Background and Aims:Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC)is the second most common primary hepatic malignancy that causes a poor *** aimed to identify its prognostic factors and to develop a nomogram that will predict survival of ICC patients among all ***:A total of 442 patients with pathology-proven ICC registered at the Fifth Medical Center of PLA General Hospital between july 2007 and December 2019 were *** were followed for survival status until june 30,2020.A prognostic model visualized as a nomogram was constructed in the training cohort using multivariate cox model,and was then validated in the validation ***:The median age was 55 *** a median follow-up of 50.4 months,337 patients *** median survival was 11.6 months,with 1-,3-and 5-year survival rates of 48.3%,22.7%and 16.2%,*** associated with overall survival were multiple tumors,lymph node involvement,vascular invasion,distant metastasis,decreased albumin,elevated lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),decreased iron,elevated fi-brinogen,elevated CA125 and elevated CA19-9.A nomo-gram predicting survival of ICC patients at the time of di-agnosis achieved a Harrel’s c-statistic of 0.758,significantly higher than the 0.582 of the TNM stage *** median survivals of those within the low,mid and high-risk subgroups were 35.6,12.1 and 6.2 months,***:A nomogram based on imaging data and serum biomarkers at diagnosis showed good ability to predict survival in patients with all stages of *** studies are needed to validate the prognostic capability of our new model.

Charmless two-body B meson decays in the perturbative QCD factorization approach

Interaction of cobalt with ceria thin films and its influence on supported Au nanoparticles

The interaction of Co with ceria thin films and its influence on the sintering behavior of Au were investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy（STM）, synchrotron radiation photoemission spectroscopy（SRPES） and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）. The strong interaction between Co and CeO_2（111） leads to oxidation of Co to Co^（2＋） at 300 K, accompanied by partial reduction of ceria surface at low Co coverages. Subsequent Co deposition results in an increasing fraction of metallic Co. Annealing to high temperatures induces Co^（2＋）ions diffuse into the CeO_2 film, while the small metallic Co islands agglomerate into larger ones. The bimetallic Co–Au particles were prepared by deposition of Au on the existing Co particles on ceria surfaces. The sintering behavior of Co–Au bimetallic surfaces is found to be highly determined by the stoichiometry of ceria supports. The addition of Co to the Au/CeO_2 surface suppresses the sintering of Au particles at high temperatures in comparison with that of pure Au particles. However, Au particles are less stable on the Co/CeO_（1.82） layer than on CeO_（1.82） surface.

Clinical and pathological correlation of the microdeletion of Y chromosome for the 30 patients with azoospermia and severe oligoasthenospermia

Aim: To review the accumulated 30 patients with different area of Y chromosome microdeletions, focusing on their correlation with the clinical and pathological findings. Methods: A total of 334 consecutive infertile men with azoospermia (218 patients) and severe oligoasthenospermia (116 patients) were screened. Complete physical and endocrinological examinations, general chromosome study and multiplex polymerase chain reaction assay to evaluate the Y chromosome microdeletion were performed. Ten patients received testicular biopsy. Then the clinical and pathological findings were analyzed with reference to the areas of Y chromosome microdeletion. Results: There is a decline of the percentage of sperm appearing in semen in the group that the gene deletion region from AZFc to AZFb. The clinical evidence of the impairment (decreased testicular size and elevated serum FSH) is also relevantly aggravated in this group. However, the pathology of testicular biopsy specimen was poorly correlated with the different deletion areas of the Y chromosome, which may be due to the limited number of specimens. Conclusion: The clinical correlation of spermatogenic impairment to the different AZF deletion regions may provide the information for the infertile couples in pre-treatment counseling.

Excellent response of severe aplastic anemia to treatment of gut inflammation: A case report and review of the literature

BACKGROUND Cumulative evidence suggests that the aberrant immune responses in acquired aplastic anemia(AA) are sustained by active chronic infections in genetically susceptible individuals. Recently, the constant source to trigger and sustain the pathophysiology has been proposed to come from the altered gut microbiota and chronic intestinal inflammation. In this case, our serendipitous finding provides convincing evidence that the persistently dysregulated autoimmunity may be generated, at least in a significant proposition of AA patients, by the altered gut microbiota and compromised intestinal *** SUMMARY A 30-year-old Chinese male patient with refractory severe AA experienced a 3-month-long febrile episode, and his fever was refractory to many kinds of injected broad-spectrum antibiotics. When presenting with abdominal cramps, he was prescribed oral mannitol and gentamycin to get rid of the gut infection. This treatment resulted in a quick resolution of the fever. Unanticipatedly, it also produced an excellent hematological response. He had undergone three episodes of recurrence within the one-year treatment, with each recurrence occurring 7-8 wk from the gastrointestinal inflammation eliminating preparations. However,subsequent treatments were able to produce subsequent remissions and consecutive treatments were successful in achieving durative hematological improvements, strongly indicating an etiological association between chronic gut inflammation and the development of AA. Interestingly, comorbid diseases superimposed on this patient(namely, psychiatric disorders, hypertension,insulin resistance, and renal dysfunction) were ameliorated together with the hematological *** Chronic gut inflammation may be responsible for AA pathogenesis. The comorbidities and AA may share a common etiological association.

