BACKGROUND The cardiovascular hazards of total homocysteine(tHcy)are long *** addition,despite the acknow-ledgment on the importance of low ankle-brachial index(ABI)(line ABI(0.91-0.99)was once commonly *** study aims to explore the independent and joint effect of tHcy level and borderline ABI on all-cause death in hypertensive *** This study included 10,538 participants from China H-type Hypertension Registry *** was described into two groups:normal ABI(1.00-1.40)and borderline *** level was also divided into two groups:line ABI and high tHcy level has significantly higher altitude and larger increasing rate over follow-up period compare to other *** those with borderline ABI,participants with high tHcy had higher death risk than those with low tHcy,nevertheless,no significant different between borderline and normal ABI among those with low tHcy *** Borderline ABI and tHcy level both have independent predictive value on all-cause *** combined group of borderline ABI and high tHcy has highest risk factor of outcomes,which suggested the mutual additive value of border-line ABI and *** attention should be given to the importance of borderline ABI in hypertensive population,especially with elevated tHcy level.

Bigflow: A General Optimization Layer for Distributed Computing Frameworks

As data volumes grow rapidly, distributed computations are widely employed in data-centers to provide cheap and efficient methods to process large-scale parallel datasets. Various computation models have been proposed to improve the abstraction of distributed datasets and hide the details of parallelism. However, most of them follow the single-layer partitioning method, which limits developers to express a multi-level partitioning operation succinctly. To overcome the problem, we present the NDD (Nested Distributed Dataset) data model. It is a more compact and expressive extension of Spark RDD (Resilient Distributed Dataset), in order to remove the burden on developers to manually write the logic for multi-level partitioning cases. Base on the NDD model, we develop an open-source framework called Bigflow, which serves as an optimization layer over computation engines from most widely used processing frameworks. With the help of Bigflow, some advanced optimization techniques, which may only be applied by experienced programmers manually, are enabled automatically in a distributed data processing job. Currently, Bigflow is processing about 3 PB data volumes daily in the data-centers of Baidu. According to customer experience, it can significantly save code length and improve performance over the intuitive programming style.

Small-volume chylous ascites after laparoscopic radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer:Results from a large population-based sample

AIM:To report the incidence and potential risk factors of small-volume chylous ascites(SVCA)following laparoscopic radical gastrectomy(LAG).METHODS:A total of 1366 consecutive gastric cancer patients who underwent LAG from January 2008 to June 2011 were enrolled in this *** analyzed the patients based on the presence or absence of ***:SVCA was detected in 57(4.17%)patients,as determined by the small-volume drainage(range,30-100 m L/24 h)of triglyceride-rich *** univariate and multivariate analyses revealed that the total number of resected lymph nodes(LNs),No.8 or No.9 LN metastasis and N stage were independent risk factors for SVCA following LAG(P0.05).CONCLUSION:SVCA following LAG developed significantly more frequently in the patients with≥32harvested LNs,≥3 metastatic LNs,or No.8 or No.9LN ***,which was successfully treated with conservative management,was associated with a prolonged hospital stay but was not associated with the prognosis.

Adenosine A2A receptor-expressing neurons in the striatum regulate sleep behaviors

Acrylamide-induced Subacute Neurotoxic Effects on the Cerebral Cortex and Cerebellum at the Synapse Level in Rats

Objective To investigate acrylamide （ACR）-induced subacute neurotoxic effects on the central nervous system （CNS） at the synapse level in rats. Methods Thirty-six Sprague Dawley （SD） rats were randomized into three groups, （1） a 30 mg/kg ACR-treated group, （2） a 50 mg/kg ACR-treated group, and （3） a normal saline （NS）-treated control group. Body weight and neurological changes were recorded each day. At the end of the test, cerebral cortex and cerebellum tissues were harvested and viewed using light and electron microscopy. Additionally, the expression of Synapsin I and P-Synapsin I in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum were investigated. Results The 50 mg/kg ACR-treated rats showed a significant reduction in body weight compared with untreated individuals （P 〈 0.05）. Rats exposed to ACR showed a significant increase in gait scores compared with the NS control group （P 〈 0.05）. Histological examination indicated neuronal structural damage in the 50 mg/kg ACR treatment group. The active zone distance （AZD） and the nearest neighbor distance （NND） of synaptic vesicles in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum were increased in both the 30 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg ACR treatment groups. The ratio of the distribution of synaptic vesicles in the readily releasable pool （RRP） was decreased. Furthermore, the expression levels of Synapsin I and P-Synapsin I in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum were decreased in both the 30 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg ACR treatment groups. Conclusion Subacute ACR exposure contributes to neuropathy in the rat CNS. Functional damage of synaptic proteins and vesicles may be a mechanism of ACR neurotoxicity.

Co-infection of SARS-COV-2 and Influenza A Virus:A Case Series and Fast Review

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)occurs in the influenza season and has become a global *** present study aimed to examine severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)co-infection with influenza A virus(IAV)in an attempt to provide clues for the antiviral interventions of co-infected *** described two patients who were co-infected with SARS-CoV-2 and IAV treated at Wuhan Union Hospital,*** addition,we performed a review in PubMed,Web of Science and CNKI(from January 1 up to November 1,2020)with combinations of the following key words:“COVID-19,SARS-COV-2,influenza A and co-infection”.A total of 28 co-infected patients were enrolled in the *** the 28 patients,the median age was 54.5 years(IQR,34.25–67.5)and 14 cases(50.0%)were classified as severe *** most common symptoms were fever(85.71%),cough(82.14%)and dyspnea(60.71%).Sixteen patients had lymphocytopenia on admission and 23 patients exhibited abnormal radiological *** median time from symptom onset to hospital admission was 4 days(IQR,3–6),and the median time of hospital stay was 14 days(IQR,8.5–16.75).In conclusion,patients with SARSCOV-2 and IAV co-infection were similar to those infected with SARS-COV-2 alone in symptoms and radiological ***-COV-2 co-infection with IAV could lead to more severe clinical condition but did not experience longer hospital stay compared with patients infected with SARSCOV-2 alone.
