Capsicum is a nutritious vegetable and its cultivation in farms is getting popular in Bangladesh. Although many efforts have lain to explore better yielding and nutritionally rich cultivars with suitable modern cultivation techniques but still have to find the desired outcome. Thus, it’s necessary to conduct further research to identify the high-yielding and nutritious capsicum cultivars in Bangladesh. An experiment was conducted from July 2021 to June 2022 at the Bangladesh Institute of Research and Training on Applied Nutrition (BIRTAN) research field with three cultivars of capsicum: B0 = California Wonder, B1 = BARI Misti Morich-1 and B2 = BARI Misti Morich-2 and three mulching: T0 = No mulching, T1 = Water hyacinth, T2 = Poly Mulching in randomized complete block design with three replications to identify better quality capsicum cultivar and suitable mulching material. Among cultivars the BARI Misti Morich-2 (B2) showed increased agronomic parameters like number of branches and effective branches per plant, leaves length and width, consequently yield and yield contributing traits were also enhanced like fruits per plant, fruit length, fruit diameter and yield per plant (25.97%, 4.54%, 3.64% and 21.43%, respectively). Poly Mulching (T2) increased agronomic traits, yield traits and yield (0.61 kg) than BARI Misti Morich-1 (T1). The combined effect of B2T2 increased the number of branches per plant, effective branches per plant, leaves length and breadth by 40%, 90%, 15.57% and 26.22%, respectively, hence resulting in an increased yield of 20%. BARI Misti Morich-2 cultivar showed an increase in Fe, Zn and Vitamin-C content of 26.24% and 23.10%, 8.82% and 5.14%, and 6.03% and 5.74% than B0 and B1 cultivars, respectively. Effect of Trimetazidine on Functional Capacity in Patient with Ischaemic Cardiomyopathy (TOFCAPI)

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of trimetazidine on exercise capacity via a six-minute walk test in patients with ischaemic cardiomyopathy and also evaluate the effect of trimetazidine on left ventricular function via echocardiography in the same population. Methods: This prospective observational study, conducted at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Dhaka, Bangladesh, enrolled 200 patients with ischaemic cardiomyopathy and a depressed left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF Results: In this study (n = 200) of ischaemic cardiomyopathy patients, the mean age was 58 years, with 76% of the patients being male. All study subjects received GDMT (Guideline-Directed Medical Therapy) for angina and heart failure. Those who received the modified released form of trimetazidine developed lesions during the 1st and 2nd follow-ups, during which the LVEF, LVIDd, and six-minute walk distance significantly improved (p Conclusion: The findings of the present study demonstrated that the addition of modified-release trimetazidine to GDMT can improve exercise capacity and left ventricular function in patients with ischaemic cardiomyopathy.

Erosion and runoff reduction potential of vetiver grass for hill slopes:A physical model study

Severe erosion is caused by intense rainfall in tropical regions. The erodible soil of steep hill slopes,accompanied by destruction of vegetation due to human interventions results in accelerated erosion. A sustainable and cost-effective solution such as vetiver grass(Chrysopogon zizanioides) is, thus, required to control the erosion process. In the current study, 6 small-scale glass models: 1 bare and 5 with vetiver grass, having a slope angle of 37°have been constructed. One year after planting, artificial rainfall of extremely high intensity was applied to all 6 small models and the role of vetiver canopy and roots in erosion and runoff control was observed. To see the effect of soil texture, one among these 5 models was made with silty sand and others contained sandy silt. The results demonstrated that, for sandy silt, the inclusion of vetiver reduced the soil loss by 94%-97%, and soil detachment rates were lowered by 95%.The average runoff also was reduced by 21%. The canopy cover showed a positive impact on reducing both quantities. An increase in average root diameter from 1.6 to 2.5 mm increases the soil loss due to its negative impact on added cohesion. The added cohesion showed a linearly negative correlation with soil loss. A composite system of vetiver and jute geotextile was most effective in erosion reduction among 4vegetated models with sandy silt. Under same vetiver planting layout, the grass covered model of silty sand yielded 84% lower erosion and 62.5% lower runoff than the grass covered one with sandy silt. Thus,vetiver was more effective in erosion and runoff reduction for soil with a greater percentage of sand, and soil type dominated the erosion process.

