Since its launch in 2011, the Materials Genome Initiative（MGI） has drawn the attention of researchers from academia,government, and industry worldwide. As one of the three tools of the MGI, the use of materials data, for the first time, has emerged as an extremely significant approach in materials discovery. Data science has been applied in different disciplines as an interdisciplinary field to extract knowledge from data. The concept of materials data science has been utilized to demonstrate its application in materials science. To explore its potential as an active research branch in the big data era, a three-tier system has been put forward to define the infrastructure for the classification, curation and knowledge extraction of materials data.

The bloom forming dinoflagellate, Ceratium furca, has been linked with coastal eutrophication worldwide in tropical and subtropical locations. During the summer of 2007, an unusual 6-month long bloom of C. furca was observed in Pago Pago Harbor, Tutuila Island, American Samoa. Incidents of dinoflagellate blooms in this area have not been previously reported. The bloom was first reported in May and dissipated in November 2007. In February-March 2009, a similar C. furca bloom was observed. During both blooms, no fish mortality events were reported. Maximum cell counts were observed on September 20, 2007 at 9 200 cell/ml. At this time, total nitrogen was measured at 1.2 mg/l while total phosphate was below detection limits. Changes in land use practices may have been the primary driver of these blooms. Intense fertilization of athletic fields coupled with ineffective management strategies is hypothesized to have a direct link to the increase in nutrients found in the Pago Pago Harbor and may have been the trigger for the initialization of these blooms. During 2008, the fields were not used due to an infestation of the fire ant, Solenopsis geminata. Once controlled, the fields were opened again in 2009 and fertilizers were applied in January, a month before the bloom was observed.

This study represents a continuation of the Florida hotspot of tadpole abnormality found in the Southwest Florida suburban roadside drainage ditches in 2012 to determine if the adult frogs and toads frequenting the study sites were anatomically *** gross examination of all organs included 397 adult anurans and 40 metamorphs representing five anuran species:Osteopilus septentrionalis(N=364),Rhinella marina(N=60),lithobates sphenocephala(N=7),Anaxyrus terrestris(N=5)and Anaxyrus americanus(N=1).The gonads,liver,kidney and intestines were abnormal at a frequency of 87.4%.The few normal anurans(12.6%)were females and young male *** found a significant difference in organ abnormality type and f requency between *** all f rog and toad males had testicular abnormality(92%)with only 6%with normal testes,whereas the female gonad abnormality was lower,at 41.6%.Hermaphroditism was found in both sexes at a frequency of 26.2%.The toads had a significantly higher frequency of hermaphroditism than the *** toad hermaphroditism frequency was found to be 40%,whereas the frog hermaphroditism 23.3%.A hermaphrodite Cane toad male with a female phenotype coexisted with the normal male phenotype *** fertility of 27 in situ pairs was *** fertile testicular abnormal male and hermaphrodite pairs produced offspring with abnormal larval *** information adds new evidence of the effect of chemicals on wild populations and the effect on non-target species which has always been underestimated.

Background The rate of intravenous tissue plasminogen activator(IVtPA)administered to stroke mimics(SM)occurs in 24%-44%of telestroke *** We reviewed 270 suspected acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)patients who were evaluated by telestroke and received IVtPA from 1 July 2016 to 30 September 2017 at our academic comprehensive stroke *** Among 270 AIS patients who received IVtPA via telestroke,64(23.7%)were diagnosed with *** with patients who had a stroke,the SM group was younger(mean age 56.4 vs 68.2,plikely to be female(60.9%vs 45.6%,p=0.0324)and had longer door-to needle times(85.3 vs 69.9,p=0.0008).The most common SM diagnoses were migraine 26(40.6%),conversion disorder 12(18.8%),encephalopathy 7(10.9%)and unmasking(9.4%).Among the SM,migraine and conversion disorder were younger compared with the other subgroups(pl exam elements were noted more frequently in conversion disorder(66.7%)and migraine(34.6%),but rare in other diagnoses(p=0.006).Among the SM,23(35.9%)had a history of a prior similar episodes,and 15(23.4%)had a history of more than 5 *** In our telestroke programme,23.7%of those administered thrombolysis had a final diagnosis of SM.

