Endoscopic repair of delayed stomach perforation caused by penetrating trauma:A case report

BACKGROUND Primary endoscopic closure of a perforated gastric wall during endoscopic procedures is mostly effective and well-tolerated;however,there are very few studies on the efficacy of endoscopic management of delayed traumatic gastric ***,we report a novel case of a patient who was successfully treated for delayed traumatic stomach perforation using an alternative endoscopic *** SUMMARY A 39-year-old woman presented with multiple penetrating traumas in the back and left abdominal *** imaging studies revealed left diaphragmatic disruption and peri-splenic hemorrhage without gastric *** emergency primary repair of the disrupted diaphragm with omental reduction and suturing of the lacerated lung was performed;however,delayed free perforation of the gastric wall was noted on computed tomography after 3 *** an emergency abdominal surgery for the primary repair of the gastric wall,re-perforation was noted 15 d *** high risk associated with re-surgery prompted an endoscopic intervention using 2 endoloops and 11 endoscopic clips using a novel modified purse-string suture *** free perforated gastric wall was successfully repaired without additional surgery or *** patient was discharged after 46 d without any *** Endoscopic closure with endoloops and clips can be a useful therapeutic alternative to re-surgery for delayed traumatic gastric perforation.

Joint member angle limits of composite beams and CFT square columns

This work aims to understand the relationship between the member angle limit and the energy ratio for 24 test samples of composite beams and CFT square steel tube columns. This work also compares the formula applicability for member angle limit with the previous test result to provide the basic data for the design of composite beam-CFT column. The evaluation of the member angle limit was performed with concrete compressive strength (fC =22.16 MPa, 30.49 MPa), breadth-to-thickness ratio (B/t=25.0, 33.3, 43.5), and axial capacity ratio (N/N0=0, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5) as the main variables of the test samples. For the relationship between the member angle limit (Ru) and the energy ratio (ES/EC ), the test result shows that the energy ratio becomes lower as the axial capacity ratio and the breadth-to-thickness ratio increase. The energy ratio is lower for the Type B test sample compared with that of Types A and C. For the formula suggested by SATO, the test samples are distributed evenly for comparison between test values and the member angle limit; however, other formulas indicate a deviation. Specifically, for the comparison between R u,cal and R u (Test), Maeda's formula shows severe deviation.

Aerosol-assisted rapid synthesis of SnS-C composite microspheres as anode material for Na-ion batteries

SnS-C composite powders were prepared through one-pot spray pyrolysis for use as anode materials for Na-ion batteries. C microspheres with uniformly attached cubic-like SnS nanocrystals, which have an amorphous C coating layer, were formed at a preparation temperature of 900 ℃. The initial discharge capacities of the bare SnS and SnS-C composite powders at a current density of 500 mA·g^-1 were 695 and 740 mA·h·g^-1, respectively. The discharge capacities after 50 cycles and the capacity retentions measured from the second cycle of the bare SnS and SnS-C composite powders were 25 and 433 mA.h.g-1 and 5 and 89%, respectively. The prepared SnS-C composite powders with high reversible capacities and good cycle performance can be used as Na-ion battery anode materials.

MOF‑Derived CoSe2@N‑Doped Carbon Matrix Confined in Hollow Mesoporous Carbon Nanospheres as High‑Performance Anodes for Potassium‑Ion Batteries

In this work,a novel vacuum-assisted strategy is proposed to homogenously form Metal-organic frameworks within hollow mesoporous carbon nanospheres(HMCSs)via a solid-state *** method is applied to synthesize an ultrafine CoSe2 nanocrystal@N-doped carbon matrix confined within HMCSs(denoted as CoSe2@NC/HMCS)for use as advanced anodes in highperformance potassium-ion batteries(KIBs).The approach involves a solvent-free thermal treatment to form a Co-based zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF-67)within the HMCS templates under vacuum conditions and the subsequent *** treatment under vacuum facilitates the infiltration of the cobalt precursor and organic linker into the HMCS and simultaneously transforms them into stable ZIF-67 particles without any *** the subsequent selenization process,the“dual confinement system”,composed of both the N-doped carbon matrix derived from the organic linker and the small-sized pores of HMCS,can effectively suppress the overgrowth of CoSe2 ***,the resulting uniquely structured composite exhibits a stable cycling performance(442 mAh g^−1 at 0.1 A g^−1 after 120 cycles)and excellent rate capability(263 mAh g^−1 at 2.0 A g^−1)as the anode material for KIBs.

