Effects of rare earth elements on inclusions, microstructure and impact toughness of spring steel

Spring steel is an indispensable basic part manufacturing material in mechanical equipment,which is widely used in transportation tools such as automobiles,railways,construction machinery and other *** effects of rare earth(RE)on inclusions,microstructure,carbides and impact toughness of 50CrV spring steel were studied by means of optical microscope,scanning electron microscope,transmission electron microscope and impact *** results sh.w that the addition of rare earth can modify the main MnS and Al_(2)O_(3) inclusions in steel to form spherical or near-spherical rare earth inclusions,and the size of inclusions is significantly *** the quenched structure,the size of martensite slab becomes smaller and the structure is *** tempering,the carbide changes from sh.et to ellipse,which makes it easier for spring steel to form stress concentration cracks under *** becomes finer and more dispersed,which leads to better pinning of grain boundaries and smaller grain *** impact toughness of 50CrV-RE spring steel increased from 21 to 41 J by 95%due to the improvement of inclusions,microstructure and carbides by rare *** is possible to improve the strength and toughness of spring steel for the improvement of railway running speed and the development of vehicle lightweight in China.

Even though smart meters have been widely used in power systems around the world,many consumers are still finding it hard to participate in demand response(DR)due to flat-rate retail pricing *** address this issue,this paper proposes a coupon-based demand response(CDR)scheme to achieve equivalent dynamic retail prices to inspire consumers’inherent ***,a security-constrained unit commitment optimization model is developed in the day-ahead market to obtain coupon rewards,which are then broadcast to consumers to motivate them to reschedule their power consumption *** evaluate the adjustment value of consumers’power consumption,a collective utility function is proposed to formulate the relationsh.p between power quantity and coupon *** this basis,the security-constrained economic dispatch model is developed in the intra-day market to reschedule generating units’output power according to real-time load demands and fluctuating renewable *** the operation interval,a settlement method is developed to quantify consumers’electricity fees and coupon benefits on a monthly *** proposed CDR scheme avoids real-time iterative bidding process and effectively decreases the difficulty of massive,small consumers participating in *** proposed CDR is implemented in a realistic DR project in China to verify consumers’energy cost and renewables’curtailment can both be decreased.

Unidirectional liquid transport(UDLT)has been widely used in various fields as an important process for transferring both mass and ***,UDLT driven by a structural gradient has been witnessed for a long time only in wettable *** nonwettable liquids,UDLT can hardly proceed merely by a structural ***,we propose an asymmetrically concave structured surface(AMC-surface),featuring tip-to-base periodically arranged pyramid-sh.ped concave structures with a certain degree of overlap,which enables the UDLT of both wettable and nonwettable *** wettable liquids,the capillary force along each corner leads to the UDLT pointing toward the base side of the concave pyramid,while for nonwettable liquids,the UDLT is attributable to the static liquid pressure overwhelming the repulsive Laplace pressure induced by the asymmetric grooves and overlapping *** a result,both wettable and nonwettable liquids transport spontaneously and unidirectionally on the AMC-surface with no energy ***,the concave structure endows good mechanical stability and can be easily prepared using a facile nail-punching approach over a large *** also demonstrated its application in a continuous chemical reaction in a confined *** envision that the unique UDLT behavior on the as-developed AMC-surface will sh.d new light on the programmable manipulation of various liquids.

Stigma color is a critical agronomic trait in watermelon that plays an important role in ***,there are few reports on the regulation of stigma color in *** this study,a genetic analysis of the F2 population derived from ZXG1553(P1,with orange stigma)and W1-17(P2,with yellow stigma)indicated that stigma color is a quantitative trait and the orange stigma is recessive compared with the yellow *** segregant analysis sequencing(BSA-seq)revealed a 3.75 Mb segment on chromosome 6 that is related to stigma ***,a major stable effective QTL Clqsc6.1(QTL stigma color)was detected in two years between cleaved amplified polymorphic sequencing(CAPS)markers Chr06_8338913 and Chr06_9344593 spanning a~1.01 Mb interval that harbors 51 annotated ***97C06G117020(annotated as zinc finger protein CONSTANS-LIKE 4)was identified as the best candidate gene for the stigma color trait through RNA-seq,quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR),and gene structure alignment analysis among the natural watermelon *** expression level of Cla97C06G117020 in the orange stigma accession was lower than in the yellow stigma accessions with a significant difference.A nonsynonymous SNP site of the Cla97C06G117020 coding region that causes amino acid variation was related to the stigma color variation among nine watermelon accessions according to their re-sequencing *** color formation is often related to carotenoids,and we also found that the expression trend of ClCHYB(annotated asβ-carotene hydroxylase)in the carotenoid metabolic pathway was consistent with Cla97C06G117020,and it was expressed in low amounts in the orange stigma *** data indicated that Cla97C06G117020 and ClCHYB may interact to form the stigma *** study provides a theoretical basis for gene fine mapping and mechanisms for the regulation of stigma color in watermelon.
