Inflammation is a defensive response of living tissues to damaging agents,which exists in two forms,acute inflammation and chronic inflammation,and chronic inflammation is closely related to arthritis.Currently,the commonly prescribed anti-inflammatory medications are greatly limited by high incidence of gastrointestinal erosions in the clinical applications.Rhein,a bioactive constituent of anthraquinone,exhibits excellent anti-inflammatory activities and therapeutic effects on arthritis with less gastrointestinal damages.Although there are numbers of studies on anti-inflammatory effects and mechanisms of rhein in the last few decades,to the best of our knowledge,only a few review articles pay attention to the interactive relationships of rhein on multiple inflammatory signaling pathways and cellular processes from a comprehensive perspective.Herein,we summarized anti-inflammatory effects and mechanisms of rhein and its practical applications in the treatment of arthritis,thereby providing a reference for its basic researches and clinical applications.

Excretion of manure-borne estrogens and androgens and their potential risk estimation in the Yangtze River Basin

The Yangtze River is the longest river in China, and the river basin spans one fifth of the area of the whole country. Based on statistical data, the excretion of manure-borne steroid hormones, including steroid estrogens（SEs） and steroid androgens（SAs）, in 10 provinces of China within the region has been estimated. The potential environmental and ecological risk of manure-borne steroid estrogens to the surface water in this region was also assessed. The manure-borne SE and SA excretions in the 10 provinces and municipalities vary in the order： Sichuan 〉 Hunan 〉 Hubei 〉 Yunnan 〉 Jiangsu 〉 Anhui 〉 Jiangxi 〉Chongqing 〉 Qinghai 〉 Shanghai. The highest increase of manure-borne SEs（1434.3 kg）and SAs（408.5 kg） was found in Hunan and Hubei provinces, respectively, and the total excretion in 2013 was 65% more than 15 years earlier in these two provinces. However, the emissions in Anhui and Shanghai decreased in this 15 year period of time. Swine urine,chicken feces, cattle urine, and laying hen feces were considered the dominant sources of manure-borne E1, βE2, αE2, and SAs, respectively. Although Jiangsu province did not have the largest excretion of manure-borne SEs, it had the highest level of predicted17β-estradiol equivalency（EEQs） value of 16.65 ng/L in surface water because of the limited surface water resources. According to the lowest observable effect level of 10 ng/L for17β-estradiol, the manure-borne SEs in Jiangsu province might potentially pose ecological risk to its wild aquatic organisms.

Identification and functional annotation of novel microRNAs in the proximal sciatic nerve after sciatic nerve transection

The peripheral nervous system is able to regenerate after injury, and regeneration is associated with the expression of many genes and proteins. MicroRNAs are evolutionarily conserved, small, non-coding RNA molecules that regulate gene expression at the level of translation. In this paper, we focus on the identification and functional annotation of novel microRNAs in the proximal sciatic nerve after rat sciatic nerve transection. Using Solexa sequencing, computational analysis, and quantitative reverse transcription PCR verification, we identified 98 novel microRNAs expressed on days 0, 1, 4, 7, and 14 after nerve transection. Furthermore, we predicted the target genes of these microRNAs and analyzed the biological processes in which they were involved. The identified biological processes were consistent with the known time-frame of peripheral nerve injury and repair. Our data provide an important resource for further study of the role and regulation of microRNAs in peripheral nerve injury and regeneration.

目的探讨氢气疗法减轻放射性肺损伤的作用及其具体作用机制。方法将40只C57BL/6小鼠,随机分为正常对照组、模型组、氢气治疗一组和氢气治疗二组。构建放射性肺损伤小鼠模型。HE染色观察小鼠肺组织病理变化;免疫荧光染色技术分别检测M1、M2亚型巨噬细胞表面分子标志物的表达情况,观察巨噬细胞极化情况;免疫组织化学检测肺组织中细胞因子白细胞介素6(IL-6)、肿瘤坏死因子α(TNF-α)和白细胞介素10(IL-10)的表达变化;Western blot检测NF-κB p65和P-NF-κB p65的表达情况。结果 HE染色显示,与对照组相比,模型组肺组织肺泡间隔水肿增厚、血管扩张充血,炎细胞浸润,而氢气治疗组病变比模型组明显减轻,炎症反应减弱,且治疗二组较治疗一组明显。免疫组化结果显示,与对照组相比,模型组细胞因子IL-6和TNF-α表达明显升高,而治疗组较模型组表达明显降低,治疗组抗炎因子IL-10较模型组表达升高。且治疗二组比治疗一组明显。免疫荧光显示,与对照组相比,模型组M1亚型巨噬细胞表面分子标志物表达上调,治疗组表达明显下调,同时M2亚型巨噬细胞表面分子标志物表达上调,且治疗二组较治疗一组上调明显。蛋白免疫印迹结果显示,与对照组相比,模型组P-NF-κB p65/NF-κB p65明显增加,与模型组相比,氢气治疗组明显降低,且治疗二组较治疗一组降低更加明显。结论吸入氢气疗法可能通过抑制NF-κB信号通路促进巨噬细胞M1亚型向M2亚型极化减轻放射性肺损伤的炎症反应。

Biodegradation behavior of magnesium and ZK60 alloy in artificial urine and rat models

