Chimeric plants composed of green and albino tissues have great ornamental *** unveil the functional genes responsible for albino phenotypes in chimeric plants,we inspected the complete plastid genomes(plastomes)in green and albino leaf tissues from 23 ornamental chimeric plants belonging to 20 species,including monocots,dicots,and *** nine chimeric plants,plastomes were identical between green and albino ***,another 14 chimeric plants were heteroplasmic,showing a mutation between green and albino *** identified 14 different point mutations in eight functional plastid genes related to plastid-encoded RNA polymerase(rpo)or photosystems which caused albinism in the chimeric *** them,12 were deleterious mutations in the target genes,in which early termination appeared due to small deletion-mediated frameshift or single nucleotide *** was single nucleotide substitution in an intron of the ycf3 and the other was a missense mutation in coding region of the rpoC2 *** inspected chlorophyll structure,protein functional model of the rpoC2,and expression levels of the related genes in green and albino tissues of Reynoutria japonica.A single amino acid change,histidine-to-proline substitution,in the rpoC2 protein may destabilize the peripheral helix of plastid-encoded RNA polymerase,impairing the biosynthesis of the photosynthesis system in the albino tissue of *** chimera plant.

The ex-situ incorporation of the secondary SiC reinforcement,along with the in-situ incorporation of the tertiary and quaternary Mg_(3)N_(2) and Si_(3)N_(4) phases,in the primary matrix of Mg_(2)Si is employed in order to provide ultimate wear resistance based on the laser-irradiation-induced inclusion of N_(2) gas during laser powder bed *** is substantialized based on both the thermal diffusion-and chemical reactionbased metallurgy of the Mg_(2)Si–SiC/nitride hybrid *** study also proposes a functional platform for systematically modulating a functionally graded structure and modeling build-direction-dependent architectonics during additive *** strategy enables the development of a compositional gradient from the center to the edge of each melt pool of the Mg_(2)Si–SiC/nitride hybrid ***,the coefficient of friction of the hybrid composite exhibits a 309.3%decrease to–1.67 compared to–0.54 for the conventional nonreinforced Mg_(2)Si structure,while the tensile strength exhibits a 171.3%increase to 831.5 MPa compared to 485.3 MPa for the conventional *** outstanding mechanical behavior is due to the(1)the complementary and synergistic reinforcement effects of the SiC and nitride compounds,each of which possesses an intrinsically high hardness,and(2)the strong adhesion of these compounds to the Mg_(2)Si matrix despite their small sizes and low concentrations.

A flexible electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding film was innovatively fabricated using both low melting temperature solder arrays and amorphous soft magnet particulates consolidated on a polyethylene terephthalate(PET)***,the IneSneBi solder arrays presented a low melting point of 99.4C,which enabled attachment to the heat-sensitive plastic substrate without any thermal damage,and a low electrical resistivity of 14.1 mU cm,making them very effective at interrupting EM ***,the solder arrays with a high thermal conductivity of 61.2 W/(m$K)at 298.15 K were also useful as a thermal conductor for a heat ***,the solder arrays provide efficient electrical and thermal channels for electron transport induced by abruptly or consistently created EM waves due to suddenly turning on and the long term operation of electronics,***,the Fe-based magnetic particulates were added and resulted in effective saturation magnetization of 161.1 emu/g,remanence of 2.9 emu/g,and coercivity of 12.5 G,thus were able to disturb the EM pathway because of their soft magnetic ***,the hybrid EMI shielding film with exceptionally high electrical and thermal conductivity and superior soft magnetic properties provided remarkable shielding effectiveness of 102.5 dB at 10.2 GHz.

Irisin is a myokine that is generated by cleavage of the membrane protein fibronectin type Ⅲ domain-containing protein 5(FNDC5) in response to physical exercise. Studies reveal that irisin/FNDC5 has neuroprotective functions against Alzheimer's disease, the most common form of dementia in the elderly, by improving cognitive function and reducing amyloid-β and tau pathologies as well as neuroinflammation in cell culture or animal models of Alzheimer's disease. Although current and ongoing studies on irisin/FNDC5 show promising results, further mechanistic studies are required to clarify its potential as a meaningful therapeutic target for alleviating Alzheimer's disease. We recently found that irisin treatment reduces amyloid-β pathology by increasing the activity/levels of amyloid-β-degrading enzyme neprilysin secreted from astrocytes. Herein, we present an overview of irisin/FNDC5's protective roles and mechanisms against Alzheimer's disease.

A transparent energy storage device is an essential component for transparent *** increasing demand for high-power devices stimulates the development of transparent supercapacitors with high power density.A transparent electrode for such supercapacitors can be assembled via the electrophoretic deposition of an active material powder with a binder onto a transparent *** properties of the binder critically influence the electrochemical behavior and performance of the resulting *** cellulose(EC)is known as an eco-friendly,transparent,flexible,and inexpensive ***,we fabricated an electrode film with EC binder via electrophoretic deposition on an indium tin oxide(ITO)substrate instead of using the conventional polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)*** assembled electrodes with EC and PTFE were compared to investigate the feasibility of EC as a binder from different perspectives,including homogeneity,wettability,electrochemical behavior,and mechanical *** EC enabled the formation of a homogeneous film composed of smaller particles and with a higher specific capacitance compared with films prepared with *** annealing improved the adhesion strength of the EC because of its glass transition;however,its hydrophobic nature limited utilization of the active material for charge *** electrochemical activation improved the wettability of the electrode,resulting in an increased capacitance of 60 F g^(-1).Furthermore,even with the lower wettability of EC compared with that of PTFE,better rate performance was possible with the EC *** increased mechanical stability after the annealing process ensured an excellent cycle life of 95%capacitance retention for 15,000 cycles.