This review focuses on the roles antioxidants and prooxidants in colorectal cancer(CRC).Considerable evidence suggests that environmental factors play key roles in the incidence of sporadic *** pro-oxidant factors play an etiological role in CRC it is reasonable to expect causal interconnections between the wellcharacterized risk factors for CRC,oxidative stress and *** smoking,a high dietary consumption of n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids and alcohol intake are all associated with increased CRC *** risk factors are all pro-oxidant stressors and their connections to oxidative stress,the intestinal microbiome,intestinal microfold cells,cyclooxygenase-2 and CRCare detailed in this *** a strong case can be made for pro-oxidant stressors in causing CRC,the role of food antioxidants in preventing CRC is less *** is clear that not every micronutrient with antioxidant activity can prevent *** is plausible,however,that the optimal food antioxidants for preventing CRC have not yet been critically *** evidence suggests that RRR-gamma-tocopherol(the primary dietary form of vitamin E)or other"non-alpha-tocopherol"forms of vitamin E(e.g.,tocotrienols)might be *** is an antioxidant and its consumption is linked to a decreased risk of CRC.

Nanoparticles reinforced steels have many advantaged mechanical *** manufacturing offers a new method for fabricating nanoparticles reinforced high performance metal *** this work,we report the application of low energy ball milling in mixing nanoparticles and micron 316 l *** this method,0.3 and 1.0 wt% Y2 O3 nanoparticles can be uniformly distributed on the surface of 316 l powder with the parameters of ball-to-powder ratio at 1:1,speed at 90 rpm and 7 h of *** matrix 316 l powders remain spherical in shape after the mixing *** the meantime,the effect of low energy ball milling and the addition of Y2 O3 nanoparticles on the powder characteristics(flowability,apparent density and tap density) are also *** show that the process of low energy ball milling itself can slightly decrease the flowability and apparent density of the 316 l *** addition of 0.3 and 1.0 wt% Y2 O3 nanoparticles can also decrease the flowability,the tap density and the apparent density compared with the original 316 l *** of these changes result from the rough surface of the mixed powder produced by ball milling and the addition of Y2 O3 *** powder’s rough surface can increase the coefficient of friction of *** mixture of 316 l powder and Y2 O3 nanoparticles can be successfully used for selective laser melting(SlM).The relative density of SlM 316 l-Y2 O3 is measured at 99.5%.However,Y2 O3 agglomerations were observed which is due to the poor wettability between 316 l and Y2 O3.

Post Dural Puncture Headache—Review and Suggested New Treatment

Objectives: After reading this article, readers should be able to recognize Post Dural Puncture Headache, understand its mechanism and diagnostic criteria, evaluate the different treatment options available, and be familiar with a novel treatment option. Background: Post-dural puncture headache is the most common serious complication resulting from lumbar puncture and epidural or spinal anesthetics. The syndrome is characterized by severe headache that occurs within 48 hours following the puncture, located in the frontal and/or occipital region, worsened in the upright position and refractory to routine analgesia. The syndrome incidence was reported to be approximately 1% with typical obstetric anesthesiology practice which reflects more than 20,000 cases per 2014 in the US. Two possible mechanisms are hypothesized as responsible for this syndrome;cerebrospinal fluid leakage and pneumocephalus. Multiple methods of treatment have been applied with wide-ranging results. Design or Methods: Review article with introduction of a novel treatment option. Results: We postulate that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy can be used to treat post-dural puncture headache. The rationale for treatment is dual: enhancement of fibroblast proliferation at the site of dural puncture to facilitate faster closure of the tear and compression of air bubbles in case of pneumocephalus according to Boyle’s law. We also claim that hyperbaric oxygen therapy should be considered a prophylactic treatment, if a dural tear is suspected.

Ventricular Tachycardia Storm (VTS) with hemodynamic instability is a life-threatening arrhythmia more often presents in patients with structural heart disease. lack of response to cardioversion and/or antiarrhythmic drugs will have fatal consequences. We report a case of a hemodynamically unstable patient with Ventricular Tachycardia Storm refractory to intravenous antiarrhythmic medications, which finally responded to a slow bolus of IV potassium chloride. This case emphasizes the importance of identifying an electrolyte imbalance as a possible cause of a Ventricular Tachycardia storm and its rapid correction as an addition to the usual pharmacological treatment.