In this work, the biodegradable and histocompatibility properties of pure Mg and ZK60 alloy wereinvestigated as new temporary implants for urinary applications. The corrosion mechanism in artificialurine was proposed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarizationtests. The corrosion potential of pure magnesium and ZK60 alloy were -1820 and -1561 mV, respectively,and the corrosion current densities were 59.66 ± 6.41 and 41.94 ± 0.53 μA cm^-2, respectively. Thein vitro degradation rates for pure Mg and ZK60 alloy in artificial urine were 0.382 and 1.023 mm/y,respectively, determined from immersion tests. The ZK60 alloy degraded faster than the pure Mg in bothartificial urine and in rat bladders (the implants of both samples are ø 3 mm × 5 mm). Histocompatibilityevaluations showed good histocompatibility for the pure Mg and ZK60 alloy during the 3 weeks postimplantationin rat bladders, and no harm was observed in the bladder, liver and kidney tissues. Theresults provide key information on the degradation properties and corrosion mechanism of pure Mg andZK60 alloy in the urinary system.

为研究网络重构与集群划分对提升配电网中分布式电源规划配置水平的可能性,提出一种动态重构与集群划分的双层划分模型,同时获得最佳重构策略和集群划分方式。通过4种方案进行DPV、ESS选址定容实验,对比DPV接入容量、年综合成本等规划指标及网络损耗、电压水平等系统运行指标。结果表明,在基于该双层划分结果的DPV、ESS选址定容方案下,DPV接入容量最大且系统年综合成本最低。经算例验证,分时段双向动态重构策略可在降低规划成本的同时大幅度拉伸DPV消纳水平的提升空间,在解决高比例分布式电源规划类问题时具有较高的参考价值。

Alzheimer's disease(AD),characterized by the accumulation of protein aggregates including phosphorylated Tau aggregates,is the most common neurodegenerative disorder with limited therapeutic agents.Autophagy plays a critical role in the degradation of phosphorylated Tau aggregates,and transcription factor EB(TFEB)is a master regulator of autophagy and lysosomal biogenesis.Thus,small-molecule autophagy enhancers targeting TFEB hold promise for AD therapy.Here,we found that celastrol,an active ingredient isolated from the root extracts of Tripterygium wilfordii(Lei Gong Teng in Chinese)enhanced TFEB-mediated autophagy and lysosomal biogenesis in vitro and in mouse brains.Importantly,celastrol reduced phosphorylated Tau aggregates and attenuated memory dysfunction and cognitive deficits in P301S Tau and 3xTg mice,two commonly used AD animal models.Mechanistical studies suggest that TFEB-mediated autophagy-lysosomal pathway is responsible for phosphorylated Tau degradation in response to celastrol.Overall,our findings indicate that Celastrol is a novel TFEB activator that promotes the degradation of phosphorylated Tau aggregates and improves memory in AD animal models.Therefore,Celastrol shows potential as a novel agent for the treatment and/or prevention of AD and other tauopathies.

Non-Resonant Structure Design of Catenary Transformer in Ultrasonic Gear Honing

To solve the design problem of transformer composed of non-resonant structure in ultrasonic gear-honing, force coupling conditions for moderately thick annular plate （MTAP） and catenary horn are proposed, and the frequency equations of the transformer, which consist of an MTAP and a catenary horn, are derived based on Mindlin＇s theory. The design parameters of the transformer were obtained by solving the frequency equations with the help of MATLAB, and its mode and frequency were deduced by the modal analysis of finite element method （FEM）, which are consistent with the theoretical design demands. The transformer design can be extended from system with thin annular plate to that with MTAP as the theoretical method by the simulation analysis of various ratios of the thickness to radius.

Association between NAFLD and Risk of Colorectal Adenoma in Chinese Han Population

Background and Aims:Colorectal cancer is associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)and other metabolic syndromes,such as obesity,abnormal blood glucose,and dyslipidemia.The relationship of NAFLD and colorectal adenoma,which is the precursor of colorectal cancer,is worthy of discussion.The aim of this study was to investigate the association between colorectal adenoma and NAFLD,colorectal adenoma and metabolic syndrome in a Chinese Han population.Methods:This retrospective study analyzed the relationship between NAFLD and colorectal adenoma in 1089 patients in Qingdao municipal hospital.Subjects were divided into a colorectal adenoma group(n=267)and a control group(n=822).NAFLD and the controlled attenuation parameter(CAP)value were determined by abdominal ultrasound and FibroScan.Results:Patients with NAFLD in the colorectal adenoma group and the control group represented 142 cases(53.2%)and 360 cases(43.8%),respectively.The mean CAP value in the colorectal adenoma group was significantly higher than that in the control group.The values of body mass index,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,aspartate aminotransferase,fasting plasma glucose,and uric acid were also significantly higher in the colorectal adenoma group than in the control group.Multifactor logistic regression analysis showed that the sex,NAFLD,CAP,body mass index,triglyceride,aspartate aminotransferase,and fasting plasma glucose were significant risk factors for colorectal adenoma.Besides,NAFLD and CAP value were significant risk factors for colorectal adenoma in males but not in females.Conclusions:NAFLD and metabolic syndrome were tightly associated with the risk of colorectal adenoma in this Chinese Han population.The effect of NAFLD on colorectal adenoma was prominent in males rather than in females.