Cobalt hexacyanoferrate (CoHCF) is a potential cathode for aqueous Na-ion batteries due to its high theoretical specific capacity (170 m Ah g^(-1));however,its lower rate capability and cyclability limit its *** distortion at a weak N-coordinated crystal field during cycling disintegrates Co,yielding an irreversible *** Zn amounts ranging 0–1 were added to the Co site to suppress the structural irreversibility of CoHCF,yielding Co_(1-x)Zn_(x)HCF powder;this Zn (x≤0.09) addition reduced the powder’s dimension because the lower four coordination of Zn–N,not the six coordination of Co–N,limits the powder ***,a small lattice parameter and interaxial angle (~90°) are obtained,implying that a narrower Co_(1-x)Zn_(x)HCF inner structure is formed to accommodate Na ***,the electronic conductivity of Co_(1-x)Zn_(x)HCF gradually increased within 0–0.09 range.A smaller particle size with a high surface area leads to a near-surface-limited redox process,similar to a capacitive *** the surface-limited reaction and electronic conductivity enhances the reversibility due to the smaller charge transfer resistance at the electrode/electrolyte interface caused by Zn *** redox-active Co with non-active Zn amount of 0.07 (Co_(1-x)Zn_(x)HCF) slightly reduces the specific capacity from 127 to 119 mAh g^(-1)at 0.1 A g^(-1)due to the shrunken Co charging *** performance is enhanced by compromising the capacity and reduced distortion,resulting in 81%retention at a 20-times-faster charging ***,the Co_(1-x)Zn_(x)HCF sample exhibited the good stability while preserving 74%of the initial capacity at 0.5 A g^(-1)after 200 cycles.

The purpose of this study was to classify current forest cover types,and to investigate stand development patterns for natural forests in six areas in northern Baekdudaegan,South ***-eight independent forest communities were aggregated into eight forest cover types by species composition in the overstory of each forest *** forest cover types were of mixed mesophytic,‘‘others’ ’ deciduous,Quercus mongolica dominant,*** pure,Pinus densiflora–***,***,Betula ermanii,and ***–*** ecological information was organized by importance value and species diversity for each forest *** on the correlation between species diversity index and the abundance of *** plus *** for corresponding forest cover types,we compared the developmental process and approximate successional pathway between each cover *** *** forest cover type changes into the ***–*** cover type,followed by the *** dominant cover type through continuous invasion of the oak ***,the *** pure cover type would spread toward the *** dominant cover type with a mixture of various deciduous tree *** *** dominant cover type progresses through the other deciduous cover types to the mixed mesophytic cover type with diversified composition and *** the mid to lower slopes,with loamy soils and good moisture conditions,various deciduous forest types should progress,by ecological succession,toward the mixed mesophytic cover type without any further disturbance.

Transient elastography (TE) is a new non-invasive tool for assessing liver stiffness, which is correlated with the histologic stage of liver fibrosis. Many studies have reported a good accuracy of TE in predicting signif icant fibrosis and an optimal accuracy in predicting cirrhosis. Furthermore, the potential role of TE in screening the general population has also been proven. TE thus helps physicians to decide treatment strategies, predict prog-nosis, and monitor disease progression in patients with chronic liver disease and to screen the general popula-tion to identify high risk patients with potential liver disease. However, most data on the clinical roles of TE have been gathered in European patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC), because TE was first developed in France. Accordingly, much data on the usefulness of TE in patients with CHC has accumulated. Recently, however, vigorous efforts have been made to apply TEto patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB), and TE has also proved to have acceptable accuracy in diagnosing liver fibrosis and cirrhosis in these patients. Thus, we focused on TE in the Asian population with CHB in comparison with the European population with CHC and found that the diagnostic performance and cutoff values were different between the 2 populations possibly as a result of several different confounders between Asian and European populations (the etiology of chronic liver disease, histologic features, major fluctuation in alanine aminotransferase levels, and the prevalence of high body mass index and metabolic syndrome). Therefore, further studies tailored to the Asian population with CHB should be performed before the widespread application of TE in Asian populations with CHB.

Conversion of twice-daily to once-daily tacrolimus is safe in stable adult living donor liver transplant recipients

Once-daily extended-release tacrolimus （Tac-OD） has been introduced as a useful therapeutic option to increase patient adherence to immunosuppressive therapy. This study aimed to evaluate the safety, efficacy and immunosuppressant adherence of conversion from twice-daily tacrolimus （Tac-BID） to Tac-OD in stable adult living donor liver transplant （LDLT） recipients in a single institution. METHODS： Between February and May 2013, Tac-BID was converted to Tac-OD in recipients followed up for at least 12 months after transplantation and without previous rejection episodes. The switching policy was based on a dose ratio of 1：1 with dose adjustment target trough levels at 3-5 ng/mL. Tacro- limus trough levels, laboratory parameters, metabolic disor- ders, and adverse events were assessed. RESULTS： A total of 229 patients were enrolled in the study. The median age at conversion was 53 years （range 31-73）. The median transplant duration was 35.3 months （range 12.0-95.4）. During a median follow-up of 13.5 months after conversion, 9 patients returned to Tac-BID because of adverse events. No acute rejection episodes were observed. Of 214 patients still on Tac-OD at 12 months, 12 （5.6%） received a reduced dose and 95 （44.4%） required an increased dose over baseline. Overall adherence was 82.2% at the end of follow-up. CONCLUSION： The conversion from Tac-BID to Tac-OD with similar target trough levels after conversion is safe and effec- tive for long-term stable LDLT patients.
