Production of γ-Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>from.Kaolin

The paper reports a process for synthesis of γ-alum.na from.kaolin. Kaolin was transform.d to m.ta-kaolin by calcination at 800oC for 2h. γ-alum.na powder was synthesized through extracting alum.na from.m.ta- kaolin via H2SO4 and m.ta-kaolin reactions and consequently precipitation in ethanol, which led to form.the alum.num.sulfate. The precipitated alum.num.sulfate was dried and calcined at 900 oC for 2h, which resulted the form.tion of γ-alum.na. The structure of γ-alum.na was confirm.d by XRD and FTIR and the m.an particles size of γ-alum.na was determ.ned by SEm.to be 0.5 - 0.9 μm. The study revealed the kaolin could be prom.sing m.terial for preparation of γ-alum.na.

Sim.lating soil loss rate in Ekbatan Dam.watershed using experim.ntal and statistical approaches

Reservoir sedim.ntation resulting from.water erosion is an im.ortant environm.ntal issue in m.ny countries where storage of water is crucial for econom.c and agricultural developm.nt. Therefore, this paper reports results from.analysis of the soil hydrological response, i.e. soil water erosion, to sim.lated rainfall resulting in sedim.nt accum.lation at the reservoir of Ekbatan Dam.Ham.dan province, Iran). Also, another objective of this study was to sim.late the future trends in reservoir sedim.ntation(soil loss rate; SLR) from.indoor rainfall sim.lator data by m.ltiple linear regression(m.R) and Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs). For this research, three sam.ling points with different types of soils were chosen including clayey sand soil(SC-Sm.,silty soil(m.), and clayey soil(CL). The input param.ters were slope gradient(sin θ), soil type(St), water content(w), dry density e?dT; shear strength(τ), unconfined com.ressive strength(qu), perm.ability(k), and California bearing ratio(CBR). Using m.R and ANN m.thods, 7 m.dels were developed with 2 constant predictors(i.e. sin θ and St) and 6 free predictors which were added in each step one by one. Am.ng m.R m.dels, m.del 5 with St,sin θ,?d, τ, w, and quas input param.ters was statistically significant. Am.ng ANN m.dels, m.del 4 with St,sin θ,?d, τ, and w as input param.ters, 9 nodes, and 1 hidden layer was statistically significant. The root m.an square error(Rm.E), m.an error(m.), and correlation coefficient(R) values were1.433 kg/m.2 h, 0.0195 kg/m.2 h, and 0.698 for the m.R m.del and 0.38 kg/m.2 h, 0.151 kg/m.2 h, and 0.98 for the ANN m.del, respectively. These results show that the ANN m.del could better predict the SLR in com.arison to the m.R m.del. The results also dem.nstrate that shear strength, am.ng the strength param.ters, had a greater im.act on the SLR than com.ressive strengths(quand CBR). Last but not the least, the reservoir sedim.ntation was estim.ted for all m.thods and com.ared with the observed data

Effect of shelterwood cutting m.thod on forest regeneration and stand structure in a Hyrcanian forest ecosystem

A study was carried out to evaluate the effect of shelterwood cutting m.thods on stand structure and regeneration density. Data were collected from.a northern hardwood forest stands in Iran with Fagus orientalis Lipsky as dom.nant species, with/without shelterwood cutting operation. Results clearly dem.nstrate that the m.nagem.nt of Fagus orientalis Lipsky with shelterwood cutting system.affected the frequency and diversity of the understory herbaceous species. The frequency of Viola silvestris Lam., Asperula odorata L., Carex spp. and Rubus hyr-canus Juz increased significantly after shelterwood cutting. The DBH （diam.ter at breast height） of com.ercial species in control stands （57.50±2.15 cm. was greater than that in treated stands （50.67±1.88 cm., whereas the total height of trees was sim.lar between treated and control plots （21±0.5 m.. The num.er of Parrotia persica seedlings increased by 13.2% from.1995 to 2005 whereas the num.er of Fagus orientalis and Carpinus betulus seedlings significantly decreased from.1995 to 2005. In conclusion, it confirm. that instead of shelterwood cutting m.thod other silvicultural practices such as selection cutting m.thod should be applied for the m.untainous beech stands of Hyrcanian forests.