Characteristics of bifurcation and buckling load of space truss in consideration of initial imperfection and load mode

This study investigated characteristics of bifurcation and critical buckling load by shape imperfection of space truss,which were sensitive to initial *** critical point and buckling load were computed by the analysis of the eigenvalues and determinants of the tangential stiffness *** two-free-nodes example and star dome were selected for the case study in order to examine the nodal buckling and global buckling by the sensitivity to the eigen buckling mode and the analyses of the influence,and characteristics of the parameters as defined by the load ratio of the center node and surrounding node,as well as rise-span ratio were *** sensitivity to the imperfection of the initial shape of the two-free-nodes example,which occurs due to snapping at the critical point,resulted in bifurcation before the limit point due to the buckling mode,and the buckling load was reduced by the increase in the amount of *** two sensitive buckling patterns of the numerical model are established by investigating the displaced position of the free nodes,and the asymmetric eigenmode greatly influenced the behavior of the imperfection shape whether it was at limit point or ***,the sensitive mode of the two-free-nodes example was similar to the in-extensional basis mechanism of a simplified *** star dome,which was used to examine the influence among several nodes,indicated that the influence of nodal buckling was greater than that of global buckling as the rise-span ratio was ***,global buckling is occurred with reaching bifurcation point as the value of load ratio was higher,and the buckling load level was about 50%-70% of load level at limit point.

Carbon-Coated Three-Dimensional MXene/Iron Selenide Ball with Core–Shell Structure for High-Performance Potassium-Ion Batteries

Two-dimensional(2D)MXenes are promising as electrode materials for energy storage,owing to their high electronic conductivity and low diffusion ***,similar to most 2D materials,MXene nanosheets easily restack during the electrode preparation,which degrades the electrochemical performance of MXene-based materials.A novel synthetic strategy is proposed for converting MXene into restacking-inhibited three-dimensional(3D)balls coated with iron selenides and *** strategy involves the preparation of Fe_(2)O_(3)@carbon/MXene microspheres via a facile ultrasonic spray pyrolysis and subsequent selenization *** 3D structuring effectively prevents interlayer restacking,increases the surface area,and accelerates ion transport,while maintaining the attractive properties of ***,combining iron selenides and carbon with 3D MXene balls offers many more sites for ion storage and enhances the structural robustness of the composite *** resultant 3D structured microspheres exhibit a high reversible capacity of 410 mAh g^(−1) after 200 cycles at 0.1 A g^(−1) in potassium-ion batteries,corresponding to the capacity retention of 97% as calculated based on 100 *** at a high current density of 5.0 A g^(−1),the composite exhibits a discharge capacity of 169 mAh g^(−1).

Environmental friendly synthesis of hierarchical mesoporous platinum nanoparticles templated by fucoidan biopolymer for enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction

Researching novel hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalysts with enhanced electrocatalytic activity,excellent stability,and cost-efficiency is of great significance for the large-scale hydrogen production from industrial electrolysis *** report the preparation of hierarchical mesoporous-Pt nanoparticles(HM-Pt NPs)with coral-like rough surface morphologies using environmental friendly and biocompatible fucoidan(Fu)biopolymer as a surface engineering compound and its application to electrocatalysts for *** designed HM-Pt NPs yields better mass activity of electrocatalysts compared to a commercial Pt/***-Pt NPs showed an overpotential of 33 mV at 10 mA cm-2 for the HER in 0.5 MH2SO4,which was highly comparable to that of the commercial Pt/C catalysts(29 mV).However,the amount of HM-Pt NPs loaded in glassy carbon electrode(0.033 mg mL-1)was approximately 20 times lower than that of the commercial Pt/C(0.64 mg *** HM-Pt NPs also maintained high catalytic stability with a consistent HER current density after 1000 continuous *** excellent HER performance is attributed to the improved electrochemical surface area,highly porous structure,and good surface wettability of the HM-Pt NPs,which results in enhanced electrocatalytic activity,decreased resistance at the electrode/electrolyte interface,and facile penetration of the electrolytes inside the electrode.

Smooth cutting pattern generation technique for membrane structures using geodesic line on subplane and spline interpolation

Practical techniques for smooth geodesic patterning of membrane structures were *** the geodesic search,adjustment of the subplane of the extracted elements series was proposed,and various spline approximation methods were used to flatten the strip for the generation of a smooth *** search approach is very simple,and the geodesic line could be easily attained by the proposed method without the need for a difficult computation *** cutting patterning can also be generated by spline approximation without the noise in discrete nodal ***,the geodesic cutting pattern saved about 21%of the required area for the catenary model due to the reduction of the curvature of the planar pattern seam line.
