Objective:Metabolic syndrome is a complex medical condition that has become an alarming epidemic,but an effective therapy for this disease is still *** use of the herbal formula Huangqisan(HQS)to treat diabetes is documented in the Chinese medical literature as early as 1117 A.D.;however,its therapeutic effects and underlying mechanisms remain ***:To investigate the beneficial effects of HQS on metabolic disorders,high-fat diet-induced obesity(DIO),leptin receptor dysfunction(db/db)and low-density lipoprotein receptor-knockout(LDLR^(-/-))mice were *** mice were treated with either HQS or ***,liver tissue,white fat tissue and brown adipose tissue were harvested at the end of the *** disease-related parameters were evaluated to test effects of HQS against diabetes,obesity and *** arches from LDLR^(-/-)mice were analyzed to investigate the effects of HQS on ***-sequence,quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot were performed to investigate the mechanisms of HQS against metabolic ***:HQS lowered body weight,fasting blood glucose and serum lipid levels and improved glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity in DIO mice and db/db mice(P<0.05).HQS also blocked atherosclerotic plaque formation in LDLR^(^(-/-)) *** suppressed de novo lipid synthesis by reducing the expression of messenger RNA for sterol regulatory element-binding factor 1,stearyl coenzyme A desaturase 1 and fatty acid synthase,and enhancing adenosine 5’-monophosphate-activated protein kinase signaling in both in vivo and in vitro experiments,indicating potential mechanisms for HQS’s activity against ***:HQS is effective for reversing metabolic disorder and has the potential to be used as therapy for metabolic syndrome.

Owing to their high performance and earth abundance,copper sulfides(Cu_(2-x)S)have attracted wide attention as a promising medium-temperature thermoelectric *** and grain-boundary engineering are explored to tune the electrical transport and phonon scattering of Cu_(2-x)S based on the liquid-like copper *** multiscale architecture-engineered Cu_(2-x)S are fabricated by a room-temperature wet chemical synthesis combining mechanical mixing and spark plasma *** observed electrical conductivity in the multiscale architecture-engineered Cu_(2-x)S is four times as much as that of the Cu_(2-x)S sample at 800 K,which is attributed to the potential energy filtering effect at the new grain ***,the multiscale architecture in the sintered Cu_(2-x)S increases phonon scattering and results in a reduced lattice thermal conductivity of 0.2 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1) and figure of merit(zT)of 1.0 at 800 *** a zT value is one of the record values in copper sulfide produced by chemical *** results suggest that the introduction of nanostructure and formation of new interface are effective strategies for the enhancement of thermoelectric material properties.

AIM To investigate the adjusting effects of the Yanggan jieyu (YGJY, nourishing the liver and alleviate mental depression) decoction on the plasma concentration of fibronectin (FN), fibronectin receptor (FNR), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF α) and the activity of interleukin 1 (IL 1) in patients with cirrhosis. METHODS Thirty four cases of cirrhosis (in decompensation) were divided into YGJY decotion treated group and control group treated by routine method. FN, FNR and TNF α were measured with ELESA and expressed as mg/L (FN, FNR) and ng/L (TNF α), and IL 1 was measured by mice thymocyte proliferation using β scintillation counter and expressed as cpm. RESULTS In YGJY decoction treated group, before treatment, FN was 247 9±97 2, FNR 5 6±2 7, TNF α 83 9±7 1 and IL 1 was 2760 8±813 6, and after treatment. FN was 298 3±93 2 ( P 0 05), FNR 5 4±1 2 ( P >0 05), TNF α 100 6±15 5 ( P >0 05) and IL 1 was 2360 6±860 0 ( P >0 05), the plasma levels of FN, TNF α, FNR and IL 1 did not change signifiantly. CONCLUSION YGJY decoction could prevent the process of the hepatic fibrosis by readjusting the plasma levels of FN, FNR, TNF α and IL 1 mediating acivities in cirrhosis, which is of clinical significance.

