The process of sex determination(SD)and sex differentiation(Sd)with associated sex-specific behaviour in teleosts is brought about by genetic factors and environmental factors under the influence of chemical *** is initiated by inherited genes,which in turn influence Sd by the production of *** understand the plasticity of SD in fishes,the functional role of genes must be clearly *** early development,the dimorphic expression of male and female are mediated by the differentially sexualized *** mammals,SD region(SDR)on the Y chromosome(SRY)can be considered as male-specific copy of SOX3 and in the absence of SRY in teleosts suggests SD might be regulated by alternate ***(doublesex/mab)-related genes,AMH(anti-mullerian hormone),TGF-b(transforming growth factor beta),GSDF(gonadal soma derived growth factor)and other genes(around 18)located in chromosomes of teleosts are found to be responsible for *** SD gene,sdY(sexually dimorphic on the Y chromosome)has been detected in more than 15 salmonid species,and in medaka and tilapia SD system is governed by heterogametic *** mullet,Mugil cephalus Dor et *** 27 SDR genes and suggested to be potential candidate genes for *** whole-genome sequencing data were produced from mullet and assembled into a draft genome sequence in which>30 loci are potentially associated with *** analysis is required to know the involvement of each sex-biased gene for its functional influence on *** attempted to know the sex-linkage group in tilapia and found that 2 linkage group ***1 and LG22 show SD loci,whereas in mullet it was documented that LG8 is the SD *** study with all male population(YY)or knockout of male marker gene,might give conclusive understanding on SD in *** review highlights the absence of genomic understanding of SD and SDR genes for futuristic direction of research.

Power Factor Estimation of Distributed Energy Resources Using Voltage Magnitude Measurements

This paper presents a new method for the estimation of the injection state and power factor of distributed energy resources (DERs) using voltage magnitude measurements only. A physics-based linear model is used to develop estimation heuristics for net injections of real and reactive power at a set of buses under study, allowing a distribution engineer to form a robust estimate for the operating state and the power factor of the DER at those buses. The method demonstrates and exploits a mathematical distinction between the voltage sensitivity signatures of real and reactive power injections for a fixed power system model. Case studies on various test feeders for a model of the distribution circuit and statistical analyses are presented to demonstrate the validity of the estimation method. The results of this paper can be used to improve the limited information about inverter parameters and operating state during renewable planning, which helps mitigate the uncertainty inherent in their integration.

Although geothermal energy has many clear advantages,including its sustainability and environmentally friendly nature,research into potential geothermal resources across the Longgang Block,Northeast China,has been *** we present the first analysis of the potential geothermal resources in this region that employs joint geological and non-seismic geophysical methods to identify target areas that may be economically *** acquire and analyze high-precision gravity,magnetic,and magnetotelluric sounding data,which are constrained using the petrophysical parameters of outcropping rocks across the Longgang Block,to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the region’s deep geological structures and their geothermal resources potential,with a focus on identifying faults,rock masses,and thermal storage *** find that Archean granitic gneiss and Mesozoic rock masses in the deeper section of the Longgang Block possess weak gravity anomalies and high *** also identify thermal storage structures near these deeper geological units based on their extremely low *** data are used to infer the dip and depth of known or hidden faults,to constrain the spatial distribution of intrusive rock masses,and to determine the spatial distribution of subsurface thermal storage *** potential of the target areas for geothermal resources exploitation is divided into three grades based on contact depths between faults and thermal storage structures,and the scale of their thermal storage *** results suggest that a joint non-seismic geophysical approach can be effective in locating and evaluating geothermal resources in complex geological settings.

