Despite the similarity of ionic liquid and zwitterion, their some properties such as conductivity and hydrophobicity are different. Here we developed a novel phosphonium salt having a dynamic covalent bond between anion and cation, enabling reversible structural shift between free ion pair and zwitterion. With the phosphonium salt, control of the macroscopic phase behavior in aqueous solution, i.e. forming mono-or biphasic systems, upon exposure to an acid or base was reversibly achieved, based on the structural shift of the phosphonium salt. CO_2/N_2 bubbling reversibly changed the phase behavior as well as acid/base, leading to green separation systems.

Recently, a method known as pipeline stage unification （PSU） has been proposed to alleviate the increasing energy consumption problem in modern microprocessors. PSU achieves a high energy efficiency by employing a changeable pipeline depth and its working scheme is eligible for a fine control method. In this paper, we propose a dynamic method to study fine-grained program interval behaviors based on some easy-to-get runtime processor metrics. Using this method to determine the proper PSU configurations during the program execution, we are able to achieve an averaged 13.5% energydelay-product （EDP） reduction for SPEC CPU2000 integer benchmarks, compared to the baseline processor. This value is only 0.14% larger than the theoretically idealized controlling. Our hardware synthesis result indicates that the proposed method can largely decrease the hardware overhead in both area and delay costs, as compared to a previous program study method which is based on working set signatures.

Single crystals subjected to shock compression exhibit responses with distinct two-wave structures for certain crystal ***,little is known to date regarding how the shock response depends on crystal orientation,and especially why the two-wave structure depends on the crystal *** this work,molecular dynamics simulations of shock compressions in copper single crystals are performed to investigate the orientation dependence of shock responses and the corresponding deformation *** copper single crystals with[001],[011],[012],and[123]crystal orientations along the depth direction are ***[011],[012],and[123]crystal orientations of copper single crystals show distinct two-wave structures in their shock responses,while such a two-wave structure in the shock response is not seen for those orientations having a[001]crystal *** potential causes are analyzed by considering the propagation velocities of both elastic and plastic *** develop a technique for identifying twin structures in face-centered cubic crystals and this technique can effectively identify the twin *** morphology of shock-induced defects(e.g.,dislocations and twins)shows the significant dependence of crystal orientation and the mechanisms behind these are discussed in ***,the Johnson-Cook constitutive model describing dynamic deformations at high temperatures and high strain rates is used to analyze the relationships between the shock responses and microscopic *** predictions of the Johnson-Cook constitutive model are consistent with the results of the molecular dynamics simulations.

An artificial cloud seeding experiment was performed over the Japan Sea in winter to show how massive seeding could be effective to mitigate heavy snowfall *** results showed that 20 min after cloud seeding,a portion of the radar echo beneath the seeding track was weakened to divide the radar echo into two *** order to analyze the results,a numerical simulation was conducted by using the Weather Research and Forecasting model verion *** this simulation,the seeding effects were represented as phenomena capable of changing rain particles by accreting cloud ice and snow to form graupel particles and by changing cloud liquid water to snow *** graupel particles fell rapidly,thus temporarily intensifying the rainfall,which subsequently ***,the weakened radar echo in the field experiment is deemed to have been caused by the increase in rapidly falling graupel particles.

We have investigated the electronic states of clean Fe(001) and oxygen adsorbed Fe(001)–p(1 × 1)-O films epitaxially grown on MgO(001) substrates by means of polarization-dependent angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)and extensive density-functional theory(DFT) calculations. The observed Fermi surfaces and band dispersions of pure Fe near the Fermi level were modified upon oxygen adsorption. By the detailed comparison of ARPES and DFT results of the oxygen adsorbed Fe surface, we have clarified the orbital-dependent p–d hybridization in the topmost and second Fe ***, the observed energy levels and Fermi wave numbers for the oxygen adsorbed Fe surface were deviated from the DFT calculations depending on the orbital characters and momentum directions, indicating an anisotropic interplay of the electron correlation and p–d hybridization effects in the surface region.

Analysis of Machinable Structures and Their Wettability of Rotary Ultrasonic Texturing Method

Tailored surface textures at the micro- or nanoscale dimensions are widely used to get required functional performances. Rotary ultrasonic texturing （RUT） technique has been proved to be capable of fabricating periodic micro- and nanostructures. In the present study, diamond tools with geometrically defined cutting edges were designed for fabricating different types of tailored surface textures using the RUT method. Surface generation mechanisms and machinable structures of the RUT process are analyzed and simulated with a 3D-CAD program. Textured surfaces generated by using a triangular pyramid cutting tip are constructed. Different textural patterns from several micrometers to several tens of micrometers with few burrs were successfully fabricated, which proved that tools with a proper two-rake-face design are capable of removing cutting chips efficiently along a sinusoidal cutting locus in the RUT process. Technical applications of the textured surfaces are also discussed. Wetting properties of textured aluminum surfaces were evaluated by combining the test of surface roughness features. The results show that the real surface area of the textured aluminum surfaces almost doubled by comparing with that of a flat surface, and anisotropic wetting properties were obtained due to the obvious directional textural features.

d-Camphor and their derivatives have been widely used as chiral auxiliaries and synthons for organic synthesis, and our attempts are focused onto the new functionalization of these skeletons through the generation of oxidized variants of thiones and selones through in situ generation of novel oxidized variants of bornane-2-thiones and selones. In this paper, a novel generation and chemical conversion of these reactive intermediates are presented.

This paper described the use of fy ash for soil amelioration of acidic soils to promote plant *** mining sites,acid sulfate soils/rocks,which contain sulfde minerals(*** FeS_(2)),have appeared as a result of overburden *** excessively acidic condition inhibits plant growth due to the dissolution of harmful elements,such as Al,Fe,and *** ash,an alkaline byproduct of coal combustion generated in thermal power plants is expected to be adopted to ameliorate acidic ***,the mixing ratio of fy ash must be considered because excessive addition of fy ash can have a negative impact on plant growth due to its physical/chemical *** pot trials using Acacia mangium demonstrate the evolution of plant growth with a 5%–10%addition of fy ash into acidic *** the acidic soil has a high potential for metal dissolution,the metal ions leached from the acidic soil are large,making it difcult to improve plant growth due to osmotic and ionic *** work suggests that the efects of fy ash on metal ions leached from the soil have to be considered for the amelioration of acidic soil.
