Since the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)has rapidly spread worldwide,there is still limited knowledge about this condition and its natural *** have been relatively spared during COVID-19 pandemic but a novel syndrome known as multisystem inflammatory syndrome(MIS-C)has emerged,following a SARS-CoV-2 infection in children and *** syndrome can lead to shock and multiple organ failure requiring intensive *** COVID-19 clinical research focuses on respiratory symptoms,extrapulmonary involvement such as gastrointestinal(GI)and hepatic manifestations should also be *** fact,GI and hepatic involvement play an important role among the most common presenting symptoms of both pediatric and adult COVID-19 and *** involvement can not only be one of the most common presenting clinical features but also one of the sequelae of these *** ultrasonography monitoring could be very useful to identify a potential involvement of the GI tract and ***,long-term follow-up is needed and would be essential to define the long-term outcomes of these patients.

Hercule Poirot has died, and his death was witnessed by the nearly five million viewers ofCurtain： Poirot＇s last case, the concluding episode of the long lasting ITV television series Agatha Christie＇s Poirot. Poirot was played for one final time by David Suchet, who, in the course of the series, has managed to appropriate the character to an extent that no previous actor has achieved. This article suggests that Suchet has indeed made of Poirot a ＂fictional celebrity＂, and analyses Curtain on the one hand by looking at its critical reception, and on the other by considering the hour-long documentary Being Poirot, in which David Suchet discusses his personal journey as the character.

liver disease is associated with qualitative and quantitative changes in the intestinal microbiota. In cirrhotic patients the alteration in gut microbiota is characterized by an overgrowth of potentially pathogenic bacteria (i.e., gram negative species) and a decrease in autochthonous familiae. Here we summarize the available literature on the risk of gut dysbiosis in liver cirrhosis and its clinical consequences. We therefore described the features of the complex interaction between gut microbiota and cirrhotic host, the so called “gut-liver axis”, with a particular attention to the acquired risk of bacterial translocation, systemic inflammation and the relationship with systemic infections in the cirrhotic patient. Such knowledge might help to develop novel and innovative strategies for the prevention and therapy of gut dysbiosis and its complication in liver cirrhosis.

BACKGROUND The pandemic outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)has highlighted the need to combine rapid,non-invasive and widely accessible techniques with the least risk of patient’s cross-infection to achieve a successful early detection and surveillance of the *** this regard,the lung ultrasound(lUS)technique has been proved invaluable in both the differential diagnosis and the follow-up of COVID-19 patients,and its potential may be destined to ***,indeed,lUS has been empowered through the development of automated image processing *** To provide a systematic review of the application of artificial intelligence(AI)technology in medical lUS analysis of COVID-19 patients using the preferred reporting items of systematic reviews and meta-analysis(PRISMA)*** A literature search was performed for relevant studies published from March 2020-outbreak of the pandemic-to 30 September *** articles were included in the result synthesis of this *** As part of the review,we presented the main characteristics related to AI techniques,in particular deep learning(Dl),adopted in the selected articles.A survey was carried out on the type of architectures used,availability of the source code,network weights and open access datasets,use of data augmentation,use of the transfer learning strategy,type of input data and training/test datasets,and *** Finally,this review highlighted the existing challenges,including the lack of large datasets of reliable COVID-19-based lUS images to test the effectiveness of Dl methods and the ethical/regulatory issues associated with the adoption of automated systems in real clinical scenarios.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) share a common route of transmission so that about one third of HIV infected individuals show HCV coinfection. Highly active antiretroviral therapy has offered a longer and better life to infected patients. While has removed AIDS-related diseases from the list of most common causes of death their place has been taken by complications of HCV infection, such as cirrhosis, end stage liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). HIV/HCV co-infection requires complex management, especially when HCC is present. Co-infected patients with HCC undergo the same therapeutic protocol as their mono-infected counterparts, but special issues such as interaction between regimens, withdrawal of therapy and choice of immunosuppressive agents, demand a careful approach by specialists. All these issues are analyzed in this minireview.
