BACKGROUND Radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy is widely used for the treatment of rectal cancer *** the combination of radiotherapy and chemotherapy as an established preoperative neoadjuvant therapy shows high efficacy in the treatment of rectal cancer,some patients experience a response of poor tolerance and outcomes due to the long duration *** study compared short duration radiotherapy plus chemotherapy vs long duration radiotherapy plus chemotherapy for rectal cancer to determine whether short duration radiation treatment should be considered to diminish complications,reduce risk of recurrence and improve survival in patients with rectal *** To evaluate the efficacy and safety of short duration radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy for the treatment of advanced rectal *** One hundred patients with stage IIIB or higher severe rectal cancer were selected as the study subjects at The First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University between December 2018 and December *** patients were assigned to different groups based on the treatment *** patients who received preoperative short durations of radiotherapy plus chemotherapy were enrolled in an observation group and fifty patients who received conventional radiotherapy and chemotherapy were enrolled in a control *** biopsy was performed for all patients with pathological diagnosis of rectal *** expression of tumor-related factors such as RUNX3 and Ki-67 was quantitatively analyzed using immunohistochemistry in the tissues of the patients before and after ***,the duration of procedure,the amount of bleeding during the operation,the anus-conserving rate,the incidence of postoperative complications(wound infection,anastomotic leakage,postoperative intestinal obstruction,etc.)and postoperative pathology were compared between the two *** overall survival rate,recurrence rate and distant metastasis rate were a

Effect of FeSi additive in dual-chamber sample cup on thermal analysis characteristic values and vermiculating rate of compacted graphite iron

Thermal analysis plays a key role in the online inspection of molten iron *** solidification process of molten iron can be reflected by thermal analysis curves,and silicon is one of important elements affecting the solidification of molten *** this study,FeSi75 was added in one chamber of the dual-chamber sample cup,and the influences of FeSi75 additive on the characteristic values of thermal analysis curves and vermiculating rate were *** results show that with the increase of FeSi75,the start temperature of austenite formation TALfirstly decreases and then increases,but the start temperature of eutectic growth TSEF,the lowest eutectic temperature TEU,temperature at maximum eutectic reaction rate TEM,and highest eutectic temperature TERkeep always an *** temperature at final solidification point TEShas little *** FeSi75 additive has different influences on the vermiculating rate of molten iron with different vermiculation,and the vermiculating rate increases for lower vermiculation molten iron while decreases for higher *** to the thermal analysis curves obtained by a dual-chamber sample cup with 0.30wt.%FeSi75 additive in one chamber,the vermiculating rate of molten iron can be evaluated by comparing the characteristic values of these *** time differenceΔtERcorresponding to the highest eutectic temperature TERhas a closer relationship with the vermiculating rate,and a parabolic regression curve between the time differenceΔtERand vermiculating rateηhas been obtained within the range of 65%to 95%,which is suitable for the qualified melt.

Autonomous navigation of an asteroid orbiter enhanced by a beacon satellite in a high-altitude orbit

This study aims to assess the autonomous navigation performance of an asteroid orbiter enhanced using an inter-satellite link to a beacon *** navigation includes the orbit determination of the orbiter and beacon,and asteroid gravity estimation without any ground station *** measurements were acquired using satellite-to-satellite tracking(SST)and optical observation of asteroid surface *** study presents a new orbiter-beacon SST scheme,in which the orbiter circumnavigates the asteroid in a low-altitude strongly-perturbed orbit,and the beacon remains in a high-altitude weakly-perturbed *** used Asteroid 433 Eros as an example,and analyzed and designed low-and high-altitude orbits for the orbiter and *** navigation measurements were precisely modeled,extended Kalman filters were devised,and observation configuration was analyzed using the Cramer-Rao lower bound(CRLB).Monte Carlo simulations were carried out to assess the effects of the orbital inclination and altitudes of the orbiter and beacon as key influencing *** simulation results showed that the proposed SST scheme was an effective solution for enhancing the autonomous navigation performance of the orbiter,particularly for improving the accuracy of gravity estimation.

Excitonic optical properties in monolayer SnP_(2)S_(6)

quantum confinement effect and reduced dielectric screening in two-dimensional(2D)dramatically enhance theelectron-hole *** this work,we use many-body perturbation theory and Bethe-Salpeter equation(BSE)toinvestigate the electronic and excitonic optical properties of monolayer SnP_(2)S_(6).Our findings reveal that the excitoniceffect dominates the optical absorption spectra in the visible light range,and the lowest-energy exciton X0 in monolayerSnP_(2)S_(6)is optically bright with the binding energy of 0.87 eV and the radiative lifetime of~10^(-11)s,which is highly advantageousto the *** importantly,the absence of optically forbidden states below the bright statesX0 would give rise to a high quantum efficiency of 2D SnP_(2)S_(6).We also find that applied biaxial strain can further shortenthe radiative lifetime of the bright *** results imply that 2D SnP_(2)S_(6)is a promising candidate for the optoelectronicdevices.

