The angle of rice leaf inclination is an important agronomic trait and closely related to the yields and archi- tecture of crops. Although few mutants with altered leaf angles have been reported, the molecular mechanism remains to be elucidated, especially whether hormones are involved in this process. Through genetic screening, a rice gain-of- function mutant leaf inclination1, Icl-D, was identified from the Shanghai T-DNA Insertion Population （SHIP）. Phenotypic analysis confirmed the exaggerated leaf angles of Icl-D due to the stimulated cell elongation at the lamina joint. LC1 is transcribed in various tissues and encodes OsGH3-1, an indole-3-acetic acid （IAA） amido synthetase, whose homolog of Arabidopsis functions in maintaining the auxin homeostasis by conjugating excess IAA to various amino acids. Indeed, recombinant LC1 can catalyze the conjugation of IAA to Ala, Asp, and Asn in vitro, which is consistent with the decreased free IAA amount in Icl-D mutant. Icl-D is insensitive to IAA and hypersensitive to exogenous BR, in agreement with the microarray analysis that reveals the altered transcriptions of genes involved in auxin signaling and BR biosynthesis. These results indicate the crucial roles of auxin homeostasis in the leaf inclination control.

Production optimization is of significance for carbonate reservoirs,directly affecting the sustainability and profitability of reservoir *** physics-based numerical simulations suffer from insufficient calculation accuracy and excessive time consumption when performing production *** establish an ensemble proxy-model-assisted optimization framework combining the Bayesian random forest(BRF)with the particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO).The BRF method is implemented to construct a proxy model of the injectioneproduction system that can accurately predict the dynamic parameters of producers based on injection data and production *** the help of proxy model,PSO is applied to search the optimal injection pattern integrating Pareto front *** experimental testing,the proxy model not only boasts higher prediction accuracy compared to deep learning,but it also requires 8 times less time for *** addition,the injection mode adjusted by the PSO algorithm can effectively reduce the gaseoil ratio and increase the oil production by more than 10% for carbonate *** proposed proxy-model-assisted optimization protocol brings new perspectives on the multi-objective optimization problems in the petroleum industry,which can provide more options for the project decision-makers to balance the oil production and the gaseoil ratio considering physical and operational constraints.

Photoluminescence spectrum of Gap ( N, Te , Zn ) under hydrostatic pressure was measured at 77K. Pressure coefficients for Te donor level as well as energy levels of excitons bound to N, NN1, NN3, and neutral donor Te were obtained. The pressure shifts of these levels were discussed. The zero phonon line of free exciton in Gap was observed for the first time.

Acute-on-chronic liver failure （ACLF） is a severe life-threatening complication. Liver transplantation is the only available therapeutic option; however, several limitations have restricted its use in patients. The use of corticosteroids as an optional therapy for ACLF has received a great deal of interest. The rationale behind its use is the possible role of the immune system in initiating and perpetuating hepatic damage. In order to assess the relationship between myeloid dendritic cells （mDCs） and the efficacy of methylprednisolone （MP） treatment for hepatitis B virus （H BV）-associated ACLF patients, we recruited 30 HBV-associated ACLF patients who had received MP treatment at lO-day intervals; 26 patients received conservative medical （CM） management as a control. The functionality of DC subsets was lower in these ACLF patients compared with healthy subjects. In addition, compared with survivors, dead/transplanted patients had lower functional mDC in both groups. Furthermore, a decreased numbers of mDC at baseline was associated with high mortality of ACLF patients. Importantly, MP treatment resulted in a significant decrease in 28-day mortality, and all MP patients exhibited an initial rapid decrease in circulating mDC numbers within 10 days of MP treatment. Subsequently, MP survivors displayed a continuous increase in mDC numbers accompanied by a decrease in total bilirubin levels by more than 30%. However, MP dead/ transplanted patients lacked these sequential responses compared with survivors. This evidence suggests strongly that the higher mDC numbers at baseline and the recovery of mDC number at the end of treatment may represent a prognostic marker for favorable response to corticosteroid treatment in ACLF patients.

Intestinal obstruction(IO),which refers to a partial or complete blockage of the intestine,is an emergency gastrointestinal disorder commonly seen in the intensive care unit(ICU)and emergency department and associated with high morbidity and mortality.[1,2]Common etiologies of IO include adhesions,hernias,intussusception,foreign bodies,ischemia,tumors,*** in the diagnosis and management of IO is associated with higher mortality due to complications such as bowel necrosis,perforation,sepsis,and septic shock.[3]IO can be divided into small bowel obstruction(SBO)and colonic obstruction(CO).In SBO,74%of cases are caused by adhesions,which may respond to conservative *** is critical to identify which of those cases may progress and require emergent surgical intervention with the help of the diagnostic and assessment *** contrast to SBO,most cases of CO demand *** this instance,appropriate assessment tools are required to define the location of the obstruction,which will assist in the proper surgical procedure.[4]

