Development of fetal growth charts in twins stratified by chorionicity and mode of conception:a retrospective cohort study in China

Background:Twin pregnancies continue to increase worldwide;however,the current clinical prenatal evaluation for the intrauterine growth of twins still relies on the growth standards of *** attempted to establish a set of fetal biometric references for Chinese twin pregnancies,stratified by chorionicity and conception mode as spontaneously conceived monochorionic diamniotic(SC-MCDA),spontaneously conceived dichorionic diamniotic(SC-DCDA),and assisted reproductive technology dichorionic diamniotic(ART-DCDA)***:From 2016 to 2019,the ultrasonographic fetal biometric measurements were longitudinally collected in pregnant women,including fetal weight,biparietal diameter,head circumference,abdominal circumference,femur length,and humerus *** linear mixed models were used to test the difference of growth patterns between groups,and the growth curve of each biometric parameter was modeled by a generalized additive model for location scale and ***:A total of 929 twin pregnant women and 2019 singleton pregnant women,met the inclusion *** twin pregnancies,148 were SC-MCDA,215 were SC-DCDA,and 566 were ART-DCDA ***,SC-DCDA twins grew faster than SC-MCDA twins,while slower than ART-DCDA twins(all Pping to provide a reference for the further establishment of fetal growth reference values for Chinese twin fetuses.

Twin pregnancies have increased significantly over recent decades,mainly due to the growing rate of such pregnancies that have been achieved via assisted reproductive *** pregnancies are associated with high infant morbidity and *** obesity has been found to be significantly related to an increased risk of pre-eclampsia and other adverse *** weight gains during pregnancy may have important implications for maternal and fetus *** with excessive gestational weight gains(GWG)are more likely to increase their risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM),macrosomia,preterm birth,and fetal growth *** with singletons,GDM is also expected to be more frequent in pre-gravid obese mothers of twins.111 Although there are some guides for twin pregnancies,few researches are focused on the systematic management of twin pregnancies.

Photosynthetic response dynamics in the invasive species Tithonia diversifolia and two co-occurring native shrub species under fluctuating light conditions

To determine the invasiveness of invasive plants,many studies have compared photosynthetic traits or strategies between invasive and native ***,few studies have compared the photosynthetic dynamics between invasive and native species during light *** compared photosynthetic induction,relaxation dynamics and leaf traits between the invasive species,Tithonia diversifolia and two native species,Clerodendrum bungei and Blumea balsamifera,in full-sun and shady *** photosynthetic dynamics and leaf traits differed among *** showed a slower induction speed and stomatal opening response but had higher average intrinsic water-use efficiency than the two native species in full-sun ***,the slow induction response may be attributed to the longer stomatal length in *** had a significant effect on photosynthetic dynamics in *** and *** but not in *** shady habitat,*** had a faster photosynthetic induction response than in full-sun habitat,leading to a higher average stomatal conductance during photosynthetic induction in *** than in the two native *** contrast,*** had a larger stomatal length and slower photosynthetic induction and relaxation response in shady habitat than in full-sun habitat,resulting in higher carbon gain during photosynthetic ***,in both habitats,*** had an overall higher carbon gain during light fluctuations than the two native *** results indicated that *** can adopt more effective response strategies under fluctuating light environments to maximize carbon gain,which may contribute to its successful invasion.

Architecture Design of Protocol Controller Based on Traffic-Driven Software Defined Interconnection

To solve the problems of redundant logic resources and poor scalability in protocol controller circuits among communication networks, we propose a traffic-driven software defined interconnection(TSDI) *** unified software defined interconnection interface standards and the normalized interconnection topology are designed to implement the architecture of TSDI-based protocol controller. The key indicators of power, performance and area(PPA) can be realized while resolving the flexible interconnection of the controller. We designed a TSDI-based Rapid IO controller as an example. Compared to traditional designs, the design could achieve more protocol scalability,and Rapid IO protocol standards of Gen4 could be supported directly. The key PPA indicators, such as a lower delay of 56.1 ns and more than twice throughput of 98.1 Gbps, were achieved at the cost of a 23.4% area increase.

