Metagenomic analysis reveals hidden links between gut microbes and habitat adaptation among cave and surface dwelling Sinocyclocheilus species

Intestinal microbes are closely related to vital host functions such as digestion and nutrient absorption,which play important roles in enhancing host *** a natural“laboratory”,caves provide an outstanding model for understanding the significance of gut microbes and feeding habits in the habitat adaptability of ***,research on the relationship between gut microbes,feeding habits,and the adaptability of troglobites remains *** this study,we compared the characteristics of the intestinal microbes of Sinocyclocheilus cavefish and surface fish and further established the relationship between intestinal and habitat ***,we conducted environmental DNA(eDNA)(metabarcoding)analysis of environmental samples to clarify the composition of potential food resources in the habitats of the Sinocyclocheilus cavefish and surface *** showed that the structure of the Sinocyclocheilus gut microbes was more related to ecological type(habitat type)than phylogenetic *** horizontal transfer of habitat microbes was a source of gut microbes,hosts also showed strong selection for inherent microbes as dominant *** in the composition and structure of gut microbes,especially dominant microbes,may enhance the adaptability of the two Sinocyclocheilus fish types from the perspectives of food intake,nutrient utilization,and harmful substance metabolism,suggesting that food resources,predation patterns,intestinal flora,digestive and absorptive capacity,and feeding habits and preferences are linked to habitat *** results should facilitate our understanding of the significance of fish gut microbes to habitat adaptation and provide a new perspective for studying the adaptive mechanisms of cavefish.

Research progress of lncRNA and miRNA in hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury

Background:Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury(HIRI)is a common complication of liver surgeries,such as hepatectomy and liver *** recent years,several non-coding RNAs(nc RNAs)including long non-coding RNAs(lnc RNAs)and micro RNAs(mi RNAs)have been identified as factors involved in the pathological progression of *** this review,we summarized the latest research on lnc RNAs,mi RNAs and the lnc RNA-mi RNA regulatory networks in *** sources:The Pub Med and Web of Science databases were searched for articles published up to December 2021 using the following keywords:“hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury”,“lnc RNA”,“long noncoding RNA”,“mi RNA”and“micro RNA”.The bibliography of the selected articles was manually screened to identify additional ***:The mechanism of HIRI is complex,and involves multiple lnc RNAs and mi *** roles of lnc RNAs such as AK139328,CCAT1,MALAT1,TUG1 and NEAT1 have been established in *** addition,numerous mi RNAs are associated with apoptosis,autophagy,oxidative stress and cellular inflammation that accompany HIRI *** on the literature,we conclude that four lnc RNA-mi RNA regulatory networks mediate the pathological progression of ***,the expression levels of some lnc RNAs and mi RNAs undergo significant changes during the progression of HIRI,and thus are potential prognostic markers and therapeutic ***:Complex lnc RNA-mi RNA-m RNA networks regulate HIRI progression through mutual activation and *** is necessary to screen for more HIRI-associated lnc RNAs and mi RNAs in order to identify novel therapeutic targets.

A CHARACTERISTIC SET METHOD FOR SOLVING BOOLEAN EQUATIONS AND APPLICATIONS IN CRYPTANALYSIS OF STREAM CIPHERS

This paper presents a characteristic more efficient and has better properties than the set method for solving Boolean equations, which is general characteristic set method. In particular, the authors give a disjoint and monic zero decomposition algorithm for the zero set of a Boolean equation system and an explicit formula for the number of solutions of a Boolean equation system. The authors also prove that a characteristic set can be computed with a polynomial number of multiplications of Boolean polynomials in terms of the number of variables. As experiments, the proposed method is used to solve equations from cryptanalysis of a class of stream ciphers based on nonlinear filter generators. Extensive experiments show that the method is quite effective.

PRRT2 Mutation and Serum Cytokines in Paroxysmal Kinesigenic Dyskinesia

Acupuncture is an ancient therapeutic method based on the theory of Chinese medicine(CM). Traditional acupuncture has many limitations;it is subjective and relies more on the experience of an acupuncturist, and the efficacy is sometimes irreproducible. In contrast, electroacupuncture(EA) has special characteristics in terms of objectivity and stability, thereby gaining considerable attention. Parameter setting plays a crucial role in EA practice. The current paper summarizes the current situation and limitations of parameter setting in EA practice. Objectification is the tendency and future of CM as well as EA. With the development of computerized technologies, such as wearable sensors, vast data, and artificial intelligence, CM syndromes can be successfully objectified. We propose the development of a novel self-feedback-adjust EA system, which may improve the parameter setting in EA and be beneficial to both the patients and clinicians.

Enhanced thermoelectric performance of CoSbS_(0.85)Se_(0.15) by point defect

In this study, we report the effect of Zn doping on the thermoelectric properties of CO1-xZnxSbS0.85Se0.15 solid solutions （x = 0, 0.02, 0.05, 0.08）. The results show the dimensionless figure of merit （zT） increases from 0.17 to 0.34 at 875 K for Co0.95Zn0.05SbS0.85Se0.15 sample, due to the noticeable decrease in the lattice thermal conductivity by introducing point defect, which is further confirmed by an analysis based on the Debye-Callaway- Klemens model. Meanwhile, the thermoelectric power factor is maintained at high temperatures. This work highlights the important role of point defect in improving the thermoelectric performance of CoSbS-based compounds.