Dynamics and Hopf Bifurcation Analysis of a Chemostat Model with Modified Growth Rate and Variable Yield Coefficient

The objective of this study is to analyze a chemostat model of very simple type with the Haldane expression of growth rate and a variable yield coefficient. The proposed modified model is analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Analytic conditions for stability and optimality are determined for washout and no washout equilibrium solutions. One of the main focuses of the study is to determine parameter values for which Hopf Bifurcations occur in a bioreactor. It has been shown that the maximum stable non-washout equilibrium exits at a residence time under suitable parameter values. Hopf bifurcation is observed at three different conditions of the parameters.

Impact of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium on Brown Planthopper and Tolerance of Its Host Rice Plants

The brown planthopper(BPH),Nilaparvata lugens(St?l),appeared as a devastating pest of rice in Asia. Experiments were conducted to study the effects of three nutrients,nitrogen(N),phosphorus(P) and potassium(K),on BPH and its host rice plants. Biochemical constituents of BPH and rice plants with varying nutrient levels at different growth stages,and changes in relative water content(RWC) of rice plants were determined in the laboratory. Feeding of BPH and the tolerance of rice plants to BPH with different nutrient levels were determined in the nethouse. Concentrations of N and P were found much higher in the BPH body than in its host rice plants,and this elemental mismatch is an inherent constraint on meeting nutritional requirements of BPH. Nitrogen was found as a more limiting element for BPH than other nutrients in rice plants. Application of N fertilizers to the rice plants increased the N concentrations both in rice plants and BPH while application of P and K fertilizers increased their concentrations in plant tissues only but not in BPH. Nitrogen application also increased the level of soluble proteins and decreased silicon content in rice plants,which resulted in increased feeding of BPH with sharp reduction of RWC in rice plants ultimately caused susceptible to the pest. P fertilization increased the concentration of P in rice plant tissues but not changed N,K,Si,free sugar and soluble protein contents,which indicated little importance of P to the feeding of BPH and tolerance of plant against BPH. K fertilization increased K content but reduced N,Si,free sugar and soluble protein contents in the plant tissues which resulted in the minimum reduction of RWC in rice plants after BPH feeding,thereby contributed to higher tolerance of rice plants to brown planthopper.

背景:植入式输液港装置(Totally Implantable Venous Access Port,TIVAP)和外周植入式中心静脉导管(Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters,PICC)是在接受化疗或完全肠外营养的肿瘤患者中应用最广泛的两种中心静脉通路。TIVAP的使用寿命比PICC长,而PICC的初期费用比TIVAP低。然而如今并没有很好的指南可以供临床医生在患者中以最低的成本安全地使用它们。因此,比较TIVAP和PICC在肿瘤患者中使用的并发症和费用差异,以及各自的优缺点,包括使用期间或使用后所导致的线路闭塞、感染、导管相关血栓、渗出、静脉炎、错位和意外取出率等,这可以使临床医师为患者做出更好的决策提供依据。医生通过熟悉它们的使用方法、相关并发症、以及并发症的诊断和管理,可以更确保患者的安全以及减轻患者的额外经济负担。方法:我们严格按照cochrane系统评价及Meta分析操作指南的要求,通过检索美国国立医学图书馆(The United States National Library of Medicine,NLM)、澳大利亚循证护理合作中心(Joanna Briggs Institute,JBI)、Cochrane图书馆、美国科学网(Web of Science)、CINAHL数据库、中国生物医学文献数据库(China Biology Medicine disc,CBM)、中国知网(China National Knowledge Infrastructure,CNKI)、谷歌学术(Google Scholars)等数据库,全面的搜索出在癌症患者中应用TIVAP和PICC的相关回顾性研究的英文文献;然后采用病例对照研究质量评估标准表(Newcastle-ottawa quality assessment scale,NOS评分量表),对每一篇病例对照研究的病例组和对照组的病例从病例选择、可比性、暴露等三个维度进行分层评估,满分9分;接着提取其中的每个病例的导管寿命、导管相关并发症如:导管闭塞、导管引起的感染、导管位置不正、导管相关血栓、导管存留导致的过敏、导管滞留引起的疼痛以及导管的使用期间的总费用,其中费用还分为6个月的费用和12个月的费用情况等相关数据。两名审查员共同完成筛选、试验选择、质量评估、数据提取等工作,当遇到有分歧时,通过共同讨论,得出一致性结果,从而确定最终的评分及纳入文章。得到的数据采用STATA10软件进行Meta分析,比值比(Odds Ratio,OR)值及95%置信区间(Confidence Interval,CI)用于评估二分类变量,其中OR值=1意味着两组发生率相等、两发生率无统计学意义,OR值的森林图的无效竖线在横坐标=1处。标准均值差(Standardized Mean Difference,SMD)用于计算连续性变量如导管寿命和导管相关总花费,是试验组的均数减去对照组均数的差,SMD=0代表了两组的均数无统计学意义,故SMD的森林图的无效竖线在横坐标=0处。I检验用于对试验各组间的差异进行异质性检验,当I50%为高度异质性检验,当异质性I小于50%时,我们采用固定效应模型,当异质性较大,I大于50%时,采用随机效应模型。结果:1.在我们的结果中,我们共纳入病例对照研究8篇,均为英文文献,共1316名患者被纳入研究。文献质量NOS评分均≥6分。***分析结果显示,置管相关数据中,4项研究比较了TIVAP组与PICC组的意外移除率,首先对这4项研究进行异质性检验(I0.05),显示无明显统计学差异。4项研究比较了TIVAP组与PICC组的导管寿命,首先对这4项研究进行异质性检验(I>50%),研究间存在着较为明显的异质性,故采用随机效应模型。TIVAP组的寿命与PICC组的寿命相比,结果为(SMD:1.742,95%CI,0.935-2.548,P<0.05),提示两组间的寿命无明显统计学差异。3.对于导管并发症相关数据的研究结果提示:有4项研究比较了TIVAP组与PICC组的导管闭塞事件,首先对这4项研究进行异质性检验(I<25%),研究间无明显异质性,遂采取固定效应模型。TIVAP组与PICC组的闭塞事件相比,结果为(OR:0.11,95%CI,0.03-0.38,P<0.05),有统计学差异,显示TIVAP组的闭塞发生率明显低于PICC组。有7项研究比较了TIVAP组与PICC组的导管相关感染,首先对这7项研究进行异

