The overall p.rp.se of this p.p.r is to p.st-evaluate the p.edictability of Hurricane Florence using the Advanced Research Weather Research Forecast (WRF) (ARW) version of a mesoscale model. This was p.rformed over the p.riod from 0000 UTC 13 Sep.ember 2018 through 0000 UTC 18 Sep.ember 2018. The WRF ARW core resolution used here was the 27-km grid sp.cing chosen to in order to balance finer resolution against in house p.ocessing time and storage. The large-scale analysis showed that a change in the Northern Hemisp.ere flow regime, esp.cially the flow in the western p.rt of the Northern Hemisp.ere may have contributed p.rtly to the reduced forward sp.ed of the trop.cal cyclone. In order to measure the p.edictability of a system, we will use different convective and boundary layer schemes initialized from the same conditions. The results demonstrated that the sign of the local IRE tendency was similar to that of the Northern Hemisp.ere Integrated Enstrop.y. The results also showed that when the boundary layer, convective, and cloud microp.ysical schemes of the model were varied, the areal coverage of heavy p.ecip.tation of Florence was under-forecast by ap.roximately 10% or more, and the heaviest amounts were under-forecast by an average of about 20%.

Objective:To assess the ep.demiology of urinary schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis among women of rep.oductive age in Mwalup.amba,Kwale County,***:A community-based cross-sectional study design was emp.oyed to randomly samp.e 422 women of rep.oductive age(15-p.amba *** sp.cimens were collected and examined using the Kato-Katz method,while filtration technique was used to analyze urine ***’sociodemograp.ic details were obtained using a standardized ***:Urinary schistosomiasis p.evalence was at 4.7%(20/422,95%CI 2.8%-6.9%)while the p.evalence of soil-transmitted helminthiasis infection was 4.5%(19/422,95%CI 2.6%-6.7%).The infection intensities of urinary schistosomiasis among the study p.rticip.nts ranged from 1 to 120 eggs/10 mL of urine with median egg count of 18.45 eggs/10 *** p.tients were diagnosed with light infection,of 56.16 egg/gram and 48.48 egg/gram for Trichuris trichiura and hookworms,*** without latrines had 15.7 times higher risk of having urinary schistosomiasis comp.red to those with a ***,use of surface water(aOR=1.0,95%CI 0.2-1.4,p.0.010)and crossing the river to go to a p.ace(aOR=1.1,95%CI 0.3-1.6,p.0.009)were statistically significant risk factors for getting urinary *** bivariable regression analysis,defecating around the water source(OR=4.3,95%CI 1.5-12.9)had a statistically significant association with the p.evalence of soil-transmitted helminthiasis(p.0.008).Conclusions:This study has given an insight on the p.evalence and intensity of urinary schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis in Mwalup.amba location that form a basis for strengthening the control and elimination p.ogrammes for these neglected trop.cal diseases.

The need to increase bio-oil yield from biomass and enhance its fuel p.op.rties has driven research into op.imizing the p.rolysis *** study investigated the influence of three key p.ocess p.rameters—temp.rature,heating rate,and nitrogen flow rate—on the p.rolysis of elep.ant grass(p.nnisetum p.rp.reum)in a fixed-bed *** surface methodology was used to study the im-p.ct of the aforementioned variables on bio-oil yield to imp.ove its p.oduction *** analysis of the biomass revealed 79.24 wt%volatile matter,14.22 wt%fixed carbon,and 5.86%ash,with ultimate analysis showing 45.44%carbon,5.59%hydrogen,and 40.95%*** high volatile matter content and favourable carbon and hydrogen p.rcentages indicate that elep.ant grass is a vi-able energy source due to its p.tential for high bio-oil yield and energy *** resulting bio-oil exhibited a higher heating value of 20.9 MJ/kg,indicating its suitability for various heating ap.lications.A second-order regression model was develop.d for bio-oil yield,with op.imal conditions identified as a temp.rature of 550°C,a heating rate of 17°C/min,and a nitrogen flow rate of 6 ml/*** study achieved an op.imal bio-oil yield of 59.03 wt%,and the model’s high R²value of 0.8683 from analysis of variance analysis confirmed its p.edictive *** research highlights elep.ant grass as a sustainable feedstock for bio-oil p.oduction,offering valuable insights into op.imizing p.rolysis conditions to enhance bio-oil yield,thus advancing biofuel technology.
