Three-Photon Absorption in Zno Film Using Ultra Short Pulse Laser

The three-photon absorption (3PA) in nanostructure wide-band gap ZnO semiconductor material is observed under high intensity femtosecond Titanium-Sapphire laser of 800 nm wavelength excitation. The ZnO film was prepared by chemical spray pyrolysis technique with substrate temperature of 400℃. The optical properties concerning the absorp-tion, transmission, reflection, Raman and the photoluminescence spectra are studied for the prepared film. The structure of the ZnO film was tested with the X-Ray diffraction and it was found to be a polycrystalline with recognized peaks oriented in (002), and (102). The measured of three photon absorption coefficient was found to be about 0.0166 cm3/Gwatt2, which is about five times higher than the bulk value. The fully computerized z-scan system was used to measure the nonlinear coefficients from the Gaussian fit of the transmitted laser incident.

AIM:To evaluate the ability of the McGill Brisbane Symptom Score(MBSS)to predict survival in resectable pancreatic head adenocarcinoma(PHA)***:All PHA patients(n=83)undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy at the McGill University Health Center,Quebec between 1/2001-1/2010 were *** related to patient and cancer characteristics,MBSS variables,and treatment were collected;univariable and multivariable survival analyses were *** obtained complete follow-up until February 2011 in all patients through the database of the provincial health insurance plan of *** unique health insurance numbers of these patients were used to retrieve information from this database which captures all billable clinical encounters,and ensures 100%actual survival ***:Median survival was 23 mo overall:45 mo for patients with low MBSS,17 mo for high MBSS(P=0.005).At twelve months survival was 83.3%(95%CI:66.6-92.1)vs 58.1%(95%CI:42.1-71.2)in those with low vs high MBSS,and24 mo survival was 63.8%(95%CI:45.9-77.1)and 34.0%(95%CI:20.2-48.2)*** the multivariate Cox model(stratified by chemotherapy),after addition of clinically meaningful covariates,MBSS was the variable with the strongest association with survival(HR=2.63;P=0.001).Adjuvant chemotherapy interacted with MBSS category such that only high MBSS patients accrued a *** univariate analysis we found a lower mortality in high MBSS but not low MBSS patients receiving adjuvant *** interaction variable,on Cox model,resulted in an adjusted mortality HR for the high MBSS(compared to low MBSS)of 4.14(95%CI:1.48-11.64)without chemotherapy and 2.11(95%CI:1.06-4.17)with ***:The MBSS is a simple prognostic tool for resectable *** categorization of patients according to the MBSS allows effective stratification of patients to guide therapy.

Magnetic resonance imaging characterization of circumferential and longitudinal strain under various coronary interventions in swine

AIM:To compare the acute changes in circumferential and longitudinal strain after exposing a coronary artery to various interventions in ***:Percutaneous balloon angioplasty catheter was guided to location aid device(LAD)under X-ray fluoroscopy to create different patterns of ischemic ***(n=32)were equally divided into 4 groups:controls,90 min LAD occlusion/reperfusion,LAD microembolization,and combined LAD occlusion/microembolization/*** days after interventions,cine,tagged and viability magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)were acquired to measure and compare left and right circumferential strain,longitudinal strain and myocardial viability,*** were obtained using HARP and semi-automated threshold method and statistically analyzed using unpaired *** and vascular damage was characterized ***:Coronary microemboli caused greater impairment in l left ventricular(LV)circumferential strain and dyssynchrony than LAD occlusion/reperfusion despite the significant difference in the extent of myocardial *** also caused significant decrease in peak systolic strain rate of remote myocardium and LV *** MRI demonstrated the interaction between LV and right ventricular(RV)at 3 d after *** increase in RV free wall longitudinal strain was seen in response to all *** MRI,histochemical staining and microscopy revealed different patterns of myocardial damage and microvascular ***:Cine MRI revealed subtle changes in LV strain caused by various ischemic *** also demonstrated the interaction between the right and left ventricles after coronary *** microemboli with and without acute myocardial infarction(AMI)cause complex myocardial injury and ventricular dysfunction that is not replicated in solely AMI.

Study on Feeding Effect of Different Levels of Protein and Energy on Production Performance of Pregnant Mother and Neo-Natal Calves

The present study was undertaken to assess feeding effect on productive and reproductive performances of pre-natal and post-natal Red Chittagong Cattle (RCC) cows under on-station condition. A total of 16 pregnant RCC cows having pregnancy 6-7 months and between 1-3 parities was selected for the study and was allocated randomly into four dietary treatment groups. There are four type diets, i. e., T0 (standard diet according to National Research Council (NRC), 1995), T1 (5% below standard diet), T2 (5% above standard diet), T3 (10% above standard diet) and a control treatment T4 (maintained as farm practice). The energy and protein requirements of experimental cows were determined as per standard developed by NRC. The results revealed that crude protein (CP) and metabolizable energy (ME, MJ/day) requirements among cows of different dietary groups were not significantly different, although CP requirements between T1 and T3 differed significantly. Total dry mater (DM) and ME intake differed significantly (P 0.05) among cows of all dietary groups, but CP intake from roughage varied significantly (P 0.05) variation of calf birth weights for all dietary groups, although lower birth weight was found in farm practice groups T4.
