Characterization and degradation of β-Sn particles in thermal aged Pb-rich solder joint for low-temperature co-fired ceramic(LTCC) applications

High-lead solder joints are still playing an indispensable role in military and space ***, in-depth characterization of high-lead solder joints and the underlying degradation mechanisms remain unexplored. This research first performed aging tests on Sn10Pb90 solder joints, the shear strength at room and elevated temperatures gradually reduced, and the resistance increased. Here, a two-layered Ni–Sn intermetallic compound(IMC) structure was identified using transmission electron microscopy(TEM), which could be attributed to the change of Sn content in the solder. Moreover, the internal annealing twin of a Sn particle was discovered,which could be attributed to creeping induced by thermal expansion coefficient(CTE) difference between Sn and *** analysis of partial and whole annealing twins was conducted through high-resolution TEM(HRTEM).Finally, four degradation mechanisms were *** of the IMC layer would result in increased brittleness and resistivity. For particle coarsening, apart from diminishing the ductility and toughness of the solder joint, it would also accelerate the creeping rate by weakening the phase boundary strength. Regarding voids and cracks induced by phase boundary sliding, wedgeshaped cracking and pore-shaped cracking were discovered and their formation was analyzed. Most importantly, the consumption of Sn resulted in a depletion of wettable layer,leading to the formation of Pb streams and isolated IMC islands, also known as the spalling and delamination of IMCs. Pb diffusion followed a spiral path, which was mutually influenced by orientation misfit and concentration gradient. The successful joining of carbon fiber-reinforced aluminum matrix(C_(f)/Al)composites and TC4 alloy can produce composite structure and meet the demands of lightweight in aerospace *** to now,few experimental researches have been reported on the joining of C_(f)/Al composites and TC4 *** this study,the AgCu foils and Ni-Al-Zr compact were designed for the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis joining of these two materials.C_(f)/Al composites were joined with a reactive Ti plated on its joining *** typical microstructure of TC4/(AgCu/Ni-Al-Zr/AgCu)/Ti/C_(f)/Al joint was analyzed,and the effects of joining condition on microstructural evolution of the SHS joint were investigated.A thin reaction layer of Ni-Al-Ti intermetallic compounds was formed adjacent to the TC4 *** a result,AgCu foils could reduce the effect of reaction heat on the substrates and improve the joint shear *** the thickness of AgCu foils reaches 150 lm,the Ni-Al-Zr interlayer mainly acts as auxiliary heat *** joining pressure caused the active elements to diffuse into C_(f)/Al composites and weakened the shear strength of the ***,the joint shear strength could reach 36.4 MPa when the AgCu foils were 50 lm and the joining pressure was 2 MPa.

Herein, we report the first visible-light photoredox-catalyzed carboxylation of aryl epoxides with CO_(2)to synthesize hydroxy acid derivatives. A variety of valuable β-, γ-, δ-, ε–hydroxy acid derivatives are obtained in moderate to high yields under mild conditions. This protocol shows noteworthy functionalgroup compatibility, high chemo-and regioselectivities under transition-metal-free conditions with an inexpensive organo-dye as photosensitizer. Mechanistic studies indicate that the benzylic carbanion is generated as an intermediate via the sequential single electron transfer(SSET) process.

Effect of dissolved-oxygen on the flotation behavior of pyrite at high altitude area

With the continuous development of mineral resources to high altitude areas,the study of sulfide ore flotation in unconventional systems has been *** is a consensus that moderate oxidation of sulfide ore is beneficial to flotation,but the specific suitable dissolved oxygen value is inconclusive,and there are few studies on sulfide ore flotation under low dissolved oxygen environment at high *** this paper,we designed and assembled an atmosphere simulation flotation equipment to simulate the flotation of pyrite at high altitude by controlling the partial pressure of N_(2)/O_(2) and dissolved oxygen under atmospheric conditions.X-ray photoelectron spec-troscopy(XPS),atomic force microscope(AFM),Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FT-IR),UV-vis spectrophotometer,zeta po-tential,and contact angle measurements were used to reveal the effects of surface oxidation and agent adsorption on pyrite at high altitude(4600 m dissolved oxygen(DO)=4.0 mg/L).The results of pure mineral flotation indicated that the high altitude and low dissolved oxy-gen environment is favorable for pyrite *** angle measurements and XPS analysis showed that the high altitude atmosphere nslows down the oxidation of pyrite surface,facilitates S_(n)^(2-)/S^(0) production and enhances surface *** calcula-tions and zeta potential analysis showed that the influence of atmosphere on the form of pyrite adsorption is small,and the different atmo-spheric conditions are consistent with dixanthogen electrochemical adsorption,with lower Zeta potential under high altitude atmosphere and significant potential shift after sodium isobutyl xanthate(SIBX)*** results of FT-IR,UV-vis,and AFM analysis showed that SIBX adsorbed more on the surface of pyrite under high altitude atmosphere and adsorbed on the surface in a mesh structure com-posed of column/*** results of the experimental study revealed the reasons for the easy flotation of sul