Estimation of Physiologic Ability and Surgical Stress scoring system for predicting complications following abdominal surgery: A metaanalysis spanning 2004 to 2022

BACKGROUND Postoperative complications remain a paramount concern for surgeons and healthcare *** To present a comprehensive analysis of the Estimation of Physiologic Ability and Surgical Stress(E-PASS)scoring system’s efficacy in predicting postoperative complications following abdominal *** A systematic search of published studies was conducted,yielding 17 studies with pertinent *** such as preoperative risk score(PRS),surgical stress score(SSS),comprehensive risk score(CRS),postoperative complications,post-operative mortality,and other clinical data were collected for *** plots were employed for continuous and binary variables,withχ2 tests assessing heterogeneity(P value).RESULTS Patients experiencing complications after abdominal surgery exhibited significantly higher E-PASS scores compared to those without complications[mean difference and 95%confidence interval(CI)of PRS:0.10(0.05-0.15);SSS:0.04(0.001-0.08);CRS:0.19(0.07-0.31)].Following the exclusion of low-quality studies,results remained valid with no discernible *** analysis indicated that variations in sample size and age may contribute to hetero-geneity in CRS *** variable meta-analysis demonstrated a correlation between high CRS and increased postoperative complication rates[odds ratio(OR)(95%CI):3.01(1.83-4.95)],with a significant association observed between high CRS and postoperative mortality[OR(95%CI):15.49(3.75-64.01)].CONCLUSION In summary,postoperative complications in abdominal surgery,as assessed by the E-PASS scoring system,are consistently linked to elevated PRS,SSS,and CRS *** CRS scores emerge as risk factors for heightened morbidity and *** study establishes the accuracy of the E-PASS scoring system in predicting postoperative morbidity and mortality in abdominal surgery,underscoring its potential for widespread adoption in effective risk assessment.

Effect of Down-regulation of MMP-2 by Quercetin on the Migration and Invasion of Uterine Fibroids Cells through the cAMP Signaling Pathway

Objective: To investigate the effect of down-regulation of matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2) by down-regulating the cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP) signaling pathway on the migration and invasion of uterine fibroids ***: A total of 65 female SD rats were randomly divided into five groups after being adaptively fed for 7 d. Except for the blank group, the remaining four groups of rats were injected with 0.05 mg/(100 g·d) estradiol benzoate and 0.5 mg/(100g·d) progesterone into the muscle to establish a uterine fibroids rat model. After successful modeling, the blank group and model group were given 200 mg/(kg·d) physiological saline by gavage,the low-dose group was given 100 mg/(kg·d) mifepristone by gavage, the medium-dose group was given 200 mg/(kg·d) mifepristone by gavage, and the high-dose group was given 300 mg/(kg·d) mifepristone by gavage. After continuous gavage treatment for 21 d,serum and uterine tissues were collected from rats to observe and compare the expression levels of MMP-2 mRNA, TIMP-2 mRNA, estradiol(E2), cAMP signaling pathway related proteins, and the migration and invasive ability of uterine fibroids cells in the five groups of rats. Results: The expression levels of MMP-2 mRNA and E2in the high-dose group were lower than those in the low-dose group and the medium-dose group, and the expression level of TIMP-2 mRNA was higher than that in the low-dose group and the medium-dose group(P<0.05). The number of cell migration in a single visual field of rats in the high-dose group was lower than that in the low-dose group and the medium-dose group(P<0.05). The number of cell invasion in a single visual field of rats in the high-dose group was lower than that in the low-dose group and the medium-dose group(P<0.05). The mRNA expression levels of cAMP, PDE and PK in the high-dose group were higher than those in the low-dose group, and the mRNA expression levels of AC in the high-dose group were lower than those in the low-dose group(P<0.

Enhancing thermoelectric performance of p-type SnTe through manipulating energy band structures and decreasing electronic thermal conductivity

SnTe has received considerable attention as an environmentally friendly alternative to the representative thermoelectric material of ***,excessive hole carrier concentration in SnTe results in an extremely low Seebeck coefficient and high thermal conductivity,which makes it exhibit relatively inferior thermoelectric *** this work,the thermoelectric performance of p-type SnTe is enhanced through regulating its energy band structures and reducing its electronic thermal conductivity by combining Bi doping with CdSe ***,the carrier concentration of SnTe is successfully suppressed via Bi doping,which significantly decreases the electronic thermal ***,the convergence and flattening of the valence bands by alloying CdSe effectively improves the effective mass of SnTe while restraining its carrier ***,a maximum figure of merit(ZT) of~ 0.87 at 823 K and an average ZT of~ 0.51 at 300-823 K have been achieved in Sn_(0.96)Bi_(0.04)Te-5%*** results indicate that decreasing the electronic thermal conductivity is an effective means of improving the performance of thermoelectric materials with a high carrier concentration.