BACKGROUND: We aim to investigate effects of metabolic syndrome on onset age and long-termoutcomes in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).METHODS: Patients with ACS (n=6,431) who underwent percutaneous coronary interventionfrom January to December 2013 were enrolled. After excluding patients with previous coronary arterydisease, 1,558 patients were diagnosed with early-onset ACS (men aged ≤50 years;women aged≤60 years) and 3,044 patients with late-onset ACS. Baseline characteristics and five-year clinicaloutcomes were ***: Body mass index, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and uric acidconcentrations were significantly higher, while the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)concentration was lower in the early-onset ACS group (P<0.001). Multivariate logistic regression revealedobesity (odds ratio [OR] 1.590, 95% confi dence interval [CI] 1.345–1.881), hypertriglyceridemia (OR 1.403,95% CI 1.185–1.660), and low HDL-C (OR 1.464, 95% CI 1.231–1.742) as independent risk factorsfor early-onset ACS (all P<0.001). The fi ve-year follow-up showed that the incidences of all cause death(1.5% vs. 3.8%, P<0.001), cardiac death (1.1% vs. 2.0%, P=0.023), and recurrent stroke (2.2% vs. 4.2%,P<0.001) were lower, while bleeding events were more frequent in the early-onset ACS group. A subgroupanalysis showed higher incidences of recurrent myocardial infarction (MI) and revascularization in patientswith early-onset ACS and metabolic ***: Obesity, hypertriglyceridemia, and lower HDL-C level are independent riskfactors for early-onset ACS, recurrent MI, and revascularization. The control of metabolic syndromemay reduce the incidence of early-onset ACS and improve the long-term prognosis.

The pursuit of high energy density while achieving long cycle life remains a challenge in developing transition metal(TM)oxide cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs).Here,we present a concept of precisely manipulating structural evolution via local coordination chemistry regulation to design high-performance composite cathode *** controllable structural evolution process is realized by tuning magnesium content in Na0.6Mn1-xMgxO2,which is elucidated by a combination of experimental analysis and theoretical *** substitution of Mg into Mn sites not only induces a unique structural evolu-tion from layered–tunnel structure to layered structure but also mitigates the Jahn–Teller distortion of Mn3+.Meanwhile,benefiting from the strong ionic inter-action between Mg2+and O2-,local environments around O2-coordinated with electrochemically inactive Mg2+are anchored in the TM layer,providing a pinning effect to stabilize crystal structure and smooth electrochemical *** layered–tunnel Na0.6Mn0.95Mg0.05O2 cathode material delivers 188.9 mAh g-1 of specific capacity,equivalent to 508.0 Wh kg-1 of energy density at 0.5C,and exhibits 71.3%of capacity retention after 1000 cycles at 5C as well as excellent compatibility with hard carbon *** work may provide new insights of manipulating structural evolution in composite cathode materials via local coordi-nation chemistry regulation and inspire more novel design of high-performance SIB cathode materials.

BACKGROUND:To investigate the most appropriate dual antiplatelet therapy(DAPT)duration for patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS)after drug-eluting stent(DES)implantation in the largest cardiovascular center of ***:We enrolled 5,187 consecutive patients with ACS who received DES from January to December *** were divided into four groups based on DAPT duration:standard DAPT group(11-13 months,n=1,568)and prolonged DAPT groups(13-18 months[n=308],18-24 months[n=2,125],and>24 months[n=1,186]).Baseline characteristics and 5-year clinical outcomes were ***:Baseline characteristics were similar across the four *** the four groups,those with prolonged DAPT(18-24 months)had the lowest incidence of major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events(MACCEs)(14.1%vs.11.7%vs.9.6%vs.24.2%,P<0.001),all-cause death(4.8%vs.3.9%vs.2.1%vs.2.6%,P<0.001),cardiac death(3.1%vs.2.6%vs.1.4%vs.1.9%,P=0.004),and myocardial infarction(MI)(3.8%vs.4.2%vs.2.5%vs.5.8%,P<0.001).The incidence of bleeding was not different among the four groups(9.9%vs.9.4%vs.11.0%vs.9.4%,P=0.449).Cox multivariable analysis showed that prolonged DAPT(18-24 months)was an independent protective factor for MACCEs(hazard ratio[HR]0.802,95%confidence interval[CI]0.729-0.882,P<0.001),all-cause death(HR 0.660,95%CI 0.547-0.795,P<0.001),cardiac death(HR 0.663,95%CI 0.526-0.835,P<0.001),MI(HR 0.796,95%CI 0.662-0.957,P=0.015),and target vessel revascularization(HR 0.867,95%CI 0.755-0.996,P=0.044).Subgroup analysis for high bleeding risk showed that prolonged DAPT remained an independent protective factor for all-cause death and ***:For patients with ACS after DES,appropriately prolonging the DAPT duration may be associated with a reduced risk of adverse ischemic events without increasing the bleeding risk.
