the treatment of wastewaters is crucial to maintain the ecological status of receiving waters,and thereby guarantee the protection of aquatic life and human *** quality evaluation is conventionally based on physicochemical parameters,but increasing attention has been paid to integrate physicochemical and biological ***,the regulatory use of fish in biological testing methods has been subject to various ethical and cost concerns,and in vitro cell-based assays have thus become an important topic of ***,the present study intends:(a) to evaluate the efficiency of two different sample pre-concentration techniques (lyophilisation and solid phase extraction) to assess the toxicity of municipal effluents on rat cardiomyoblast H9c2(2-1) cells,and (b) maximizing the use of the effluent sample collected,to estimate the environmental condition of the receiving *** gathered results demonstrate that the H9c2(2-1) sulforhodamine b-based assay is an appropriate in vitro method to assess biological effluent toxicity,and the best results were attained by lyophilising the sample as *** to its response,the H9c2(2-1) cell line might be a possible alternative in vitro model for fish lethal testing to assess the toxicity of municipal *** physicochemical status of the sample suggests a high potential for eutrophication,and iron exceeded the permissible level for wastewater discharge,possibly due to the addition of ferric chloride for wastewater *** general,the levels of carbamazepine and sulfamethoxazole are higher than those reported for other countries,and both surpassed the aquatic protective values for long-term exposure.

New analyses of earlier ALMA observations of oxygen-rich AGb star EP Aquarii are presented,which complete a previously published analysis and offer a different interpretation of the morpho-kinematics of the circumstellar *** birth of the equatorial density enhancement(EDE)is shown to occur very close to the star where evidence for rotation has been *** to the star and where outflows have been observed:their interaction with the gas of the nascent EDE is seen to play an important role in the development of the wind and the evolution of its radial velocity from 8 to 10 km s^(-1) on the polar symmetry axis to~2 km s^(-1) at the *** implies complex morpho-kinematics:making reliable interpretations with reasonable confidence is *** particular,it questions an earlier interpretation implying the presence of a white dwarf companion orbiting the star at an angular distance of -0″4 from its *** proposes instead an interpretation in terms of a standard mass ejection associated with a shock wave leaving a void of emission in its *** Doppler velocity wings are seen to consist of two components,the upper velocity end of the global wind,reaching above±12 km s^(-1),and an effective line broadening,confined within 200 mas from the center of the star,reaching above±20 km s^(-1) and interpreted as caused by the pattern of shock waves resulting from the interaction between stellar pulsation and convective cell partition.

this paper describes the key role played by superalloys in aerospace propulsion. turbopump blades in liquid rocket engines operating under severe thermal and environmental conditions require the development of specific materials.A new superalloy,tHYMONEL 8, developed by ONERA in collaboration with SEP is shown to possess a set of properties required for advanced rocket engines. For future civil aircraft engines, the development of compressor and turbine disk materials operating at still higher temperatures requires a greater contrul of the grain size,which has to be increased for improved creep resistance and higher damage tolerance. Work carried out at ONERA emphasizes the importance of high temperature deformation conditions, especially the strain rate, for obtaining a uniform grain growth.

Despite the great efforts dedicated to metallic glasses （MGs）, their structure still remains a mystery to be understood. With comparison to the existing mJciomechanical models, such as the free-volume and shear transformation zone （StZ） models, we first discuss in this article our recently proposed ＇core-shell＇ model, which contains a solid-like matrix and liquid-like inclusions. this serves as the theoretical basis to understand the structural heterogeneity in MGs in our analytical framework. After that, a scanning ultrafast nanoindentation technique is used to map out the structure heterogeneity in a Zr-based bulk metallic glass （bMG）. With these ongoing research efforts, we hope that more research work could be stimulated in the pursuit of the structure-property relation in MGs.

Increasing temperatures and variability of precipitation events due to climate change will lead in the future to higher irrigation demands in ***,the use of secondary treated wasterwater(tWW)could have consequences for the receiving soil environment and its resident microbial *** objective of this study was to characterize the importance of soil properties and habitats to the response of soil bacteria and archaea to irrigation with *** agricultural soils with contrasting textures(loamy sand or silt loam)and,for each,three variants differing in soil organic carbon and nitrogen,as generated by long-term fertilization,were *** each of these six soils,prokaryotic communities from two habitats,i.e.,root-free bulk soil and the rhizosphere of developing cucumber plants in the greenhouse,were *** were analyzed by the quantity and diversity of their polymerase chain reaction(PCR)-amplified 16S rRNA *** account for tWW-associated nutrient effects,potable water(PW)served as a *** sequence analysis showed that prokaryotic communities mainly consisted of bacteria(99.8%).Upon irrigation,regardless of the water quality,prokaryotic diversity declined,p H increased,and no bacterial growth was detected in bulk *** contrast,the growth of cucumbers was stimulated by tWW,indicating that plants were the main ***,strong responses were seen in the rhizosphere,suggesting an indirect effect of tWW by altered *** main bacterial responders to tWW were Proteobacteria,bacteroidetes,Actinobacteria,and *** in bacterial communities due to tWW were less pronounced in all variants of the silt loam,indicating the importance of clay and soil organic carbon for buffering effects of tWW on soil bacterial ***,soil organic carbon and soil texture are important parameters that need to be considered when applying tWW in agriculture.

In this contribution, an efficient and simple two-step hybrid electrochemical-thermal route was developed for the synthesis of cubic shaped Zn_2SnO_4 (ZtO) nanoparticles using aqueous sodium bicarbonate(NaHCO_3) and sodium stannate(Na_2SnO_3) electrolyte. the sacrificial Zn was used as anode and cathode in an undivided cell under galvanostatic mode at room temperature. the bath concentration and current density were respectively varied from 30 to 120 mmol and 0.05 to 1.5 A/dm^2. the electrochemically generated precursor was calcined for an hour at different range of temperature from 60 to 600. the crystallite sizes in the range of 24-53 nm were calculated based on Debye-Scherrer equation. Scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscopy results reveal that all the particles have cubic morphology with diameter of40-50 nm. the as-prepared ZtO samples showed higher catalytic activity towards the degradation of methylene blue(Mb) dye, and 90% degradation was found for the sample calcined at 600, which is greater than that of commercial tiO_2-P25 photocatalysts. the photodegradation efficiency of ZtO samples was found to be a function of exposure time and the dye solution p H value. these results indicate that the ZtO nanoparticles may be employed to remove dyes from wastewater.

Plasma immersion ion implantation (PIII) is an excellent technique for the surf see modification of complex-shaped components. Owing to pulsed operation mode of the high voltage and large slew rate, the capacitance on the high-voltage coaxial cable can be detrimental to the process and cannot be ignored. In fact, a significant portion of the rise-time/fall-time of the implantation voltage pulse and big initial current can be attributed to the coaxial cable.
