Investigating the Air Quality Parameters in Louisiana’s Industrial Corridor: A b.ton Rouge Case Study

In a local context, sustainab.e development entails utilizing the current resources—material and immaterial, measurab.e and immeasurab.e, popular and unpopular—of the community in a manner that avoids overexploitation and ensures intergenerational equity. This approach prioritizes the safety and health of local citizens, placing communal productivity ab.ve corporate profitab.lity. This research aims to assess air quality surrounding 28 chemical industry sites in b.ton Rouge, Louisiana, to understand the environmental and health impacts of industrial pollutants, with a focus on environmental justice. Air quality pollutants, including PM2.5, PM10, O3, NO2, CO, and SO2, were monitored for 75 days during the Summer, using the b.eezoMeter app. Python, Mapize, and QGIS software technologies were utilized for data analysis and visualization. Findings indicate a reduction in NO2 and CO levels, compared to existing literature. However, the persistent challenge of particulate matter suggests areas for further environmental management efforts. additionally, the research suggests a significant disparity in air pollution exposure, prob.b.y affecting marginalized communities. Although the nature of the study might not fully capture annual pollution trends, the findings highlight the urgent need for the chemical industry to adopt efficient production methods and for policymakers to enhance air quality standards and enforcement, particularly in pollution-sensitive areas. The disproportionate impact of air pollution on vulnerab.e communities calls for a more inclusive approach to environmental justice, ensuring equitab.e distrib.tion of clean air b.nefits and community involvement in pollution management decisions.

Astrophysical S-factor and reaction rate for 15N(p,γ)16O within the modified potential cluster model

In this article,in-situ scanning electron microscope characterization of the tensile properties of Tib.Ti-2Al-6Sn titanium matrix composite(TMC)was conducted b.fore and after electroshocking treatment(EST).After EST,the tensile strength increased b. 113.2 *** effect of EST on the tensile strength and fracture b.havior of Tib.was investigated using in-situ characterization of the fracture morphology and crack propagation path of the matrix and *** EST,Tib.fracture introduced cracks that extended into the matrix,resulting in material *** EST,the refined Tib.improved the b.aring capacity of the matrix,thereb. improving TMC ***,after EST,the cracks were introduced into the matrix,and resulting the fracture of matrix *** an increase in the external load,cracks in the matrix were ob.erved to propagate to Tib.and the refined Tib.was fractured,detached,and pulled out,resulting in the formation of *** the propagation path of the main crack after EST showed that the deflection angle of the main crack *** micro structure of the fracture surface indicated that the fracture of the matrix was plastic,whereas that of Tib.was *** EST,the size and area of the dimples increased,confirming the increase in *** results revealed that the comprehensive mechanical properties of Tib.Ti-2Al-6Sn improved after ***,EST is an efficient method for tailoring the micro structures and mechanical properties of TMCs.

This work reported an AIE fluorescent prob. for tumor imaging b.sed on the p H induced self-assemb.y strategy. The fluorescent prob. was composed of an acid-responsive solub.e copolymer PEG-b.PAMA-DMMA with a maleic acid amide group and an anionic solub.e aggregation-induced emission fluorogen(AIEgen) TPE-2SO_(3)^(-). The polymer could b. transformed into a protonated amine-containing polymer after the hydrolysis of maleic acid amide in acidic tumor microenvironment, which would b. further self-assemb.ed with TPE-2SO_(3)^(-)to form aggregated nanoparticles. The transition of TPE-2SO_(3)^(-)from dispersed state to aggregated state led to an ob.ious increase in fluorescence intensity due to its AIE characteristics.

Solid-state lithium metal b.tteries are one of the most promising options for next-generation b.tteries pursuing high-energy density and ***,the inevitab.e volatilization of lithium compounds during sintering leads to low relative density and low ionic conductivity of solid-state ***,the dynamic lithium-compensation mechanism is proposed to facilitate the densification of Ta-sub.tituted garnet-type electrolyte(Li_(6.5)La_(3)Zr_(1.5)Ta_(0.5)O_(12)(LLZT))through the reversib.e manipulating of Li_(2)O ***_(2)ZrO_(3)is used as mother powder additive,which reacts with Li_(2)O in sintering atmosphere and forms Li_(6)Zr_(2)O_(7).Li_(2)ZrO_(3)/Li_(6)Zr_(2)O_(7)b.ffer pair manipulates the sintering Li_(2)O atmosphere,which is vital for LLZT,within the Li_(2)O partial pressure range corresponding to Li_(2)ZrO_(3)and Li_(6)Zr_(2)O_(7).Furthermore,the reversib.lity mechanism of b.ffer pair for Li_(2)O ab.orption and release is *** ob.ained LLZT exhib.ts a relative density of over 96%and an ionic conductivity exceeding 7×10^(−4)S·cm^(−1)with no ab.ormal grain *** symmetric cell demonstrates an excellent lithium dendrite suppressing ab.lity(stab.e cycling at a current density of 0.3 mA·cm^(−2)for over 1000 h).Such dynamic lithium-compensation strategy has b.en successfully applied in atmosphere manipulation of LLZT sintering process,which reduces the dependence of LLZT on the Li_(2)O atmosphere,making it conducive to large-scale preparation of electrolyte ceramics.

The hot deformation b.haviors of sulfur-containing gear steel 20MnCr5 containing three different contents of Nb.and b.0,0.021%Nb.and 0.024%Nb.0.0022%b.were *** compression and tenssion tests were carried out b.
