Comparison of the efficacy and safety of once-daily dosing and on-demand use of udenafil for type 2 diabetic patients with erectile dysfunction

We compared the efficacy and safety between once-daily dosing and on-demand use of udenafil for type 2 diabetic patients with erectile dysfunction （ED）. A multi-center, randomized, open-label, parallel-group, 12-week.study was conducted. 161 patients who improved with on-demand 200 mg of udenafil according to Sexual Encounter Profile （SEP） diary Question 2 and 3 （Q2 and Q3） were randomized into 200 mg on-demand （n = 80） or 50 mg once-daily （n = 81） dosing groups for 8 week.. The dosing period was followed by a 4-week.treatment-free period. The primary efficacy endpoint was the change of the International Index of Erectile Function （IIEF） erectile function domain （EFD） score. The secondary efficacy endpoints included changes to the SEP diary Q2, Q3, IIEF Q3, Q4, other domains of IIEF, Global Assessment Question, and shift to the normal rate （EFD 〉 26）. Vascular endothelial mark.rs were also assessed. The IIEF-EFD score of both groups improved after 8 week. of treatment （P 〈 0.0001）. There was no statistically significant difference between two groups. Improvement was not maintained after the treatment-free follow-up period. Similar results were observed in the secondary efficacy endpoints. There was also no significant difference in vascular endothelial mark.rs. Daily udenafil was well-tolerated, and there was no significant difference in the adverse drug reactions and adverse events between the two groups. Flushing and headache were the most frequent adverse events. Both regimens improved ED in diabetic patients and were well-tolerated. Further studies are needed to assess the effect of daily udenafil treatment in diabetic patients.

This study was conducted to fit the diameter-height data of Quercusglaucain Jeju Island, South k.rea to the four commonly used stem taper equations andto evaluate the performance of the four stem taper models using four statistical criteria： Fit index （FI）, root mean square error （RMSE）, bias （）,and absolute mean difference （AMD）. Results showed that the k.zak.2stem taper equation provided the best FI（0.9847）, RMSE（1.5745）,（-0.0030 cm） and AMD （1.0990 cm） whileMax and Burk.art model had the poorest performance among the four stem taper models based on the four evaluation statistics （FI ： 0.9793,RMSE ： 1.8272, ： 0.3040 cm and AMD ： 1.3060 cm）. These stem taper equations can serve as a useful tool for forest managers in estimating the diameter outside bark.at any given height, merchantable stem volumes and total stem volumesof the standing trees of Quercusglaucain theGotjawal forests located in Mount Halla, Jeju Island, South k.rea.

Few long-term follow-up studies have compared the changes in renal function according to the type of statin used in *** compared the long-term effects of statin intensity and type on the changes in the glomerular filtration rate(GFR).We extracted data of patients who took.statin for the first *** analyzed whether or not different statins affect the changes in GFR at 3 months after baseline and 4 years *** included 3678 patients and analyzed the changes in *** GFR decreased by 3.2%±0.4%on average 4 years after the first statin prescription,indicating statistically significant deterioration(from 83.5±0.4 mL/min/1.73 m2 to 79.9±0.4 mL/min/1.73 m2,Pk.,GFR changed with the type of *** work.is the first in k.rea to compare each statin in terms of changes in the GFR after the statin prescription.

Clinicopathologic factors and molecular mark.rs related to lymph node metastasis in early gastric cancer

AIM: To analyze predictive factors for lymph node metastasis in early gastric ***: We analyzed 1104 patients with early gastric cancer(EGC) who underwent a gastrectomy with lymph-node dissection from May 2003 through July 2011. The clinicopathologic factors and molecular mark.rs were assessed as predictors for lymph node metastasis. Molecular mark.rs such as microsatellite instability, human mut L homolog 1, p53, epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2) were included. The χ2 test and logistic regression analysis were used to determine clinicopathologic ***: Lymph node metastasis was observed in 104(9.4%) of 1104 patients. Among 104 cases of lymph node positive patients, 24 patients(3.8%) were mucosal cancers and 80 patients(16.7%) were submucosal. According to histologic evaluation, the number of lymph node metastasis found was 4(1.7%) for well differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma, 45(11.3%) for moderately differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma, 36(14.8%) for poorly differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma, and 19(8.4%) for signet ring cell carcinoma. Of 690 EGC cases, 77 cases(11.2%) showed EGFR overexpression. HER2 overexpression was present in 110 cases(27.1%) of 406 EGC patients. With multivariate analysis, female gender(OR = 2.281, P = 0.009), presence of lymphovascular invasion(OR = 10.950, P k.factors for lymph node ***: Female gender, tumor size, lymphovascular invasion and EGFR overexpression were predictive risk.factors for lymph node metastasis in EGC.

How to improve patient satisfaction during midazolam sedation for gastrointestinal endoscopy?

To determine the procedure-related factors that affect sedation satisfaction and to mak. a suggestion to improve *** prospectively enrolled a total of 456 patients who underwent outpatient endoscopy procedures with midazolam sedation between March 2014 and August 2014. All patients completed both pre- and post-endoscopy questionnaires about sedation expectations and *** study cohort included 167 (36.6%) patients who underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), 167 (36.6%) who underwent colonoscopy, and 122 (26.8%) who underwent a combined procedure (EGD and colonoscopy). Over 80% of all patients were satisfied with sedation using midazolam. In univariate and multivariate analyses, total procedure time in the EGD group, younger age (≤ 50 years), and longer colonoscopy withdrawal time in the colonoscopy group were related to decreased satisfaction with sedation. However, in active monitoring and intervention group, there was no decrease in grade of satisfaction despite longer procedure time due to more procedures during colonoscopy. Younger age (≤ 50 years), longer inter-procedure time gap, and colonoscopy withdrawal time were related to decreased satisfaction in the combined EGD and colonoscopy *** is still a safe and effective sedative for gastrointestinal endoscopy. Satisfaction with sedation depends on several factors including age (≤ 50 years) and procedure time duration. To improve patient satisfaction with sedation, active monitoring of sedation status by the endoscopist should be considered for patients who require long procedure time.

AIM:To evaluate clinical outcomes following implantation of an extended range of vision intraocular lens(IOL),the ZXR00,and a diffractive multifocal IOL with+2.75 diopters(D)add power,the ***:Totally 30 patients who underwent either bilateral implantation of the ZXR00 IOL with intended emmetropia(ZXR00 emmetropia group:20 eyes)and intended micromonovision(ZXR00 monovision group:20 eyes),or bilateral implantation of the Zk.00 IOL with intended emmetropia(Zk.00 group:20 eyes)were included in this *** acuity at 4 m,80,and 40 cm;and the types of halos(misty,fine,and rainbow)were analyzed at one and three months after ***:There were no significant differences in distance visual acuity among the three *** mean uncorrected intermediate visual acuity was better in the ZXR00 emmetropia and monovision groups(0.02 logMAR and 0.02 logMAR,respectively)than in the Zk.00 group(0.14 logMAR).The mean uncorrected near visual acuity was worse in the ZXR00 emmetropia group(0.26 logMAR)than in the ZXR00 monovision and Zk.00 groups(0.12 logMAR and 0.10 logMAR,respectively).There was an increased incidence of rainbow halos in the Zk.00 group vs in either ZXR00 group(P=0.033).CONCLUSION:Implantation of the ZXR00 IOL with intended micromonovision provide superior visual acuity than implantation of the ZXR00 IOL with intended *** ZXR00 IOLs tend to show a lower incidence of rainbow halos than did the Zk.00 IOL.
