“Reactive oxygen species(ROS)engineering”is one of the most promising anti-tumor treatments developed in recent *** explosion of ROS will cause oxidative stress,thereby inducing tumor cell ***,ROS accumulation in tumor cells is eliminated by endogenous cellular self-regulation *** this work,a kind of endogenous/exogenous dual stimulation nanoagent noted as UMZC is *** reaction occurs between NH_(2)-MIL-88B(Fe)contained in UMZC and the overexpression of endogenous H_(2)O_(2)to generate ROS,amplified by endogenous H_(2)S of colon tumor *** addition,NH_(2)-MIL-88B(Fe)also functions to deplete glutathione(GSH)for stopping it from consuming *** nanoparticles at the core of UMZC convert near-infrared into visible light,which excites zinc phthalocyanine to initiate the photochemical reaction that generates more ROS,thus alleviating the lack of tissue penetration depth for visible *** agonist chitosan oligosaccharides induce enhancement of cellular autophagy for disrupting cellular metabolic stress and the resistance to oxidative stress of tumor cells,allowing“ROS engineering”to fully exert anti-tumor *** of ROS generation,GSH depletion,and induced cellular autophagy caused by nanoagents have promoting effects on the occurrence of ***,the nanoagents show the ability to effectively treat colon tumors.

Background:Liver cirrhosis results from many forms of chronic damage,characterized by accumulation of extracellular *** present study aimed to explore a potential non-invasive biomarker and its mechanism in the progression of liver ***:Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)dataset(GSE15654,n=216)was analyzed to screen genes associated with progression of liver cirrhosis.A total of 181 plasma samples,including healthy control(HC,n=20),chronic hepatitis B(CHB,n=77)and HBV-related liver cirrhosis(LC,n=84),were enrolled for *** vitro and in vivo experiments were employed for the mechanistic ***:GEO dataset analysis showed that relatively low mRNA-expression of C–C motif chemokine ligand 16(CCL16)was associated with elevated Child-Pugh score(P=0.034)and worse prognosis(P=0.025).Plasma CCL16 level decreased in a stepwise pattern,with a median concentration of 10.29,6.57 and 4.47 ng/mL in the HC,CHB and LC groups,respectively(P<0.001).Low plasma CCL16 was significantly related to hepatic dysfunction both in the CHB and LC groups(P<0.05).Combination of CCL16 and ALT showed improved distinguishing capability for LC compared to either *** vitro,CCL16 expression was downregulated by lipopolysaccharide and *** of CCL16 from human normal liver cell line(LO2)reduced the extracellular matrix associated proteins(Col1 and Col4)in human hepatic stellate cell line(LX-2).In vivo,the pathological feature of cirrhosis was alleviated by the hepatocytespecific expression of ***:CCL16 could be a feasible plasma marker to predict the occurrence and progression of liver ***16 might impact liver cirrhosis through inactivating hepatic stellate cells.

A new species,Berberis viridiflora ***,and a new variety,Berberis sanguinea *** ***,*** & *** are described and illustrated from Baoxing County,a biodiversity hotspot located on the eastern edge of Hengduan Mountains in Sichuan Province,Southwest China,Both new taxa resemble *** ***,but *** differs by the greenish flowers,and the petals being truncate,obtuse,or undulate at apex;while *** *** differs by the greenish or yellowish green *** features of the pollen grains of *** and the two new taxa are revealed by scanning election *** *** displays obvious similarities with a sympatric congener,Berberis multiovula *** in the morphology of flowers,stems and leaves,especially its ovule number varies greatly from 2 to 9,thus,*** characterized by the5-ovuled ovary is reduced to a synonymy of *** *** the basis of field surveys and study of herbarium specimens,a total of 16 species and varieties of Berberis are recorded from Baoxing County,and a key is *** the 16 taxa,most phenotypic variations in Chinese Berberis can be displayed,including the habit of plants,most morphological variations of stems,branches and leaves,all types of inflorescences,all color types of flowers,and nearly all types of the shape and color of *** County and its adjacent Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries possibly constitute an active diversification center of Berberis in eastern Hengduan Mountains of China.

nano-SiCp/A356 composites with different nano-SiCp contents were prepared by squeeze casting after ultrasonic treatment（UT）. The effects of SiCp content on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the nanocomposites were investigated. Theresults show that with the addition of nano-SiCp, the microstructure of nanocomposites is obviously refined, the morphology of theα（Al） grains transforms from coarse dendrites to rosette crystals, and long acicular eutectic Si phases are shortened and rounded. Themechanical properties of 0.5%, 1% and 2% （mass fraction） SiCp/A356 nanocomposites are improved continuously with the increaseof nano-SiCp content. Especially, when the SiCp content is 2%, the tensile strength, yield strength and elongation are 259 MPa,144 MPa and 5.3%, which are increased by 19%, 69% and 15%, respectively, compared with those of the matrix alloy. Theimprovement of strength is attributed to mechanisms of Hall？Petch strengthening and Orowan strengthening.

BACKGROUND:New-onset diabetes after transplantation(NODAT) has become one of the major factors that affect the overall survival and long-term life quality in liver transplantation(LT) recipients. Previous studies found that the serum adiponectin concentration of diabetic patients is significantly lower than that of healthy subjects. Adiponectin regulates the blood glucose level by increasing body sensitivity to insulin through various mechanisms. In this study, we aimed to investigate the impact of diabetes related gene polymorphisms on the development of NODAT in liver ***:A total of 256 LT patients in a single-center were selected retrospectively for the study. Genomic DNA was extracted from explanted liver tissues, and tested for twelve diabetes mellitus associated single nucleotide polymorphisms by Sequenom Mass ARRAY. Modified clinical models in predicting NODAT were established and ***:The GG genotype of ADIPOQ rs1501299 gene polymorphism was significantly more frequent in NODAT than non-NODAT LT patients(56% vs 39%, P=0.014). Dominant model(GG vs GT+TT, P=0.030) and recessive model(GT+GG vs TT, P=0.005) also confirmed the genotype distribution difference between NODAT and non-NODAT groups. Age(OR=1.048, P=0.004), BMI(OR=1.107, P=0.041), and blood tacrolimus level at 1-month LT(OR=1.170, P=0.003) were clinical independent risk factors of NODAT. Furthermore, rs1501299 could improve the ability of clinical model in predicting NODAT(AUROC=0.743, P<0.001).CONCLUSION:ADIPOQ rs1501299 gene polymorphism is associated with an increased risk of NODAT, which should be added to the clinical models in predicting the occurrence of NODAT in LT recipients.
