Valleytronic materials can provide new degrees of freedom to future electronic *** this work,the concepts of the ferrovalley metal(FVM)and valley gapless semiconductor(VGS)are proposed,which can be achieved in valleytronic bilayer systems by electric field *** valleytronic bilayer systems,the interaction between out-of-plane ferroelectricity and A-type antiferromagnetism can induce layer-polarized anomalous valley Hall(LP-AVH)*** K and−K valleys of FVM are both metallic,and electron and hole carriers simultaneously *** the extreme case,the FVM can become VGS by analogizing spin gapless semiconductor(SGS).Moreover,it is proposed that the valley splitting enhancement and valley polarization reversal can be achieved by electric field engineering in valleytronic bilayer *** the bilayer RuBr_(2)as an example,our proposal is confirmed by the first-principle *** FVM and VGS can be achieved in bilayer RuBr_(2)by applying electric *** appropriate electric field range,increasing electric field can enhance valley splitting,and the valley polarization can be reversed by flipping electric field *** effectively tune valley properties by electric field in bilayer systems,the parent monolayer should possess out-of-plane magnetization,and have large valley *** results shed light on the possible role of electric field in tuning valleytronic bilayer systems,and provide a way to design the ferrovalley-related material by electric field.

Formaldehyde is a common atmospheric pollutant produced in industrial production and daily ***,the traditional semiconductor formaldehyde gas sensor cannot work at room temperature,which limits its practical ***,developing high-performance gas sensors for rapidly and accurately detecting formaldehyde at room temperature is an important *** this study,ti_(3)C_(2)tx/SnO_(2)heterostructures were constructed,which could selectively detect formaldehyde at room temperature with a response value of 29.16%(10×10^(-6)).In addition,the sensor shows a remarkable theoretical detection limit of 5.09×10^(-9)and good longterm *** functional theory(DFt)simulations reveal that SnO_(2)nano spheres provide the majority of adsorption sites that strongly interact with ***,ti_(3)C_(2)t_(x)acting as a conductive layer facilitates the transfer of charge carriers so that they show a sensing response to formaldehyde at room ***,the formation of p-n heterostructures between SnO_(2)and ti_(3)C_(2)t_(x)boosts the Schottky barrier at the interface,which is the critical factor in enhancing the sensing properties by turning the Schottky barrier upon introducing formaldehyde *** perspective is expected to provide instructive guidance for utilizing MXene/metal oxide nanocomposites to improve the gas sensing performance at room temperature.

BACKGROUND Differences in the preoperative characteristics and weight loss outcomes after sleeve gastrectomy(SG)between patients with familial aggregation of obesity(FAO)and patients with sporadic obesity(SO)have not been *** to explore the impact of SG on weight loss and the alleviation of obesity-related comorbidities in individuals with *** A total of 193 patients with obesity who underwent SG were *** with FAO/SO were matched 1:1 by propensity score matching and were categorized into 4 groups based on the number of first-degree relatives with obesity(1 SO vs 1FAO,2SO vs 2FAO).the baseline characteristics,weight loss outcomes,prevalence of obesity-related comorbidities and incidence of major surgeryrelated complications were compared between *** We defined FAO as the presence of two or more first-degree relatives with *** with FAO did not initially show significant differences in baseline data,short-term postoperative weight loss,or obesity-related comorbidities when compared to patients with SO ***,distinctions between the two groups became evident at the two-year mark,with statistically significant differences in both percentage of total weight loss(P=0.006)and percentage of excess weight loss(Pthe FAO group exhibited weaker remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus(t2DM)(P=0.031),hyperlipidemia(P=0.012),and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)(P=0.003)as well as a lower incidence of acid reflux(P=0.038).CONCLUSION FAO patients is associated with decreased mid-to-long-term weight loss outcomes;the alleviation of t2DM,hyperlipidemia and NAFLD;and decreased incidence of acid reflux postoperatively.

Strengthening mechanism of t8-aged Al-Cu-Li alloy with increased pre-deformation

the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of a t8-aged Al-Cu-Li alloy with increased pre-deformation(0-15%) were investigated,revealing the microstructure-strength relationship and the intrinsic strengthening *** results show that increasing the pre-deformation levels remarkably improves the strength of the alloy but deteriorates its *** introduced by pre-deformation effectively suppress the formation of Guinier-Preston(GP) zones and provide more nucleation sites for t1 *** leads to more intensive and finer t1 precipitates in the samples with higher pre-deformation ***,the enhanced precipitation of t1 precipitates and inhibited formation of GP zones cause the decreases in number and sizes of θ′ *** quantitative descriptions of the strength contributions from different strengthening mechanisms reveal that strengthening contributions from t1 and θ′ precipitates decrease with increasing *** reduced diameters of t1 precipitates are primarily responsible for their weakened strengthening ***,the improved strength of the t8-aged Al-Cu-Li alloy is mainly attributed to the stronger strain hardening from the increased pre-deformation levels.

Paper Analytical Device for the Colourimetric Detection of Alkaline Phosphatase in Serum and Saliva

A paper analytical device (PAD) was developed for the colourimetric estimation of alkaline phosphatase (ALP). ALP catalyzes the hydrolysis of disodium phenyl phosphate (DSPP) to phenol, which then undergoes oxidative coupling with4-aminoantipyrine (4-AAP) producing a reddish brown-coloured quinone imine. the colourimetric reaction tested in solution has been translated onto a PAD for the point of care (PoC) testing of ALP. A uniform colour was obtained in 25 min with the introduction of ALP onto the reagent drop cast paper device. the images obtained by scanning the PAD were processed using ImageJ software. the colour intensity obtained by image processing was proportional to the concentration of ALP present in the sample. ALP in serum and saliva samples were tested using the PAD in the range of 0 to 528 U/L and0 to 187 U/L, respectively. the interference studies revealed that the PAD was selective to ALP in the presence of other biomolecules. the PAD exhibited a limit of detection (LOD) of 3.3 U/L and a sensitivity of 48.36 a.u/Log(U/L) for serum ALP and LOD of 1.69 U/L and a sensitivity of 28.5 a.u/Log (U/L) for salivary ALP. the PAD showed good agreement with the clinical methods for real samples.
