We study molybdenum disulfide （Mos2） structures generated by folding single-layer and bilayer Mos2 flakes. We find that this modified layer stacking leads to a decrease in the interlayer coupling and an enhancement of the photoluminescence emission yield. We additionally find that folded single-layer Mos2 structures show a contribution to photoluminescence spectra of both neutral and charged excitons, which is a characteristic feature of single-layer Mos2 that has not been observed in multilayer Mos2. The results presented here open the door to fabrication of multilayered Mos2 samples with high optical absorption while maintaining the advantageous enhanced photoluminescence emission of single-layer Mos2 by controllably twisting the Mos2 layers.

The coast of Acapulco is located within the Marine Priority Region No. 32 (MPR No. 32) at the state of Guerrero, Mexico. The National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity has stated the lack of information on marine species that live there, among which are the Class Polyplacophora. This study aimed to: 1) determine species richness, 2) the community structure based on the representative families, 3) estimate the density, 4) locate species distribution, 5) determine their degree of occurrence (hierarchical position) within the community, 6) analyze the structure of length and width across the populations and 7) estimate the diversity index. The intertidal rocky substrate at seven beaches was sampled from 2009 to 2012. The sampling unit 1 m2, while the area sampled was 10 m2. It was analyzed 2.548 specimens of Polyplacophora, with 20 species identified. Tonicellidae and Ischnochitonidae were the Families better represented inspecies richness and Chitonidae in abundance. Lepidochitona flectens is a new record for the Mexican Tropical Pacific and stenoplax mariposa for MPR. No. 32. The density was 25.48 specimens/m2. Eight dominant species were determined. Chiton albolineatus had the highest density. Ischnochiton muscarius, Chaetopleura unilineata, Chiton albolineatus and Chiton articulatus presented wide distribution. Chiton articulatus showed the largest size in length and width. H’ = 2.01 bits/ individual. Numerous dominant species were present with broad and regular distribution, probably due to Polyplacophora body design, which allows for better adaptation to the rigorous environmental conditions of the rocky intertidal.

AIM: To address the therapeutic efficacy of various treatment regimens in genotype 3 selecting randomized clinical trials and prospective National Cohort ***:(1) PEG-INF-based therapy including sofosbuvir(sOF) + RBV for 12 wk vs sOF + RBV 24 wk;(2) sOF + RBV therapy 12 wk/16 wk vs 24 wk; and(3) the role of RBV in sOF + daclatasvir(DCV) and sOF + ledipasvir(LDV) combinations. This metaanalysis provides robust information with the intention of addressing treatment strategy for hepatitis C virus genotype ***: A combination treatment including sOF + RBV + PEG-IFN for 12 wk notes better sVR than with only sOF + RBV for 12 wk, although its association with more frequent adverse effects may be a limiting factor. Longer duration therapy with sOF + RBV(24 wk) has achieved higher sVR rates than shorter durations(12 or 16 wk). sOF + LDV are not an ideal treatment for genotype 3. CONCLUsION: Lastly, sOF + DCV combination is probably the best oral therapy option and the addition of RBV does not appear to be needed to increase sVR rates substantially.

Glucocorticoids play a key role in mediating stress responses in vertebrates. Corticosterone （CORT） is the main glucocorticoid produced in amphibians, birds, and reptiles, and regulates several metabolic functions. The most common methods for quantifying CORT are competitive binding immunoassays： radioimmunoassay （Ria） and enzyme immunoassay （Eia）. Ria has been broadly used since the 1980＇s but it requires radioactivity. Commercial Eia kits permit quantifying hormone levels without radioactivity although the requirement for a larger sample volume may be a strong limitation for measurements involving larval amphibians. Here we used Xenopus laevis tadpoles to compare the performance of three commonly used procedures for determination of CORT： Ria on a chloroform extract of whole-body homogenate, Eia on plasma, and Eia on supematant of whole-body homogenate. We treated tadpoles with exogenous CORT at 0, 25, 50, and 100 nM. Ria could distinguish between 0 and 25 nM, and Eia on plasma between 0 and 50 nM, whereas whole-body homogenate Eia only detected significant differences between 0 and 100 riM. Each procedure presents advantages and disadvantages regarding sensitivity, the use of radioactivity, sample size, handling time, and economic cost. Ria is preferred when studying small-bodied animals from which blood samples cannot be obtained. When CORT level differences are intermediate and blood sampling is possible, Eia on plasma is a good non-radioactive alternative. Eia on whole-body homogenates may be useful to assess qualitative changes in CORT levels when considerable differences are expected. Finally, we discuss our findings in the context of previous studies on CORT in amphibians [Current Zoology 61 （5）： 835-845, 2015].

In this paper we introduce an extension of the half-normal distribution in order to model a great variety of non-negative data. Its hazard rate function can be decreasing or increasing, depending on its parameters. some properties of this new distribution are presented. For example, we give a general expression for the moments and a stochastic representation. Also, the cumulative distribution function, the hazard rate function, the survival function and the quantile function can be easily evaluated. Maximum likelihood estimators can be computed by using numerical procedures. Finally, a real-life dataset has been presented to illustrate its applicability.

strain engineering has arisen as a powerful technique to tune the electronic and optical properties of twod imensional semiconductors like molybdenum disulfide(Mos_(2)).Although several theoretical works predicted that biaxial strain would be more effective than uniaxial strain to tune the band structure of Mos_(2),a direct experimental verification is still missing in the *** we implemented a simple experimental setup that allows to apply biaxial strain through the bending of a cruciform polymer *** used the setup to study the effect of biaxial strain on the differential reflectance spectra of 12 single-layer Mos_(2)flakes finding a redshift of the excitonic features at a rate between-40 meV/%and-110 meV/%of biaxial *** also directly compare the effect of biaxi al and uniaxial strain on the same single-layer Mos_(2)finding that the biaxial strain gauge factor is 2.3 times larger than the uniaxial strain one.
