The demand to enhance the optical resolution, to structure and observe ever smaller details, has pushed the way towards the EUV and soft X-rays. Induced mainly by the production of more powerful electronic circuits with the aid of projection lithography, optics developments in recent years can be characterized by the use of electromagnetic radiation with smaller wavelength. The good prospects of the EUV and soft X-rays for next generation lithography systems (λ=13.5 nm), microscopy in the “water window” (λ=2.3～4.4 nm), astronomy (λ=5～31 nm), spectroscopy, plasma diagnostics and EUV/soft X-ray laser research have led to considerable progress in the development of different multilayer optics. Since optical systems in the EUV/soft X-ray spectral region consist of several mirror elements a maximum reflectivity of each multilayer is essential for a high throughput. This paper covers recent results of the enhanced spectral behavior of mo/Si, Cr/Sc and Sc/Si multilayer optics.

The aim of this paper is to present the backward substitution method for solving a class of fractional dual-phase-lag models of heat *** proposed method is based on the Fourier series expansion along the spatial coordinate over the orthonormal basis formed by the eigenfunctions of the corresponding Sturm-Liouville *** Fourier expansion of the solution transforms the original fractional par-tial differential equation into a sequence of multi-term fractional ordinary differential *** fractional equations are solved by the use of the backward substi-tution *** numerical examples with temperature-jump boundary condition and parameters of the tissue conﬁrm the high accuracy and efﬁciency of the proposed numerical scheme.

This paper presents an efficient numerical technique for solving multi-term linear systems of fractional ordinary differential equations(FODEs)which have been widely used in modeling various phenomena in engineering and *** approximate solution of the system is sought in the formof the finite series over the müntz *** using the collocation procedure in the time interval,one gets the linear algebraic system for the coefficient of the expansion which can be easily solved numerically by a standard *** technique also serves as the basis for solving the time-fractional partial differential equations(PDEs).The modified radial basis functions are used for spatial approximation of the *** collocation in the solution domain transforms the equation into a system of fractional ordinary differential equations similar to the one mentioned *** examples have verified the performance of the proposed novel technique with high accuracy and efficiency.

CFD–DEm simulation of fine particles in a spouted bed apparatus with a Wurster tube

In this work, a coupled computational fluid dynamics–discrete element method (CFD–DEm) approach was employed to evaluate the spouting behavior of fine, cohesive powders in a cylindrical spouted bed with a conical base and equipped with a Wurster tube. The particle and gas dynamics inside the apparatus were simulated with 1.7 million spherical ZrO2 particles with a particle size of 100 μm. For an accurate prediction of the interactions of cohesive particles in the spouted bed, the adhesion forces according to JKR theory were included in the Hertz–Tsuji contact model. The surface energy of the particles was varied over a wide range to determine the effect of the adhesion on the spouting (the fountain shape and maximum height as well as the distribution of the concentrations and velocities of particles in different zones of the apparatus). A detailed analysis of the collision dynamics was conducted. The spouting behavior of a spouted bed with the same dimensions, particles, and processing parameters was recorded with a high-speed camera. The CFD–DEm simulations showed good agreement with the experimentally captured spouting behavior.

Effect of CeO_2 and Al_2O_3 on the activity of Pd/Co_3O_4/cordierite catalyst in the three-way catalysis reactions(CO/NO/C_nH_m)

The present article studies the effect of CeO2 and A1203 on the activity of Pd/Co304/cordierite catalyst in conversion of NO, CO, CnHm. The catalysts were characterized by temperature programmed reduction with hydrogen, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. It is shown that the effect of CeO2 on the properties of Pd/C03 O4/cordierite catalyst depends on preparation method. The catalyst obtained by co-deposition of cerium and cobalt oxides has higher activity in CO oxidation （CO ＋ 02 and CO ＋ NO） and total hexane oxidation （C6H14 ＋ 02）. Such phenomenon is probably caused by more than stoichiometric amount of formed oxygen vacancies, an increase in both mobility of surface oxygen and dispersity of components in the catalytic composition. It is demonstrated that CeO2 addition promotes the SO2 resistance of Pd/C03 O4/cordierite. The second support decreases the activity of Pd/Co3Oa/cordierite catalyst in the reactions of CO and C6H14 with oxygen because of COA1204 formation.

This paper presents a new numerical technique for solving initial and bound-ary value problems with unsteady strongly nonlinear advection diffusion reaction(ADR)*** method is based on the use of the radial basis functions(RBF)for the approximation space of the *** Crank-Nicolson scheme is used for approximation in *** results in a sequence of stationary nonlinear ADR *** equations are solved sequentially at each time step using the proposed semi-analytical technique based on the *** approximate solution is sought in the form of the analytical expansion over basis functions and contains free *** basis functions are constructed in such a way that the expansion satisfies the boundary conditions of the problem for any choice of the free *** free parameters are determined by substitution of the expansion in the equation and collocation in the solution *** the case of a nonlinear equation,we use the well-known procedure of *** transforms the original equation into a sequence of the linear ones on each time *** numerical examples confirm the high accuracy and robustness of the proposed numerical scheme.

Uncovering electron scattering mechanisms in NiFeCoCrmn derived concentrated solid solution and high entropy alloys

Whilst it has long been known that disorder profoundly affects transport properties,recent measurements on a series of solid solution 3d-transition metal alloys reveal two orders of magnitude variations in the residual *** ab initio methods,we demonstrate that,while the carrier density of all alloys is as high as in normal metals,the electron mean-free-path can vary from~10Å(strong scattering limit)to~103Å(weak scattering limit).Here,we delineate the underlying electron scattering mechanisms responsible for this disparate *** site-diagonal,spin dependent,potential scattering is always dominant,for alloys containing only Fe,Co,and Ni the majority-spin channel experiences negligible disorder scattering,thereby providing a short circuit,while for Cr/mn containing alloys both spin channels experience strong disorder scattering due to an electron filling *** surprisingly,other scattering mechanisms-including displacement,or size effect,scattering which has been shown to strongly correlate with such diverse properties as yield strength—are found to be relatively weak in most cases.

An investigation of hydrotalcite-derived ternary mg-Al-Ce oxides as catalysts for vapour phase condensation of ethanol to 1-butanol in a flow reactor under atmospheric pressure was carried *** mg-Al-Ce oxide systems with mg/(Al+Ce)ratio from 1 to 4 were synthesized and characterized by XRD,SEm,NmR,and *** study of acid-base characteristics of the systems with different mg/(Al+Ce)ratio by NH3/CO_(2)quasi-equilibrium thermal desorption techniques shows that the ratio of the catalyst oxide components(mg,Al,Ce)can provide acid/base capacity ratio close to 3 for the effectivity of the target *** highest selectivity 68%is reached over mg-Al-Ce oxide catalyst with the ratio of mg/(Al+Ce)=2.