In this paper,a multi-bus distributed Power Conditioning Unit(PCU)is proposed for the Space Solar Power Station with large scale photovoltaic(PV)array and power levels reaching MW *** this unit,there are multiple independent PV *** each PV array,there are multiple independent PV *** this paper,a V-P droop control method with adaptive droop coefficient is proposed,which modifies the droop intercept based on the bus voltage deviation and the power per unit value of the PV *** method ensures the accuracy of bus voltage and achieves proportional distribution of power between PV arrays based on the proposed topology structure in this *** the load changes or the output power of the PV array fluctuates,this method can ensure that power is distributed *** principle and control method of the proposed droop control method is analyzed in this *** effectiveness of the method is verified through MATLAB/Simulink simulation and *** and experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve power distributed proportionally when load changes and PV output power fluctuates,reduce bus voltage error caused by line impedance and differences in rated power of different PV arrays,and improve the performance of PV power generation system applied to space.

The application of metalDorganic frameworks(MOFs)is hindered by several crucial factors,including low photocatalytic efficiency,poor stability and challenges in *** this study,MIL-53(Fe)was grown in situ on a charcoal sponge(CS)with a large surface area,excellent mechanical properties,and high photocatalytic efficiency using a solvothermal method,thus addressing the above-mentioned shortcomings of MOF ***,CS/MIL-53(Fe)has an amazing light-harvesting capacity in the visible range,leading to a significant improvement in the utilization of *** results of the experiments indicate that CS/MIL-53(Fe)displays a higher photocatalytic activity(87%Cr(Ⅵ))when exposed to visible light than CS(58%)or MIL-53(Fe)(27%),attributing to the increased separation of photogenerated carriers.e-is the main reactive radical and dominates the photocatalytic reduction process,rooting from that e-can reduce Cr(Ⅵ)to low-toxicity Cr(Ⅲ).This study presents a novel method for constructing photocatalysts with large surface areas,superior mechanical characteristics,and enhanced photocatalytic ***,it achieves the resource utilization of agricultural and forestry waste.

A warm corona has been widely proposed to explain the soft excess(SE)in X-ray above the 2-10 ke V power law extrapolation in Active Galactic Nuclei(AGNs).In actual spectral fittings,the warm coronal seed photon temperature(T_s)is usually assumed to be far away from the soft X-ray,but kT_scan reach close to 0.1 ke V in the standard accretion disk *** this study,we used Monte Carlo simulations to obtain radiation spectra from a slab-like warm corona and fitted the spectra using the spherical-geometry-based routine THCOMP or a thermal *** findings reveal tha high T_scan influence the fitting results.A moderately high kT_s(around 0.03 ke V)can result in an apparent low-temperature and flat SE,while an extremely high kT_s(around 0.07 ke V)can even produce an unobserved blackbody-like *** conclusions indicate that,for spectral fittings of the warm coronal radiation(SE in AGNs),kT_sshould be treated as a free parameter with an upper limit,and an accurate coronal geometry is necessary when kT_s>0.01 ke V.

A real-world study of the differences in Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis and treatment rules for coronavirus disease 2019 between Northern and Southern China

OBJECTIVE:To explore the differences in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)diagnosis and treatment rules for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)between Northern and Southern China based on the real-world data from 982 COVID-19 ***:All consecutive cases of COVID-19 admitted to the TCM department of designated COVID-19 hospitals in eight provinces and cities were retrospectively *** were divided into a Northern and a Southern group according to the location of the admitting *** symptoms,syndrome elements,syndrome distribution and herbal treatments were *** core prescriptions were extracted using the multiscale backbone-based network comparison algorithm(msbNC).RESULTS:The distribution of syndrome elements showed that dampness was common in Northern and Southern China,wind and heat were more often present in the South,while fire toxin and spleen deficiency were more often encountered in the *** distribution of syndromes showed that the South was dominated by heat dampness accumulating in the lung(55.69%),while the North was dominated by dampness-toxin stagnating in the lung(44.90%).The results of core prescription mining showed that dispelling dampness,dispersing wind,clearing heat and strengthening spleen were the common treatment methods in Northern and Southern *** mild cases,Jinyinhua(Flos Lonicerae)and Lianqiao(Fructus Forsythiae Suspensae)were often used in the South to clear heat and relieve exterior symptoms,while Chaihu(Radix Bupleuri Chinensis)and Huangqin(Radix Scutellariae Baicalensis)were often used in the North to relieve muscles by expelling *** moderate cases,Chaihu(Radix Bupleuri Chinensis),Qinghao(Herba Artemisiae Annuae),and Shigao(Gypsum Fibrosum)were often used to clear heat of Tri-jiao Channel and stomach in the South,while Fuling(Poria),Chenpi(Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae),and Dangshen(Radix Codonopsis)were often used to invigorate spleen and remove dampness in the *** severe cases
