Changes in a cerebellar peduncle lesion in a patient with Dandy-Walker malformation A diffusion tensor imaging study

We report a patient with severe ataxia due to Dandy-Walker malformation, who showed functional recovery over 10 months corresponding to a change in a cerebellar peduncle lesion. A 20-month-old female patient who was diagnosed with Dandy-Walker syndrome and six age- and sex-matched healthy control subjects were enrolled. The superior cerebellar peduncle, the middle cerebellar peduncle, and the inferior cerebellar peduncle were evaluated using fractional anisotropy and the apparent diffusion coefficient. The patients＇ functional ambulation category was 0 at the initial visit, but improved to 2 at the follow-up evaluation, and Berg＇s balance scale score also improved from 0 to 7. Initial diffusion tensor tractography revealed that the inferior cerebellar peduncle was not detected, that the fractional anisotropy of the superior cerebellar peduncle and middle cerebellar peduncle decreased by two standard deviations below, and that the apparent diffusion coefficient increased by two standard deviations over normal control values. However, on follow-up diffusion tensor tractography, both inferior cerebellar peduncles could be detected, and the fractional anisotropy of superior cerebellar peduncle increased to within two standard deviations of normal controls. The functional improvement in this patient appeared to correspond to changes in these cerebellar peduncles. We believe that evaluating cerebellar peduncles using diffusion tensor imaging is useful in cases when a cerebellar peduncle lesion is suspected.

Corticospinal tract(CST), a major neural tract in the human brain for motor function, is involved mainly in the movement of the distal extremities(jang and Lee, 2019). Recovery of an injured CST is essential for good recovery of impaired motor function in stroke patients(jang and Lee, 2019). Peri-infarct reorganization of an injured CST is an important mechanism underlying recovery of motor function in stroke patients(jang, 2007). In this study, we reported on a patient with cerebral infarction who showed recovery of an injured CST by periinfarct reorganization using diffusion tensor tractography(DTT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation(TMS).

Stainless steels such as STS 304,316 and 630 are frequently used as shaft materials in small fiber reinforced polymer(FRP) fishing *** the shaft material is exposed to a severely corrosive environment such as seawater,it should be protected using appropriate *** impressed current cathodic protection was used to inhibit corrosion in shaft *** anodic polarization,passivity was remarkably more evident in STS 316 stainless steel than in STS 304 and STS *** pitting potentials of STS 304,316,and 630 stainless steels were 0.30,0.323,and 0.260 V,*** concentration polarization due to oxygen reduction and activation polarization due to hydrogen generation were evident in the cathodic polarization trends of all three stainless *** 316 had the lowest current densities in all potential ranges,and STS 630 had the *** analysis showed that STS 316 was the most noble in the *** addition,the corrosion current density was the lowest for STS 316.

ZnO thin films were grown on Si （100） substrates by pulsed laser deposition using a ZnO *** substrate temperature was varied in the range of room temperature to 800 ℃,and the oxygen partial pressure of 0.1333 Pa （1 m Torr） to 1333 Pa （10 Torr）.The properties of the resulting films were investigated by photoluminescence （PL）,grazing incidence X-ray diffraction （GIXRD）,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）,and field emission scanning electron microscopy （FESEM）.Based on the ultraviolet （UV,～380 nm） to visible emission ratio in the PL spectrum,the optimum growth conditions were determined to be 600 ℃ and 133.3 Pa （1 Torr）,*** oxygen 1s peak in the XPS spectrum was decomposed into two *** peak at lower binding energy increased in intensity with the oxygen partial pressure from 0.1333 Pa （1 m Torr） to 133.3 Pa （1 Torr） while the other peak *** GIXRD curve at the optimum condition showed strong two peaks （002） and （103）.A strong correlation between the （103） peak intensity and the UV emission intensity was found.

Among the environmentally friendly marine energies,tidal current power plants require low cost because they do not need to construct a large *** power is particularly reliable energy source because the power generation capacity is predictable regardless of weather or *** materials or stainless steel have been used as materials of blades for current power ***,their strength and welding performance generated many problems in field *** alloys with excellent cavitation resistance and corrosion resistance were applied as blade materials to improve the durability of copper *** were coated with WC-27NiCr and WC-10Co4Cr using the high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) *** metal spray coating technology has the advantage in terms of the selection of materials for cost effectiveness and environmental effects of corrosion because the properties of the coat layer can be controlled *** with WC-27NiCr and WC-10Co4Cr by HVOF,WC-27NiCr shows better corrosion resistance *** reason for this seems to be that corrosion resistance improves and a stable passive film forms due to the effects of Ni and Cr.

Large-area polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)films with variably sized moth-eye structures were fabricated to improve the efficiency of perovskite solar *** approach that incorporated photolithography,bilayer PDMS deposition and replication was used in the fabrication *** simply attaching the moth-eye PDMS films to the transparent substrates of perovskite solar cells,the optical properties of the devices could be tuned by changing the size of the moth-eye *** device with 300-nm moth-eye PDMS films greatly enhanced power conversion efficiency of ~21 % due to the antireflective effect of the moth-eye ***,beautiful coloration was observed on the 1000-nm moth-eye PDMS films through optical interference caused by the diffraction grating *** results imply that moth-eye PDMS films can greatly enhance the efficiency of perovskite solar cells and building-integrated photovoltaics.

Taking the minimum chip thickness effect,cutter deflection,and spindle run-out into account,a micro milling force model and a method to determine the optimal micro milling parameters were *** micro milling force model was derived as a function of the cutting coefficients and the instantaneous projected cutting area that was determined based on the machining parameters and the rotation trajectory of the cutter *** an allowable micro cutter deflection is defined,the maximum allowable cutting force can be *** optimal machining parameters can then be computed based on the cutting force model for better machining efficiency and *** verify the proposed cutting force model and the method to determine the optimal cutting parameters,micro-milling experiments were conducted,and the results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the model and method.
