Relevance of liver fibrosis amongst diabetic patients with metabolic-dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD)and knowledge gaps Insulin resistance is paramount in the crosstalk between intrahepatic and extrahepatic pathophysiological mechanisms leading to MASLD(1),hence gaining special relevance in patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes(T2D).MASLD is the term that was recently endorsed by an international multidisciplinary consensus panel to replace non-alcoholic fatty liver disease[as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)was replaced by metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis(MASH)](2).

Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)is a highly lethal malignancy that comprises approximately 15%of all the primary liver tumors and 3% of gastrointestinal *** is often done when the disease is already at advanced stages,resulting in poor *** of risk factors and early diagnosis are the cornerstones for improving *** diagnosis is feasible in the setting of surveillance programs in patients at high risk of CCA such as patients with primary sclerosing ***,surveillance of CCA in this population is hampered by the low diagnostic accuracy of current tumor markers at earlier stages,the difficulties of imaging techniques for the differential diagnosis between benign and malignant biliary strictures,and the need for invasive procedures for diagnostic *** this review we discuss the rationale for surveillance of CCA in high-risk populations,particularly patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis,the recommended tools for surveillance and diagnostic work-up,and future perspectives.

In the context of Semiosic Translation,two elements are essential for a translation to emerge:the body–brain–context interface(extended mind)and the sign systems making up a translation *** this paper,I explain how a renewed view of the body as a Bayesian-heuristic Semiotic Prior helps to understand in a more holistic manner the motivations and agentive character of translation,defined herein as a phenomenological grasp of the *** to the present proposal is the idea that bodily self-stabilization(homeostasis)and brain-driven correction(allostasis)provide translator-agents with maps of action upon the world that are semiotic in *** this occurs thanks to information weighing(Bayesian)and cue-driven(heuristic)types of inference whereby exteroceptive(exogenous)and interoceptive(inner-body)signals converge to create a sense of bodily awareness responsible for the construction of the symbolic persona(the translator-agent).

Technological improvements are crucial in the evolution of ***-time fluorescence-guided surgery(FGS)has spread worldwide,mainly because of its usefulness during the intraoperative decision-making *** success of any gastrointestinal oncologic resection is based on the anatomical identification of the primary tumor and its regional lymph *** allows also to evaluate the blood perfusion at the gastrointestinal stumps after colorectal or esophageal ***,a reduction on the anastomotic leak rates has been postulated as one of the foreseeable benefits provided by the use of FGS in these *** the use of fluorescence in lymph node detection was initially described in breast cancer surgery,the technique is currently applied in gastric or splenic flexure cancers,as they both present complex and variable lymphatic *** allows also to perform intraoperative lymphograms or sentinel lymph node *** applications of FGS are being developed to assist in the detection of peritoneal metastases or in the evaluation of the tumor resection *** present review aims to provide a general overview of the current status of real-time FGS in gastrointestinal oncologic *** put a special focus on the different applications of FGS,discussing the main findings and limitations found in the contemporary literature and also the promising near future applications.

Thin films of SnSe and SnSe2 have been deposited using the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis（USP） *** the best of our knowledge this is the first report of the deposition of SnSe and SnSe2 thin films using a single spray *** use of a single spray solution for obtaining both a p-type material,SnSe,and an n-type material,SnSe2,simplifies the deposition *** SnSe2 thin films have a bandgap of 1.1 eV and the SnSe thin films have a band gap of 0.9 *** Hall measurements were used to determine the resistivity of the thin *** SnSe2 thin films show a resistivity of 36.73 Ωcm and n-type conductivity while the SnSe thin films show a resistivity of 180 Ωcm and p-type conductivity.

Background: Predictive models shed light on aboveground fungal yield dynamics and can assist decision-making in forestry by integrating this valuable non-wood forest product into forest management planning. However, the currently existing models are based on rather local data and, thus, there is a lack of predictive tools to monitor mushroom yields on larger ***: This work presents the first empirical models for predicting the annual yields of ectomycorrhizal mushrooms and related ecosystem services in Pinus sylvestris and Pinus pinaster stands in northern Spain, using a long-term dataset suitable to account for the combined effect of meteorological conditions and stand *** were fitted for the following groups of fungi separately: all ectomycorrhizal mushrooms, edible mushrooms and marketed mushrooms. Our results show the influence of the weather variables(mainly precipitation) on mushroom yields as well as the relevance of the basal area of the forest stand that follows a right-skewed unimodal curve with maximum predicted yields at stand basal areas of 30–40 m2·***: These models are the first empirical models for predicting the annual yields of ectomycorrhizal mushrooms in Pinus sylvestris and Pinus pinaster stands in northern Spain, being of the highest resolution developed to date and enable predictions of mushrooms productivity by taking into account weather conditions and forests’ location, composition and structure.

Background Recent changes in climatic trends are resulting in an increased frequency and intensity of extreme events, with unknown effect on ecosystem dynamics in the near future. Extreme drought episodes are recognized as disturbance factors capable of modifying forest dynamics and tree growth. Within this context, dioecious tree species may be impacted by climatic extremes, affecting male/female proportions and, consequently, reproductive processes and species persistence. Therefore, there is an urgent need for species-specific assessments of growth tolerance to extreme dry spells in dioecious tree species, to establish effective conservation strategies for these particular natural resources. Araucaria araucana(araucaria), an endangered dioecious Patagonian tree species, has recently undergone decay and mortality episodes in response to increasing dry climatic conditions. While sex-dependent tolerance to extreme drought episodes has been assessed in the species' humid distribution range, there is still a lack of information on the gender-based resilience of trees growing in the drier environments of the species' *** We reconstructed, through dendrochronological methods, the sex-dependent response of 105 araucaria individuals(55 female and 50 male trees) to five regional extreme dry spells employing a set of different indices. Resistance, recovery period, and average growth reduction of standardized tree-ring growth were examined, analysing the effect of biotic(sex, pre-drought stem tree growth) and abiotic(local climatic conditions before, during, and after extreme climatic episodes) factors on tree *** Sex influences only the species resistance to climatic disturbance, with male individuals showing lower tolerance to extreme drought events.
