Spatio-temporal dynamics of phytohormones in the tomato graft healing process

Graft healing involves a series of cytological and molecular events including wound responses, callus formation and vascular bundle remodelling. Hormones are important signalling molecules regulating plant development and responses to environmental stimuli. However, the detailed dynamics of phytohormones in graft healing remain elusive. In this research, internodes above and below the graft site were harvested from 0 to 168 h after grafting (HAG), and liq.id chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was used to determinate jasmonic acid, auxin, cytokinin, ethylene, salicylic acid, abscisic acid and gibberellin levels during the graft healing process. Uniform manifold approximation and projection (UMAP) and k-means analyses were performed to explore hormone spatio-temporal dynamics. We found the stage-specific and asymmetric accumulation of phytohormones in the tomato graft healing process. At the early healing stage (before vascular bundle reconnection), IAA, cZ, ABA, JA and SA mainly accumulated above the graft site, while tZ and ACC mainly accumulated below the graft site. MEIAA, ICAld and IP mainly accumulated at the later stage. Comminated with the healing process, we suggested that JA is mainly involved in wound responses, IAA is beneficial to the formation of callus and vascular cell development, tZ promotes cell division, and IP is linked to vascular bundle remodelling. In addition, expression of JA-related genes SlMYC2 and SlJAZ2, IAA-related gene SlIAA1, tZ-related genes SlHP2 and SlRR8, and IP-related gene SlRR9 correlated with hormone accumulation. Plant-derived nanovesicles(PDNVs)derived from natural green products have emerged as an attractive nanoplatform in biomedical *** are usually characterized by uniq.e structural and biological functions,such as the bioactive lipids/proteins/nucleic acids as therapeutics and targeting groups,immune-modulation,and long-term *** the rapid development of nanotechnology,materials,and synthetic chemistry,PDNVs can be engineered with multiple functions for efficient drug delivery and specific killing of diseased cells,which represent an innovative biomaterial with high biocompatibility for fighting against *** this review,we provide an overview of the state-of-theart studies concerning the development of PDNVs for cancer *** original sources,methods for obtaining PDNVs,composition and structure are introduced *** an emphasis on the featured application,the inherent anticancer properties of PDNVs as well as the strategies in constructing multifunctional PDNVs-based nanomaterials will be discussed in ***,some scientific issues and technical challenges of PDNVs as promising options in improving anticancer therapy will be discussed,which are expected to promote the further development of PDNVs in clinical translation.

Taiji-Tianq.n-LISA network:Precisely measuring the Hubble constant using both bright and dark sirens

In the coming decades,the space-based gravitational-wave(GW)detectors such as Taiji,Tianq.n,and LISA are expected to form a network capable of detecting millihertz GWs emitted by the mergers of massive black hole binaries(MBHBs).In this work,we investigate the potential of GW standard sirens from the Taiji-Tianq.n-LISA network in constraining cosmological *** the optimistic scenario in which electromagnetic(EM)counterparts can be detected,we predict the number of detectable bright sirens based on three different MBHB population models,i.e.,popⅢ,q.d,and *** results show that the TaijiTianq.n-LISA network alone could achieve a constraint precision of 0.9%for the Hubble constant,meeting the standard of precision ***,the Taiji-Tianq.n-LISA network could effectively break the cosmological parameter degeneracies generated by the CMB data,particularly in the dynamical dark energy *** combined with the CMB data,the joint CMB+Taiji-Tianq.n-LISA data offerσ(w)=0.036 in the wCDM model,which is close to the latest constraint result obtained from the CMB+SN *** also consider a conservative scenario in which EM counterparts are not *** to the precise sky localizations of MBHBs by the Taiji-Tianq.n-LISA network,the constraint precision of the Hubble constant is expected to reach 1.2%.In conclusion,the GW standard sirens from the Taiji-Tianq.n-LISA network will play a critical role in helping solve the Hubble tension and shedding light on the nature of dark energy.

Composition characterization and transformation mechanism of dissolved organic phosphorus in wastewater treatment using 31P NMR spectroscopy

The migration and transformation of phosphorus components in wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)play a crucial role in the convergence and circulation of ***,the composition and variation of dissolved organic phosphorus(DOP)in WWTPs were unclear because of its complex nature,hindering its efficient *** this study,the DOP species and their transformation during the treatment process in WWTP were comprehensively ***,two enrichment methods were assessed for their effectiveness at facilitating wastewater analysis:lyophilization and aluminum salt *** salt precipitation was found to be better because its application allowed 31P nuclear magnetic resonance(31P NMR)spectroscopy to identify more species in the secondary effluent:orthophosphate(Ortho-P)(81.1%–89.3%of the dissolved total phosphorus),pyrophosphates(Pyro-P)(0%–2.3%),orthophosphate monoesters(Mono-P)(7.0%–10.77%),orthophosphate diesters(Di-P)(1.0%–2.96%),and phosphonate(Phos-P)(1.7%–5.16%).Furthermore,the variation and transformation mechanism of phosphorus,particularly those of DOP,during the entire sewage-treatment process were *** the treatment steps,biological treatment combined tertiary treatment achieved better DOP removal ***,biological treatment mainly removed Mono-P and Di-P with removal efficiencies of 33.3%and 41.7%compared with the effluent of the grit ***-P has higher bioavailability and is more easily converted and utilized by microorganisms than ***,Phos-P,with low bioavailability,was hardly utilized by microorganisms,which showed only 18.4%removal efficiency in biological *** tertiary treatment,coagulation process exhibited higher removal ability of Ortho-P(69.1%)and partial removal efficiencies of DOP,resulting in an increase in the DOP proportion in *** addition,Phos-P could not be effectively removed through the biological treatment and was only partially reduced via the adsorption pro