Strain tunable excitonic optical properties in monolayer Ga_(2)O_(3)

Two-dimensional(2D)Ga_(2)O_(3)has been confirmed to be a stable structure with five atomic layer thickness *** this work,we study the quasi-particle electronic band structures and then access the excitonic optical properties through solving the Bethe-Salpeter equation(BSE).The results reveal that the exciton dominates the optical absorption in the visible light region with the binding energy as large as~1.0 eV,which is highly stable at room ***,both the dominant absorption P_(1)and P_(2)peaks are optically bright without dark exciton between them,and thus is favorable for luminescence *** calculated radiative lifetime of the lowest-energy exciton is 2.0×10^(-11)s at 0 ***,the radiative lifetime under+4%tensile strain is one order of magnitude shorter than that of the strainfree case,while it is less insensitive under the compressive *** findings set the stage for future theoretical and experimental investigation on monolayer Ga_(2)O_(3).

Strip flatness prediction of cold rolling based on ensemble methods

Aiming at the problem of insufficient prediction accuracy of strip flatness at the outlet of cold tandem rolling,the prediction performance of strip flatness based on different ensemble methods was studied and a high-precision prediction ensemble model of strip flatness at the outlet was ***,based on linear regression(LR),K nearest neighbors(KNN),support vector regression,regression trees(RT),and backpropagation neural network(BPN),bagging,boosting,and stacking ensemble methods were used for ensemble ***,three existing ensemble models,i.e.,random forest,extreme random tree(ET)and extreme gradient boosting,were used to conduct experiments and compare the *** research shows that bagging,boosting,and stacking three ensemble methods have the most significant improvement in the prediction accuracy of the regression trees model,which is increased by 5.28%,6.51%,and 5.32%,*** the same time,the stacking ensemble method improves both the simple model and the complex model,and the improvement effect on the simple base model is the greatest,which is 4.69%higher than that of the base model *** all of the ensemble models,the stacking ensemble model of level-1(ET,AdaBoost-RT,LR,BPN)paired with level-2(LR)was discovered to be the best model(EALB-LR)and can be further studied for industrial applications.

Evolution of inclusions in vacuum induction melting of superalloys containing 70%return material

The variation law of inclusions type and size in the vacuum induction melting process and ingot of Ni-based superalloy containing 70%return material was studied by industrial test sampling,and the mechanism of inclusions formation was analyzed with thermodynamic *** results show that there are mainly two types of composite inclusions in the vacuum induction melting of Ni-based superalloys,which are nitride-and oxide-based composite inclusions,like Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)-Cr_(2)O_(3),TiN-(Mo,Nb)C,*** type and proportion of inclusions from the center to the edge of the vacuum induction ingot did not change *** number density of inclusions from the center to the edge of the ingot varied less,and the size of inclusions became smaller from the center to the *** addition,thermodynamic calculations show that oxides(M_(2)O_(3))are present in the liquid phase and mainly contain Al,Ti,Cr,Fe and O *** nitride consists mainly of Ti and N and contains small amounts of Cr,C,Nb,and Mo *** is consistent with the results of industrial *** the temperature decreases,the precipitation phases such as M_(2)O_(3),MN,γ,MC,δ,γ'andμphases are gradually precipitated,where oxides and nitrides are present in the liquid *** contents of O and N elements are the main influencing factors for the inclusions content and precipitation temperature;when the nitrogen content is reduced to below 0.0015%,it can make MN precipitate below the liquid-phase line.

Visualization of cristae and mtDNA interactions via STED nanoscopy using a low saturation power probe

Mitochondria are crucial organelles closely associated with cellular metabolism and *** DNA(mtDNA)encodes a variety of transcripts and proteins essential for cellular ***,the interaction between the inner membrane(IM)and mtDNA remains elusive due to the limitations in spatiotemporal resolution offered by conventional microscopy and the absence of suitable in vivo probes specifically targeting the ***,we have developed a novel fluorescence probe called HBmito Crimson,characterized by exceptional photostability,fluorogenicity within lipid membranes,and low saturation *** successfully achieved over 500 frames of lowpower stimulated emission depletion microscopy(STED)imaging to visualize the IM dynamics,with a spatial resolution of 40 *** utilizing dual-color imaging of the IM and mtDNA,it has been uncovered that mtDNA tends to habitat at mitochondrial tips or branch points,exhibiting an overall spatially uniform ***,the dynamics of mitochondria are intricately associated with the positioning of mtDNA,and fusion consistently occurs in close proximity to mtDNA to minimize pressure during cristae *** healthy cells,>66%of the mitochondria are Class III(i.e.,mitochondria>5μm or with>12 cristae),while it dropped to<18%in *** dynamics,orchestrated by cristae remodeling,foster the even distribution of ***,in conditions of apoptosis and ferroptosis where the cristae structure is compromised,mtDNA distribution becomes *** findings,achieved with unprecedented spatiotemporal resolution,reveal the intricate interplay between cristae and mtDNA and provide insights into the driving forces behind mtDNA distribution.
