubicin-releasing sticky-flare for synergistic anticancer with silencing of microRNA and chemotherapy

A sticky-flare gold nanoparticle probe(AuNP-probe)is designed by the combination of locked nucleic acid functionalized silencing of microRNA technology for intracellular microRNA-21(miRNA-21)sensitively detecting,fluorescence imaging,localizing and silencing.The limit of detection is as low as 0.01 n M.Overexpressed miRNA-21 in cancer cells serves as endogenous drug release stimuli to trigger the release of probe-loaded doxorubicin(Dox),which soon translocates into cell nuclei.This multifunctional Dox-loaded AuNP-probe(Dox-AuNP-probe)could induce cancer cell apoptosis effectively through the synergistic effect of gene silencing and chemotherapy.This Dox-AuNP-probe exhibits superior drug potency compared to free Dox molecules,with a cell inhibition rate of 57%(but only 20%for Dox)to wild-type cancer cells and 30%(but 0%for Dox)to drug-resistent cancer cells after 72 h,and this strategy not only has the function of sensing,but also can effectively bypass drug resistance.In MCF-7 xenograft tumor-bearing mice,the Dox-AuNP-probes show greater inhibition for tumor tissues than miRNA-21 targeted AuNP-probes(Targeting-AuNP-probe)or free Dox molecules.Therefore,the Dox-AuNP-probe represents a promising nanotheranostic platform for future applications in cancer molecular imaging and therapy,especially providing a potential strategy to treat resistant cancers.

以碳氮共渗热处理后的M50NiL钢为研究对象,对不同粒度砂轮磨削后试样的表层微观形貌、表层组织结构、残余应力、显微硬度等进行了研究分析。研究结果表明,磨削后的试样表层变质层为非常细小的形变马氏体组织+奥氏体组织,为纳米晶区,晶面扭转现象明显,奥氏体含量与磨削热有直接关系,磨削后的表面变质层可分为3个部分,0~20μm的表层磨削热变质层、20~70μm的高硬度变质层及70~200μm的扩散变质层。为降低砂轮粒度对变质层组织性能的影响,可在磨削后去除适量的表面磨削变质层,但去除量不能超过磨削热变质层区的范围,以获得最佳的材料服役特性。