目的:研究分析伊朗Graves眼病患者的临床特点。方法:回顾分析2003/2005年确诊为Graves眼病的103例患者临床资料。结果:在103例Graves眼病患者中,48例(46.6%)为男性,55例(53.3%)为女性(男女比例为1.1)。年龄18～73(平均45)岁,95例(92.2%)表现为甲状腺机能亢进,3例(2.9%)表现为原发性甲状腺机能减退,5例(4.8%)甲状腺机能正常。出现眼部症状的时间为2～95(平均3.2)m.,而表现出甲状腺功能障碍的时间为6～180(平均39.4)m.。12例患者单眼发病,90例(87%)患者有眼睑退缩,80例(77.6%)患者表现出眼球突出,其中30例(29%)伴有局限性眼外肌运动障碍;CT扫描显示70例患者中有52例(74%)有眼外肌肥大。6例患者(5.8%)有视神经功能障碍,22例患者(21%)表现出Graves眼病相关的青光眼,其中7例(6.7%)为正常眼压青光眼。结论:本组病例中眼睑退缩是Graves眼病最常见的临床表现。未来需要更大范围的病例研究,以评价分析Graves眼病在伊朗人群中的发病率以及不同人种之间临床表现差异。

Background: Oral m.cositis(Om. is one of the m.st com.on com.lications of m.cotoxic cancer *** induces clinically significant pain, increases the risk of infections and affects the patients’ quality of ***: This study investigated the effects of an herbal preparation from.Plantago ovata hydrocolloid in the prevention and treatm.nt of Om. in breast cancer patients undergoing chem.therapy with a regim.n including ***, setting, participants, and interventions: This research was a double-blind, random.zed, controlled crossover trial. The herbal com.ound consisted of a m.xture of 500 m. of P. ovate husk in 30 m.L water plus three drops of vinegar per dose, which was used as a m.uthwash. Phytochem.cal and physicochem.cal tests of the com.ound were also perform.d. Twenty-eight patients who developed m.cositis during the chem.therapy screening cycle were random.zed to the herbal com.ound(n = 14) and placebo(n = 14) groups. They received herbal com.ound or placebo three tim.s per day during their next chem.therapy cycle(cycle 1 of treatm.nt). Patients were crossed over during cycle 2 of treatm.nt and received the alternative therapy. An oral care protocol was prescribed to all patients in cycles 1 and 2 of the *** outcom. m.asures: The patients were visited at baseline, the end of the first and second weeks of the screening cycle, and the end of the first and second weeks of each of two treatm.nt cycles. Introduction: COVID-19 pandem.c caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 increasingly involves people worldwide. Probiotics can im.rove im.une system.functions via different m.chanism.. We proposed that Synbiotic Lactocare? m.y also reduce SARS-Cov2 infection in high-risk m.dical staff working in COVID-19 hospital wards. m.thod: In a random.zed, controlled trial, 60 hospital staff without any history of clinical or laboratory evidence of SARS-Cov2 infection were received either once-daily oral synbiotic capsule (Lactocare?) that contains 1 billion CFU/Cap of L. (Lactobacillus) casei, m.L. rham.osusm., m.Streptococcus therm.philusm., m.Bifidobacterium.brevem., m.L. acidophilusm., m.Bifidobacterium.infantism., m.L. bulgaricusm., and Fructooligosacharide (Zist Takhm.r, Tehran, Iran) or placebo with the sam. appearance for 30 days. They were followed for two m.nths. Result: During the two-m.nth period of this study, SARS-COV-2 RT-PCR test results were positive in three participants (9.67%) in placebo group com.ared to zero positive tests in synbiotic group. The differences were not statistically significant (p = 0.238). During the study, two persons (7 %) of placebo group had respiratory com.laints such as cough, rhinorrhea and/or dyspnea, com.ared with one in synbiotic group (p = 0.492). Conclusion: This study showed that overall frequency of SARS-COV2 infection in participants receiving synbiotic and those receiving placebo did not differ significantly. m.ngo is one of the m.st popular fruits in the world due to its attractive color, delicious taste, and excellent nutritional properties. m.ngo is am.ng the m.st econom.cally and culturally im.ortant tropical fruits. m.ngos have becom. a standard food crop in south Iran. Quality determ.nation of fruits is at present characterized by the overwhelm.ng use of sensory. Quality indices include prim.rily external properties, such as appearance, size, shape, colour, texture, and flavour. m.ngoes are rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants are really necessary for hum.n diet and a healthy and longer life. Num.rous phytochem.cals are present in m.ngo peel and pulp, such as the triterpene, lupeol which is under basic research for its potential biological effects. Thus high quality will attract people to the high consum.tion of fruits. Cultivars prepared with the origin of the Iran, India, Pakistan, and the Philippines. In this study, 10 cultivars were com.ared in term. of som. indicators of quality in Ahvaz. One of the m.ngo quality evaluation m.thods is sensory laboratory evaluation (panel test). This research carried out at 2013 in Cham.an University, Ahvaz, Iran. The result indicated that the m.st quality was related to Alphonso cultivar. On this basis, fruit features such as m.ngo flesh and skin color are an im.ortant com.onent role in consum.r acceptability.
