The Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)model was used to assess the impacts of different land use scenarios on hydrological processes in the Fuhe watershed in poyang Lake Basin,East China.A total of 12 model parameters were calibrated with observed monthly runoff data for 1982-1988 and validated for 1991-1998 for baseline *** baseline test results of R2 and Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency(NSE)values ranged between 0.88 and 0.94 across the calibration and validation periods,indicating that SWAT accurately replicated the Fuhe watershed *** different land use scenarios were then simulated with the model,focusing on the impacts of land use change on the hydrology of the *** results of hypothetical scenario simulations revealed that surface runoff declined while groundwater recharge and evapotranspiration(ET)increased,as forest land,agriculture land and/or grassland areas increased,as well as when paddy field and urban areas *** results further showed that forest land has a higher capacity to conserve the water as compared to pasture *** results of the real scenario simulations revealed that urbanization is the strongest contributor to changes in surface runoff,water yield,and *** can be considered as a potential major environmental stressor controlling hydrological components.

Hatching asynchrony in birds is considered an adaptation to facilitate brood reduction because under conditions of food scarcity, the smallest nestling usually dies soon after hatching, thereby minimizing parental effort. However, in species with extreme hatching asynchrony, the last hatchlings paradoxically experience a very low probability of survival and death can take so long that it can hardly be considered an adaptation. Here, we propose and experimentally tested a new adaptive hypothesis explaining the brood reduction paradox, namely the“Male Manipulation Hypothesis”. Our hypothesis suggests that by inducing asynchronous hatching,females increase the feeding requirements of the brood, which will induce males to increase provisioning effort. In addition, females may extend the period of male manipulation by feeding the smallest nestling just enough to sustain life. Our study showed that male common blackbirds(Turdus merula) increased their effort(i.e., number of food items per hour) in experimental asynchronous broods compared to synchronous broods, while females reduced their contribution, as predicted by the hypothesis.

As for unmanned aircraft, the knowledge of the aircraft performance is directly related with the navigation, guidance, and control system programming. Therefore, the measured data in each phase of the flight must be sufficiently precise to obtain a good characterization of *** article proposes new methods of sending information to ground, which make it possible to know the aircraft behavior accurately, and for this purpose, four contributions have been made for ALO(Avión Ligero de Observación, Spanish acronym for Light Observation Aircraft). Currently, the characterization is based on data obtained at ten samples per second, insufficient to acquire detailed knowledge of what happened during the whole flight of an aircraft. As a result of these contributions, many more samples per second of accelerations and angular velocities are obtained at the most critical moments of the flight, such as takeoff or landing. Among the improvements included are data compression techniques, providing references to locate the measured data in time and identifying labels of each parameter.

BACKGROUND primary hydatid disease in the colon is an extremely rare finding. We performed a systematic review of cases of hydatidosis of the colon published to date. AIM To systematic review the published papers about hydatidosis of the colon. METHODS Following pRISMA guidelines, we performed an unlimited search for articles on CH in the MEDLINE (pubMed), EMBASE, Cochrane, Latindex and Scielo databases, published in English, Spanish, French, German or Italian between January 1, 1960 and December 15, 2018. The search items were:(Colon) AND [(hydatidosis) OR (hydatid disease) OR (echinococcosis)]. RESULTS Nine case reports were found [five men, four women, median age 64.55 years (range: 21-81)]. The most frequent clinical manifestation was abdominal pain (8/9)(88.9%). In almost all cases several image studies were carried out, but abdominal computed tomography was the most used (66.7%). Five resections of the colon (62.5%) and three sutures of the fistula between cyst and colon (37.5%) were performed. Four patients did not present post-operative complications, but one died. postoperative period was recorded for a mean period of 35 months. No recurrences were recorded. CONCLUSION The most frequent symptom was abdominal pain (evidence level 4). Computed tomography was the most frequently used diagnostic imaging technique (evidence level 4). Colectomy was the most appropriate treatment (evidence level 5). All the diagnostic and therapeutic options for hydatid cysts located in colon have a low level of evidence.