Distribution Atlas of COVID-19 Pneumonia on Computed Tomography:A Deep Learning Based Description

Differentiation of expression profi les of two calcineurin subunit genes in chicken skeletal muscles during early postnatal growth depending on anatomical location of muscles and breed

Calcineurin（Cn or CaN） is implicated in the control of skeletal muscle fiber phenotype and hypertrophy. However, little information is available concerning the expression of Cn in chickens. In the present study, the expression of two Cn subunit genes（Cn Aα and Cn B1） was quantified by q PCR in the lateral gastrocnemius（LG, mainly composing of red fast-twitch myofibers）, the soleus（mainly composing of red slow-twitch myofibers） and the extensor digitorum longus（EDL, mainly composing of white fast-twitch myofibers） from Qingyuan partridge chickens（QY, slow-growing chicken breed） and Recessive White chickens（RW, fast-growing chicken breed） on different days（1, 8, 22, 36, 50 and 64 days post-hatching）. Although Cn Aα and Cn B1 gene expressions were variable with different trends in different skeletal muscles in the two chicken breeds during postnatal growth, it is highly muscle phenotype and breed specific. In general, the levels of Cn Aα and Cn B1 gene expressions of the soleus were lower than those of EDL and LG in both chicken breeds at the same stages. Compared between the two chicken breeds, the levels of Cn Aα gene expression of the three skeletal muscles in QY chickens were higher than those in RW chickens on days 1 and 22. However, on day 64, the levels of both Cn Aα and Cn B1 gene expressions of the three skeletal muscles were lower in QY chickens than those in RW chickens. Correlation analysis of the levels of Cn Aα and Cn B1 gene expressions of the same skeletal muscle showed that there were positive correlations for all three skeletal muscle tissues in two chicken breeds. These results provide some valuable clues to understand the role of Cn in the development of chicken skeletal muscles, with a function that may be related to meat quality.

Association between the triglyceride to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio and cardiovascular diseases in people living with human immunodeficiency virus: Evidence from a retrospectively cohort study 2005-2022

Introduction: The triglyceride to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (TG/HDL-C) ratio, a novel biomarker for metabolic syndrome (MetS), has been validated in the general population as being significantly correlated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. However, its capabilities to predict CVD in people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV; PLWH) remain ***: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of 16,081 PLWH who initiated antiretroviral therapy (ART) at the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen (China) from 2005 to 2022. The baseline TG/HDL-C ratio was calculated as TG (mmol/L) divided by HDL-C (mmol/L). We employed a multivariate Cox proportional hazards model to assess the association between the TG/HDL-C ratio and CVD occurrence, using Kaplan-Meier curves and log-rank tests to compare survival distributions. The increase in prediction risk upon the addition of the biomarker to the conventional risk model was examined through the assessment of changes in net reclassification improvement (NRI) and integrated discrimination improvement (IDI). Nonlinear relationships were investigated using a restricted cubic spline plot, complemented by a two-piecewise Cox proportional hazards model to analyze threshold ***: At the median follow-up of 70 months, 213 PLWH developed CVD. Kaplan-Meier curves demonstrated a significant association between the increased risk of CVD and a higher TG/HDL-C ratio (log-rankP justed Cox proportional hazards regression model indicated that the CVD hazard ratios (HR) (95% confidence intervals [95% CIs]) for Q2, Q3, and Q4 versus Q1 of the TG/HDL-C ratio were 2.07 (1.24, 3.45), 2.17 (1.32, 3.57), and 2.20 (1.35, 3.58), respectively (P <0.05). The consideration of the TG/HDL-C ratio in the model, which included all significant factors for CVD incidence, improved the predictive risk, as indicated by the reclassification metrics (NRI 16.43%, 95% CI 3.35%-29.52%,P = 0.014).
