Among the environmentally friendly marine energies,tidal current power plants require low cost because they do not need to construct a large *** power is particularly reliable energy source because the power generation capacity is predictable regardless of weather or *** materials or stainless steel have been used as materials of blades for current power ***,their strength and welding performance generated many problems in field *** alloys with excellent cavitation resistance and corrosion resistance were applied as blade materials to improve the durability of copper *** were coated with WC-27NiCr and WC-10Co4Cr using the high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) *** metal spray coating technology has the advantage in terms of the selection of materials for cost effectiveness and environmental effects of corrosion because the properties of the coat layer can be controlled *** with WC-27NiCr and WC-10Co4Cr by HVOF,WC-27NiCr shows better corrosion resistance *** reason for this seems to be that corrosion resistance improves and a stable passive film forms due to the effects of Ni and Cr.

Here,furfural oxidation was performed to replace the kinetically sluggish O_(2)evolution reaction(OER).Pt-Co_(3)O_(4)nanospheres were developed via pulsed laser ablation in liquid(PLAL)in a single step for the paired electrocatalysis of an H_(2)evolution reaction(HER)and furfural oxidation reaction(FOR).The FOR afforded a high furfural conversion(44.2%)with a major product of 2-furoic acid after a 2-h electrolysis at 1.55 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode in a 1.0-M KOH/50-mM furfural *** Pt-Co_(3)O_(4)electrode exhibited a small overpotential of 290 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2).As an anode and cathode in an electrolyzer system,the Pt-Co_(3)O_(4)electrocatalyst required only a small applied cell voltage of~1.83 V to deliver 10 mA cm^(-2),compared with that of the pure water electrolyzer(OER||HER,~1.99 V).This study simultaneously realized the integrated production of energy-saving H_(2)fuel at the cathode and 2-furoic acid at the anode.

Most hulls of the ships are protected with paintings, sacrificial anode, and impressed current cathodic protection methods against corrosion problems. However, these conventional methods are not very effective because the rudder of ships stern are exposed to very severe corrosive environment such as tides, speeds of ships, cavitations and erosion corrosion. The environmental factors such as cavitation and corrosion will cause damage for materials with the shock wave by the creation and destruction of bubble. To solve these problems, the cavitation and electrochemical experiments are executed for thermal spray coating with Al-Zn alloy wire material. Thereafter, and sealed specimens with F-Si sealer on Al-Zn alloy coated specimen are executed to improve electrochemical and anti-cavitation characteristics in sea water. The application of fluorine silicon sealing after spray coating of 15%Al-85%Zn seems to be appropriate not only in static environment but also in dynamic environment.

Electrochemical behavior of 5083-H116 Al alloy with flow velocity of seachest material for Al ship was *** examine the electrochemical characteristics of flow velocity and its effects on the performance of the alloy,experiments were conducted at four flow velocity variables using static state with an *** ultrasonic vibration generator using piezoelectric effect was used in cavitation test according to the requirements of in *** results show that the corrosion current density and damage were increased by applying the flow velocity compared to static ***,it is determined that the case of applying flow velocity is weaker to the corrosion.

The mechanical characteristies for friction stir welding (FSW) of 5083-O Al alloy were evaluated. The results show that in FSW at 800 r/min and 124 mm/min, a weld defect is observed at the start point. However, the button shape at the end point is good and the stir zone has a soft appearance. At 267 mm/min, a void occurs at the button. A slight weld defect and rough stir zone are seen both at the start and end points at 342 mm/min. Moreover, at the bottom, a tunnel-type void is observed from an early stage to the end point, and at 1 800 r/min, a weld defect can be found from an early stage to the end point. These defects are rough with imperfect joining due to excessive rotation speed and high physical force. Weld fractures relative to rotational and travel speeds are observed at the stir zone. The optimum FSW conditions are a welding speed of 124 mm/min and a rotational speed of 800 r/min.

Here,CuO nanorods fabricated via pulsed laser ablation in liquids were decorated with Ir,Pd,and Ru NPs(loading~7 wt%) through pulsed laser irradiation in the liquids *** resulting NPs-decorated CuO nanorods were characterized spectroscopically and employed as multifunctional electrocatalysts in OER,HER,and the furfural oxidation reactions(FOR).Ir-CuO nanorods afford the lowest overpotential of~345 mV(HER) and 414 mV(OER) at 10 mA cm^(-2),provide the highest 2-furoic acid yield(~10.85 mM) with 64.9% selectivity,and the best Faradaic efficiency~72.7% in 2 h of FOR at 1.58 V(***).In situ electrochemical-Raman analysis of the Ir-CuO detects the formation of the crucial intermediates,such as Cu(Ⅲ)-oxide,Cu(OH)_(2),and Ir_x(OH)_y,on the electrode-electrolyte surface,which act as a promoter for HER and *** Ir-CuO ‖ Ir-CuO in a coupled HER and FOR-electrolyzer operates at~200 mV lower voltage,compared with the conventional electrolyzer and embodies the dual advantage of energy-saving H_(2) and 2-furoic acid production.

Optimizing the structure and components is a prevalent strategy for increasing electrocatalytic energy-saving H 2 fuel *** of the sustainable and efficient techniques is electrocatalytic water split-ting for H 2 generation,but it is still restricted by the kinetically sluggish *** to the lower standard oxidation potential of−0.33 V,replacing the OER with anodic hydrazine oxidation reaction(HzOR)is an effective way to extensively reduce the use of electricity in water *** alloying,the semiconductor and adsorption characteristics of Cu,interlaced by Pd 2+solution on the Pd surface by pulsed laser ablation(PLA)in methanol,are selectively altered to maximize cathodic HER and anodic HzOR *** optimal Cu1Pd3/C ratio demonstrates outstanding HER performance with a low overpotential of 0.315 V at 10 mA cm^(−2),as well as an ultralow overpotential of 0.560 V for HzOR in 0.5 M N_(2) H_(4)/1.0 M ***,the constructed HzOR-assisted electrolyzer cell with Cu1Pd3/C||Cu1Pd3/C as anode and cathode exhibits a cell voltage of 0.505 V at 10 mA cm^(−2) with exceptional en-durance over 5 *** current study advances competent CuPd alloys as multifunctional electrocatalysts for H 2 fuel production using a HzOR-assisted energy-efficient electrolyzer.