The disability,mortality and costs due to ionizing radiation(IR)-induced osteoporotic bone fractures are sub-stantial and no effective therapy *** radiation increases cellular oxidative damage,causing an imbalance in bone turnover that is primarily driven via heightened activity of the bone-resorbing *** demonstrate that rats exposed to sublethal levels of IR develop fragile,osteoporotic *** reactive surface sites,cerium ions have the ability to easily undergo redox cycling:drastically adjusting their electronic con-figurations and versatile catalytic *** properties make cerium oxide nanomaterials *** show that an engineered artificial nanozyme composed of cerium oxide,and designed to possess a higher fraction of trivalent(Ce^(3+))surface sites,mitigates the IR-induced loss in bone area,bone architecture,and *** investigations also demonstrate that our nanozyme furnishes several mechanistic avenues of protection and selectively targets highly damaging reactive oxygen species,protecting the rats against IR-induced DNA damage,cellular senescence,and elevated osteoclastic activity in vitro and in ***,we reveal that our nanozyme is a previously unreported key regulator of osteoclast formation derived from macrophages while also directly targeting bone progenitor cells,favoring new bone formation despite its exposure to harmful levels of IR in *** findings open a new approach for the specific prevention of IR-induced bone loss using synthesis-mediated designer multifunctional nanomaterials.

The Trans-North China Orogen is a major Neoarchean Paleoproterozoic collisional orogenic belt above the North China Craton, formed due to prolonged and complex processes. Even though many NeoarcheanPaleoproterozoic magmatic and metamorphic activities have been reported, due to the Huozhou Complex’s small outcropping range, little attention has been paid to the origin of various igneous rocks of the Huozhou Complex in the center of the Trans-North China Orogen. The Huozhou Complex, located south of the Luè liang, Wutai, and Hengshan complexes, is an important window into the Early Precambrian structure and evolution of the North China Craton. Its magma and metamorphism are crucial to understanding the development of the structural evolution of the Trans-North China Orogen. The Huozhou metamorphic complex area exposes a range of Precambrian metamorphic rocks, among which the most extensively dispersed is felsic biotite plagioclase gneiss. In this study comprehensive geological field survey, micropetrology,chronology, geochemistry, and Hf isotope analysis were carried out for the Qinggangping and Anziping gneiss in the north of the Huozhou Complex. The results show that the magmatic zircon age of the Qinggangping gneiss is2196 ± 14 Ma, and its protolith is I-type granite, formed by partial melting of igneous rocks in the absence of weathering. Its source is mainly the juvenile crust from depleted mantle dating 2431–2719 Ma, with a small amount of mantle-derived material. The Anziping gneiss has a metamorphic zircon age of 1931 ± 13 Ma with an S-type granite protolith belonging to peraluminous *** Anziping gneiss is formed by recycling pre-existing crustal components at 2613–2848 Ma. A minor quantity of mantle-derived magma is also introduced to the crust simultaneously. The samples of Qinggangping gneiss and Anziping gneiss show the characteristics of obvious negative Nb, Ti, and P elements in the spider diagram of primitive mantle standardization. This implies

Symptomatic neuromas are an all-too-common complication following limb amputation or extremity trauma,leading to chronic and debilitating pain for *** resection of symptomatic neuromas has proven to be the superior method of intervention,but traditional methods of neuroma resection do not address the underlying pathophysiology leading to the formation of a future symptomatic neuroma and lead to high reoperation *** approaches employ the physiology of peripheral nerve injury to harness the regeneration of nerves to their *** review explores the underlying pathophysiology of neuroma formation and centralization of pain *** compares the traditional surgical approach for symptomatic neuroma resection and describes three novel surgical strategies that harness this pathophysiology of neuroma formation to their *** traditional resection of symptomatic neuromas is currently the standard of care for amputation patients,but new techniques including the regenerative peripheral nerve interface,targeted muscle reinnervation,and intraosseous transposition have shown promise in improving patient pain outcomes for postamputation pain and residual limb *** neuromas are a chronic and debilitating complication following amputation procedures and trauma,and the current standard of care does not address the underlying pathophysiology leading to the formation of the *** techniques are under development that may provide improved patient pain outcomes and a higher level of care for symptomatic neuroma resection.
