Extracting impervious surfaces from multi-source satellite imagery based on unified conceptual model by decision tree algorithm

Extraction of impervious surfaces is one of the necessary processes in urban change *** paper derived a unified conceptual model (UCM) from the vegetation-impervious surface-soil (VIS) model to make the extraction more effective and *** uses the decision tree algorithm with indices of spectrum and texture,*** this model,we found both dependent and independent indices for multi-source satellite imagery according to their similarity and *** purpose of the indices is to remove the other land-use and land-cover types (e.g.,vegetation and soil) from the imagery,and delineate the impervious surfaces as the *** has the same steps conducted by decision tree *** Landsat-5 TM image (30 m) and the Satellite Probatoire d’Observation de la Terre (SPOT-4. image (20 m) from Chaoyang District (beijing) in 2007 were used in this *** results show that the overall accuracy in Landsat-5 TM image is 88%,while 86.75% in SPOT-4.*** is an appropriate method to meet the demand of urban change detection.

In this paper, a new ergodic property analysis model of hydrological process is proposed based on fuzzy-rough c-means clustering (FRCM), autocorrelogram, and fuzzy least absolute regression (FLAR). A precipitation time series (1951―2004. from Shanghai Hydrology Station is then analyzed with the model. The results show that the precipitation time series of April, May, June, and September has er-godic property. We conclude that in the long run, the precipitation of April, May, June, and September will not keep decreasing; it will converge to its mean value in some period.

Leaf area index (LAI) is an important parameter in monitoring crop growth. One of the methods for retrieving LAI from remotely sensed observations is through inversion of canopy reflectance models. Many model inversion methods fail to account for variable LAI values at different crop growth stages. In this research, we use the crop growth model to describe the LAI changes with crop growth, and consider a priori LAI values at different crop growth stages as constraint information. The key approach of this research is to assimilate multiple canopy reflectance values observed at different growth stages and a priori LAI values into a coupled crop growth and radiative transfer model sequentially using a variational data assimilation algorithm. Adjoint method is used to minimize the cost function. Any other information source can be easily incorporated into the inversion cost function. The validation results show that the time series of MODIS canopy reflectance can greatly reduce the uncertainty of the inverted LAI values. Compared with MODIS LAI product at Changping and Shunyi Counties of beijing, this method has significantly improved the estimated LAI temporal profile.

Let BH,K = {BH,K(t), t ∈ R+} be a bifractional Brownian motion in Rd. This process is a selfsimilar Gaussian process depending on two parameters H and K and it constitutes a natural generalization of fractional Brownian motion (which is obtained for K = 1). The exact Hausdorff measures of the image, graph and the level set of BH,K are investigated. The results extend the corresponding results proved by Talagrand and Xiao for fractional Brownian motion.
