Omental mass combined with indirect inguinal hernia leads to a scrotal mass: A case report

Design and calibration of spoke piezoelectric six-dimensional force/torque sensor for space manipulator

Preliminary evaluation of magnetic resonance fresh blood imaging for diagnosis of Budd-Chiari syndrome

Background Budd-Chiari syndrome （BCS） is a rare disease with portal hypertension caused by the blockage of the hepatic vein and/or the inferior vena cava （IVC）. Angiography is the ＂golden standard＂ for diagnosis, but it is an invasive examination. To assess the diagnostic value of a fresh blood imaging （FBI） relative to BCS, we used a magnetic resonance angiography （MRA） with an FBI sequence for a preoperative evaluation of the BCS patients in this study. Methods Fifty patients who were suspected of having BCS after they had been checked by a B-ultrasound were studied. 2D and 3D FBI were performed on a 1.5T superconductive MR scanner. Original images were rebuilt using a maximal intensity projection （MIP） method on the console. Two doctors reviewed all images before they learned of the angiography results. We then compared the diagnoses obtained from the FBI and angiography results to evaluate the diagnostic value of the FBI.Results Forty-one patients were diagnosed as BCS and 9 as non-BCS based on an angiography. The FBI correctly diagnosed 38 patients, incorrectly diagnosed 1 patient, and missed diagnosis in 3 patients. Thus, the diagnostic sensitivity of the FBI is 93% （38/41）, the specificity is 89% （8/9） and the accuracy is 92% （46/50）. The FBI images of the 13 membranous stenoses of the IVC showed a sudden stenosis of the post-liver segment of the IVC. The Images of the 5 patients with a membranous obstruction of the IVC showed IVC thickening and an absence of blood signals in the post-hepatic segment of the IVC. The images of the 4 patients with the segmental thrombosis of the IVC showed abnormal and intermittent signals in the IVC. The images of the 6 patients with a simple hepatic vein obstruction showed obstructive hepatic veins. The images of the 6 patients with the stenosis of both the IVC and the hepatic veins showed the stenosis of the IVC, the thickening of the hepatic veins and the formation of a compensatory circulation within the liver. Constructing hierarchical arrays with core-shell metal oxides@metal coordination polymers for efficient and stable overall water splitting

Developing non-precious metal-based bifunctional electrocatalysts capable for both hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is essential to achieve efficient water electrolysis for mass hydrogen production,however it remains ***,we report the synthesis of hierarchical nanorod arrays comprising core-shell structured P-doped NiMoO4@NiFe-coordination polymer(denoted as P-NiMoO4@NiFeCP)as bifunctional electrocatalysts for water ***,we systematically investigate the influence of NiFeCP shell thickness on electrocatalytic activity,manifesting the presence of strong interfacial synergetic effect between P-NiMoO4 and NiFeCP for boosting both the HER and *** advantageous hierarchical architectures and unique core-shell structures,optimized P-NiMoO_(4)@NiFeCP-7.3(7.3 is the shell thickness in nm)requires overpotentials of merely 256 and 297 mV to yield a current density of 1000 mA·cm^(−2)for the HER and OER in 1 M KOH,*** importantly,it can serve as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for efficient and sustainable overall water electrolysis,delivering large current densities of 500 and 1000 mA·cm^(−2)at low cell voltages of 1.804 and 1.865 V,along with high stability of over 500 h at 1000 mA·cm−2,demonstrating the great potential of this electrocatalyst towards practical applications.

Research on blade tip clearance cavitation and turbulent kinetic energy characteristics of axial flow pump based on the partially-averaged Navier-Stokes model

To reveal the cavitation forms of tip leakage vortex(TLV)of the axial flow pump and the flow mechanism of the flow field,this research adopts the partially-averaged Navier-Stokes(PANS)model to simulate the cavitation values of an axial flow pump,followed by experimental *** experimental result shows that compared with the shear stress transport(SST)k-ωmodel,the PANS model significantly reduces the eddy viscosity of the flow field to make the vortex structure clearer and allow the turbulence scale to be more robustly *** cavitation area within the axial flow pump mainly comprises of TLV cavitation,clearance cavitation and tip leakage flows combined effect of triangular cloud cavitation *** formation and development of cavitation are accompanied by the formation and evolution of vortex,and variations in vortex structure also generate and promote the development of *** addition,an in-depth analysis of the relationship between the turbulent kinetic energy(TKE)transport equation and cavitation patterns was also conducted,finding that the regions with relatively high TKE are mainly distributed around gas/liquid boundaries with serious cavitation and evident gas-liquid *** phenomenon is mainly attributed to the combined effect of the pressure action term,stress diffusion term and TKE production term.

Polypropylene(PP)fiber-reinforced cement-based tailings backfill(FRCTB)is a green compound material with superior crack resistance and has good prospects for application in underground ***,FRCTB exhibits susceptibility to dynamic events,such as impact ground pressure and blast *** paper investigates the energy and crack distribution behavior of FRCTB under dynamic impact,considering the height/diameter(H/D)*** Hopkinson pressure bar,industrial computed tomography scan,and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)experiments were carried out on six types of *** outcomes confirmed fiber aggregation at the bottom of *** H/D was less than 0.8,the proportion of PP fibers distributed along theθangle direction of80°-90°*** the total energy,all samples presented similar energy absorption,reflectance,and ***,a rise in H/D may cause a rise in the energy absorption rate of FRCTB during the peak phase.A positive correlation existed between the average strain rate and absorbed energy per unit *** increase in H/D resulted in a decreased crack volume fraction of *** the H/D was greater than or equal to 0.7,the maximum crack volume fraction of FRCTB was observed close to the incidence *** cracks were present only in the FRCTB with an H/D ratio of *** with H/D ratios of 0.5 and 0.6 showed similar distributions of weakly and heavily damaged *** fibers can limit the emergence and expansion of cracks by influencing their *** observations revealed considerable differences in the bonding strengths between fibers and the *** that adhered particularly well to the substrate were attracted together with the hydration products adhering to *** results show that FRCTB is promising as a sustainable and green backfill for determining the design properties of mining with backfill.