Clinical features of acute hepatitis E super-infections on chronic hepatitis B

AIM To examine the clinical features and risk factors for adverse outcomes in chronic hepatitis B(CHB) superimposed with hepatitis E virus(HEV).METHODS This retrospective cohort study included 228 patients with acute HEV infection(showing clinical acute hepatitis symptomology and positivity for anti-HEV immunoglobulin M) with underlying CHB(confirmed by positivity for hepatitis B surface antigen and/or hepatitis B virus(HBV) DNA over 6 mo) who had been admitted to the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, which represents the regional tertiary hospital for infectious diseases in Shanghai city, China. Data for adverse outcomes were collected, and included severe liver diseases(defined as liver failure and/or acute liver decompensation) and liver-related mortality. Logistic regression modeling was performed to determine the risk factors for adverse *** The symptoms caused by superimposed acute hepatitis E(AHE) were much more severe in cirrhotic patients(n = 94) than in non-cirrhotic patients(n = 134), as evidenced by significantly higher liver complications(77.7% vs 28.4%, P < 0.001) and mortality rate(21.3% vs 7.5%, P = 0.002). Most of the cirrhotic patients(n = 85, 90.4%) had no prior decompensation. Among the non-cirrhotic patients, superimposed AHE caused progressively more severe diseases that corresponded with the CHB disease stages, from immune tolerant to immune reactivation phases. Few risk factors were identified in the cirrhotic patients, but risk factors for non-cirrhotic patients were found to be intermediate HBV DNA levels(OR: 5.1, P = 0.012), alcohol consumption(OR: 6.4, P = 0.020), and underlying diabetes(OR: 7.5, P = 0.003) and kidney diseases(OR: 12.7, P = 0.005). Only 28.7% of the cirrhotic patients and 9.0% of the non-cirrhotic patients had received anti-HBV therapy previously and, in all cases, the efficacy had been suboptimal. Two-component dimers of ultracold atoms with center-of-mass-momentum dependent interactions

In a previous paper[***.A95,060701(R)(2017)],we demonstrated that a new type of two-body interaction,which depends on the center of mass(CoM)momentum,can be realized for ultracold atoms via laser-modulated magnetic Feshbach resonance(MFR).Further studies(e.g.L He et al,***.120,045302(2018))show that various interesting phenomena,such as Fulde–Ferrell superfluids,can be induced by scattering between ultracold atoms with this *** this work we investigate the shallow bound states of two ultracold atoms with this type of *** show that when the magnetic field B is below the MFR point B0,two shallow bound states can appear in this ***,a'two-component dimer'or a dimer with pseudo-spin 1/2 can be formed by two ***,the dispersion curve of the dimer may have either single or double minimums in the CoM momentum *** latter case can be explained as a result from significant pseudo-spin-orbital coupling(SOC)*** results show that the ultracold gases with CoM momentum dependent interaction may be a candidate for quantum simulations with ultracold two-component molecules,especially the molecule gases with SOC.

Advancing electrochemical drilling process via coupling of flow field and electric field in pulsating state generated by a novel tube tool

This paper introduces an improvement to electrochemical drilling process by coupling flow field and electric field in pulsating state. A novel tube with half-wedged shape at the end(HW-tube) is prepared, with both sidewall and wedged part of the HW-tube insulated. Only the flat part is utilized to provide electric field for electrochemical drilling. By rotating the HW-tube, both flow field and electric field in pulsating state are generated, alternating in different positions within the inter-electrode gap(IEG). The pulsating flow field enhances the mass transfer process, while pulsating electric field disperses material dissolution process and distribution of electrolytic byproducts. Both pulsating fields are coupled at the same frequency, further enhancing the electrochemical drilling process. Simulation results indicate that both flow field and electric field in pulsating state are generated. Compared to the traditional tube, the HW-tube significantly reduces the number of residual particles in IEG, and this number is further reduced by increasing the rotation speed. Experimental results reveal that the surface quality and dimensional uniformity of small hole are improved with HW-tube. With feed rate of 2.22 mm/min, a small hole with diameter of 1.52± 0.017 mm is drilled, resulting in a surface roughness of 0.331 μm.
