The most remarkable effect in spinel ferrites is the strong dependence of properties on the state of structural disorder and,in particular,on the cation *** structural characterization of a Co-Zn ferrite nanoparticle sample was reported which prepared by wet chemical co-precipitation *** samples were sintered at three different temperatures viz.650℃,850℃ and 1050℃ for 12 *** structural details like:lattice constant and distribution of cations in the tetrahedral and octahedral interstitial voids have been deduced through X-ray diffraction (XRD) data *** constant was found to increase with the increase in Zn2+ ions and sintering *** intensity ratios of (220),(400),(440) planes were considered,as these reflections are sensitive to cations on the A and B *** agreement of the theoretical intensity ratio with the intensity ratio observed from XRD pattern supports the occupancy of Zn2+ ions and Co2+ ions on the octahedral and tetrahedral sites,respectively.

Stability Indicating RP-HPLC Method for the Determination of Dronedarone Hydrochloride and Its Potential Process-Related Impurities in Bulk Drug and Pharmaceutical Dosage Form

Simple, sensitive and accurate stability indicating analytical method for dronedarone has been developed and validated using RP-HPLC technique. Developed method is used to evaluate the assay and related substances of dronedarone drug substance and tablets (Multaq?). The drug substance was subjected to the stress conditions such as hydrolysis (acid and base), oxidation, photolysis and thermal degradation as per International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) pre- scribed stress conditions to show the stability-indicating the nature of the method. Significant degradation was observed during acid and base hydrolysis, and peroxide degradation. The major degredants were identified by LC-MS, FTIR and 1H NMR spectral analysis. The chromatographic conditions were optimized using an impurity-spiked solution and the samples generated from forced degradation studies. In the developed HPLC method, the resolution between dronedar- one, process-related impurities, (namely Imp-1, Imp-2, Imp-3, Imp-4, Imp-5, Imp-6, Imp-7, Imp-8, Imp-9, Imp-10 and Imp-11) and degradation products were found to be greater than 1.5. The eleven potential process related impurities were separated on an Ascentis? Express C18 column (4.6 × 10 cm i.d., particle size 2.7 μm) at a flow rate of 1.2 ***-1. The LC method employed a linear gradient elution and the detection wavelength at 220 nm. The chroma- tographic behavior of all the impurities was examined under variable compositions of different solvents, temperatures and pH values.

A new, specific, rapid and stability indicating reversed phase liquid chro-matographic (RP-LC) method for the determination of process related and degradation related impurities of Apremilast has been developed and validated. The degradation study performed in acid, base, oxidative, photolytic, and thermal stressed conditions. Eight process related impurities (Imp-1 to Imp-8) in test sample of Apremilast have been detected by developed RP-LC method. The good chromatographic resolution between the peaks of process related impurities, degradation impurities and Apremilast has been achieved on a Synergi Max-RP 80 A (150 × 4.6 mm ID), 4 μ column. The process and degradation related impurities were characterized by mass spectrometry, 1H NMR and FT-IR spectral data. The method was validated as per ICH guideline and found to be specific, rapid, and stability indicating. The proposed RP-PLC method was successfully applied to the analysis of drug substance samples of Apremilast.

A rapid, specific, sensitive, and precise reverse-phase HPLC method for the quantitative determination of process related and degradation impurities of Apixaban, an anticoagulant drug is described. The developed RP-HPLC method was successfully applied to the analysis of both Apixaban drug substance and drug product. The chromatographic separation was achieved on a Sigma-Aldrich’s Ascentis Express®C18 (4.6 mm × 100 mm, 2.7 μ) HPLC column with a runtime of 40 min. Mobile phase-A and mobile phase-B were phosphate buffer and acetonitrile respectively. The column oven temperature was set at 35°C and photodiode array detector was set at 225 nm. Nine process related impurities (Imp-1 to Imp-9) have been detected in test sample of Apixaban by using newly developed RP-HPLC method. Forced degradation study was carried out under acidic, alkaline, oxidative, photolytic and thermal conditions to demonstrate the stability-indicating nature of the developed RP-HPLC method. The developed method was validated as per ICH guideline and found to be specific, precise, sensitive and robust.

A rapid, specific, sensitive, and precise reverse-phase UPLC method developed for the quantitative determination of an atypical antipsychotic drug Iloperidone and its eight potential impurities in drug substances and drug products is described in this report. Chromatographic separation was achieved on a Waters Acquity UPLC®HSS C18 (2.1 mm × 100 mm, 1.8 micron) column thermostated at 35°C with a short runtime of 10 min. Quantification is achieved with photodiode array detection at 225 nm over the concentration range of 0.03 - 0.15 μg/mL. Forced degradation study was carried out under acidic, alkaline, oxidative, photolytic and thermal conditions to demonstrate the stability-indicating capability of the developed UPLC method. Comparison of system performance with conventional high-performance liquid chromatography is made with respect to analysis time, efficiency, and sensitivity. The method is validated according to the ICH guidelines and is applied successfully for the determination of Iloperidone in tablets.

AIM: To investigate whether fetal kidney stem cells(f KSC) ameliorate cisplatin induced acute renal failure(ARF) in rats and promote renal ***: The f KSC were isolated from rat fetuses of gestation day 16 and expanded in vitro up to 3rd passage. They were characterized for the expression of mesenchymal and renal progenitor markers by flow cytometry and immunocytochemistry, respectively. The in vitro differentiation of f KSC towards epithelial lineage was evaluated by the treatment with specific induction medium and their angiogenic potential by matrigel induced tube formation assay. To study the effect of f KSC in ARF, f KSC labeled with PKH26 were infused in rats with cisplatin induced ARF and, the blood and renal tissues of the rats were collected at different time points. Blood biochemical parameters were studied to evaluate renal function. Renal tissues were evaluated for renal architecture, renal cell proliferation and angiogenesis by immunohistochemistry, renal cell apoptosis by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase nickend labeling assay and early expression of angiogenic molecules viz. vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), hypoxia-inducible factor(HIF)-1α and endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eN OS) by western ***: The fK SC expressed mesenchymal markers viz. CD29, CD44, CD73, CD90 and CD105 as well asrenal progenitor markers viz. Wt1, Pax2 and Six2. They exhibited a potential to form CD31 and Von Willebrand factor expressing capillary-like structures and could be differentiated into cytokeratin(CK)18 and CK19 positive epithelial cells. Administration of fK SC in rats with ARF as compared to administration of saline alone, resulted in a significant improvement in renal function and histology on day 3(2.33 ± 0.33 vs 3.50 ± 0.34, P < 0.05) and on day 7(0.83 ± 0.16 vs 2.00 ± 0.25, P < 0.05).