Dear Editor We read with interest the editorial by Qiu et at about the psychological distress among the general population in China during the COVID-19 pandemic and policy *** elderly are more vulnerable to increased mental health problems during COVID-19,which has raised significant challenges for community mental health services.12 Older people with comorbid conditions,including cardiovascular diseases,lung diseases,diabetes and hypertension are more likely to be severely affected and die because of COVID-19,which is caused by SARS-CoV-2.^(3).

The aim of this article was to express the importance of this projected work in the field of present competitive textile-world as fabric manufacturing industries are competing with each other to be unique and aristocrat with their products for attaining customer’s attention and increasing their significance to others. To be superior in market, research is the first priority in this perspective competing field. Industries are producing a wide variety of products with some very good comfort properties in fabrics. Due to achieving this, different properties like construction, weave, internal structure, use of variety of yarn, inner-structural changes are brought in fabrics. The more an industry is advanced with its products, the more it will get market value which is very important. Market research in this field is fundamental prior to going for production. An experimental study may be applied in the market on various products with a view to attaining a good annual turnover with production and manufactures. All these parameters like development, growth, market values etc. are strongly dependent on the analytical and research activities of a group. Considering all, analysis on a fabric and its properties is very much fundament and important.

双边贸易是两国之间促进贸易和投资的货物交换。为了促进贸易和投资,两国将减少或取消税收、进口限制、出口限制和其他贸易壁垒。本研究旨在确定影响孟加拉国双边贸易模式的因素,以及区域贸易协定（RTAs）和优惠贸易协定（PTAs）如何改变该国的贸易模式。为了估算面板引力模型（panel gravity model）中孟加拉国在2000年至2019年20年间对其51个贸易伙伴的贸易流量,编制了一组具体数据集。研究结果表明,孟加拉国的国内生产总值（GDP）规模、汇率和贸易开放已被证明是孟加拉国对外贸易的关键影响因素。区域贸易协定正在以最小的规模影响孟加拉国的贸易。地理隔离对贸易有重大影响。人们注意到,虽然孟加拉国没有加入欧洲联盟和北美自由贸易协定（NAFATA）,但由于普遍优惠制设施和成衣工业的竞争优势,孟加拉国正在向这些目的地进一步出口。由于以下几个原因,本研究是—个新颖而重要的贡献:考虑到市场动态和孟加拉国贸易趋势最近的转变,以往用引力模型分析孟加拉国贸易模式的研究已经过时。所以,这是重温这个话题的最佳时机。第二,最重要的是,之前的研究从未使用PPML估计,有限元或REM不足以得出的结果如果零贸易存在的数据集。这项研究有助于填补研究空白,回顾历史上最活跃的部分或最近的贸易和包容的PPML估计产生无偏和—致的估计量。