Warming-induced carbon loss via ecosystem respiration(R_(e))is probably intensifying in the alpine grassland ecosystem of the Tibetan Plateau owing to more accelerated warming and the higher temperature sensitivity of R_(e)(q.(10)).However,little is known about the patterns and controlling factors of q.(10)on the plateau,impeding the comprehension of the intensity of terrestrial carbon-climate feedbacks for these sensitive and vulnerable ***,we synthesized and analyzed multiyear observations from 14 sites to systematically compare the spatiotemporal variations of q.(10)values in diverse climate zones and ecosystems,and further explore the relationships between q.(10)and environmental ***,structural eq.ation modeling was utilized to identify the direct and indirect factors predicting q.(10)values during the annual,growing,and non-growing *** results indicated that the estimated q.(10)values were strongly dependent on temperature,generally,with the average q.(10)during different time periods increasing with air temperature and soil temperature at different measurement depths(5 cm,10 cm,20 cm).The q.(10)values differentiated among ecosystems and climatic zones,with warming-induced q.(10)declines being stronger in colder regions than elsewhere based on spatial *** was the most cardinal factor in predicting annual q.(10)values,significantly and positively correlated with q.(10).Soil temperature(Ts)was identified as the other powerful predictor for q.(10),and the negative q.(10)-Ts relationship demonstrates a larger terrestrial carbon loss potentiality in colder than in warmer regions in response to global *** that the interpretations of the effect of soil moisture on q.(10)were complicated,reflected in a significant positive relationship between q.(10)and soil moisture during the growing season and a strong q.adratic correlation between the two during the annual and non-growing *** findings are conducive to imp

Niobium telluride(NbTe_(2)),a kind of few-layer two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)material,has been theoretically predicted with nonlinear absorption properties and excellent optical ***,we experimentally demonstrated an Er-doped fiber(EDF)laser based NbTe_(2)as saturable absorber(SA).Few-layer NbTe_(2)nanosheets were successfully prepared by adopting the commonly used liq.id-phase exfoliation(LPE)*** nonlinear optical response of highly stable few-layer NbTe_(2)was investigated through an open-aperture Z-scan laser measurement,the nonlinear absorption coefficient was 2.45×10^(-11)m/*** q.switched and mode-locked operation centered at 1559 nm were recorded based on NbTe_(2)*** pulse duration was varied from 4.88 ms to 1.75 ms,and the adjustable range of repetition freq.ency is changed from 44.01 kHz to 64.12 kHz in passively q.switched ***,a constant repetition rate of 5.33 MHz and pulse width of 2.67 ps were observed in mode-locked *** experimental results fully reveal the nonlinear optical prop-erties of NbTe_(2)used in pulsed fiber lasers and broaden its ultrafast applications in the optics field.

Coagulation enhanced electrokinetic settling of mature fine oil sands tailings

The mature fine oil sand tailings(MFT) remain as slurry in the tailings pond for long time. The dewatering and consolidation of MFT for sustainable management is an important task for the mining industry. The objective of this study is to accelerate electrokinetic settling of MFT solids in suspensions in presence of optimal coagulant. In the first phase, optimal coagulant and coagulant dosage for settling of suspension are identified, i.e., ferric chloride at 350 mg/L. It is found that the chemical treatment is not much effective; the final solid content of the sediment is only 6.48% from an initial of 5%. In the second phase,combined coagulation and electrokinetic treatment is carried out to enhance the settling effect. The direct electric current is applied in continuous and intermittent modes on MFT suspensions placed in electrokinetic cell. The results show the final solid content reaches 23.74% under the combined application of350 mg/L ferric chloride and 218.75 V/m applied voltage gradient in the continuous mode. The intermittent current mode with 40% save in power consumption produces a settled sediment having 20.84% final solid content.

Synthesis of Single-Crystal TiO_2 Nanowire Using Titanium Monoxide Powder by Thermal Evaporation

TiO 2 nanowires were synthesized successfully in a large q.antity by thermal evaporation using titanium monoxide powder as precursor. X-ray diffraction results showed that all the products were pure rutile phase of TiO 2 . According to microstructural observations, the nanowires have two typical morphologies, a long straight type and a short tortuous type. The straight nanowires were obtained at a wide temperature range of 900–1050 ℃, while the tortuous ones were formed below 900 ℃. Transmission electron microscopy characterization revealed that both the straight and the tortuous nanowires are single-crystal rutile TiO 2 . The preferential growth direction of the nanowires was determined as [110] orientation according to electron diffraction and high-resolution image analyses. The morphological change of TiO 2 nanowires was discussed by considering the different atomic diffusion rates of Ti atoms caused by the phase transformation in Ti substrate at around 900 ℃.
