Hessian fly(HF),Mayetiola destructor(Say)is an important pest of wheat in North Africa,North America,Southern Europe,Northern Kazakhstan,Northwestern China,and New *** can cause up to 30%yield losses and sometimes can result in complete crop failure if infestation coincides with young stage of the wheat *** to-date have shown the availability of genetic diversity in the wheat genetic resources(landraces,wild relatives,cultivars,etc.)for resistance to Hessian *** 37 resistance genes have been reported from these wheat genetic resources for resistance to Hessian fly,of which,some have been deployed singly or in combination in the breeding programs to develop high yielding varieties with resistance to *** of resistant varieties in different agro-ecologies with other integrated management measures plays key role for the control of *** paper summarizes the importance,life cycle,mechanisms of resistance,gene mining,and wheat breeding efforts for HF resistance.

The subcellular localization of samarium and europium, two rare-earths, increasingly used in both medical and industrial fields, has been studied in several organs such as liver and kidney but never in the mammary gland despite of its importance in the biology of lactation and nutrition domains. The intracellular behaviour of samarium and europium after their intra-peritoneal administration in the lactating mammary gland cells was investigated. The results showed the presence of very electron dense deposits in the glandular epithelial cell lysosomes. These particular lysosomes were never observed in the mammary cell lysosomes of control rats. These intralysosomal deposits were probably composed of insoluble samarium or europium phosphates by analogy with previous studies, the transmission electron microscopy, the ion mass microscopy and the electron probe microanalysis, and other techniques allowing the identification of the chemical structure of the intralysosomal deposits.

AIM: To evaluate the effect of resveratrol, alone and in combination with fenofibrate, on fructose-induced metabolic genes abnormalities in ***: Giving a fructose-enriched diet (FED) to rats for 12 wk was used as a model for inducing hepatic dyslipidemia and insulin resistance. Adult male albino rats (150-200 g) were divided into a control group and a FED group which was subdivided into 4 groups, a control FED, fenofibrate (FENO) (100 mg/kg), resveratrol (RES) (70 mg/kg) and combined treatment (FENO + RES) (half the doses). All treatments were given orally from the 9th week till the end of experimental period. Body weight, oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), liver index, glucose, insulin, insulin resistance (HOMA), serum and liver triglycerides (TGs), oxidative stress (liver MDA, GSH and SOD), serum AST, ALT, AST/ALT ratio and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) were measured. Additionally, hepatic gene expression of suppressor of cytokine signaling-3 (SOCS-3), sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c (SREBP-1c), fatty acid synthase (FAS), malonyl CoA decarboxylase (MCD), transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and adipose tissue genes expression of leptin and adiponectin were investigated. Liver sections were taken for histopathological examination and steatosis area were ***: Rats fed FED showed damaged liver, impairment of glucose tolerance, insulin resistance, oxidative stress and dyslipidemia. As for gene expression, there was a change in favor of dyslipidemia and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) development. All treatment regimens showed some benefit in reversing the described deviations. Fructose caused deterioration in hepatic gene expression of SOCS-3, SREBP-1c, FAS, MDA and TGF-β1 and in adipose tissue gene expression of leptin and adiponectin. Fructose showed also an increase in body weight, insulin resistance (OGTT, HOMA), serum and liver TGs, hepatic MDA, serum AST, AST/ALT rat

Objective:To evaluate the effect of hydroxysafflor yellow A(HSYA)on thioacetamide-induced liver ***:Thioacetamide was administered to rats intraperitoneally in doses of 200 mg/kg twice a week for 12 ***-intoxicated rats were given silymarin(50 mg/kg)or HSYA(5 mg/kg)orally every day for 8 *** enzymes,fibrosis markers,histological changes as well as immunohistochemistry of TNF-α,IL-6,p21,α-SMA,and caspase-3 were *** effect of HSYA on HSC-T6 activation/proliferation and apoptosis was also determined in ***:HSYA decreased liver enzymes,TNF-α,IL-6,and p21 expressions,hepatic PDGF-B,TIMP-1,TGF-β1,and hydroxyproline levels,as well as fibrosis score(S2 vs.S4)compared to the thioacetamide *** also downregulatedα-SMA while increasing caspase-3 ***,at 500μg/mL,HSYA had only a slightly suppressive effect on HSC proliferation,with a 9.5%***,it significantly reduced TGF-β1,inhibitedα-SMA expression,induced caspase-3 expression,and promoted cell ***:HSYA may be a potential therapeutic agent for delaying and reversing the progression of liver *** research on HSYA at higher doses and for a longer period is warranted.

Sulfated zirconia(SZ)and two promoted 1% Mn/SZ catalysts which have been prepared via sol gel(Mn/SZ-S)and impregnation(Mn/SZ-I)methods were *** morphology of the catalysts was characterized by XRD,BET,NH3-TPD,ICP,SEM and FT-IR *** conversion of methanol to dimethyl ether and hydrocarbons was carried out in the temperature range of 120−300℃.The Mn/SZ-S showed the highest activity due to the high surface area with suitable *** optimum condition of Mn/SZ-S catalyst was investigated at 200℃ and LHSV of 0.02 h^−1 in a time range from 30 to 210 *** was found that the total conversion decreased from 80.18% to 53.26% at 210 *** reusability of this catalyst was studied at the optimum condition up till four cycles for 1 *** characterization of the reused catalyst showed a significant change in the structure and surface acidity due to the blockage of the surface acid sited by carbonaceous materials.

Objective:To investigate the antifibrotic role of rosmarinic acid(RA),a natural polyphenolic compound,on HSCs activation/proliferation and apoptosis in vitro and in vivo. Methods:The impact of RA on stellate cell line(HSC-T6) proliferation,activation and apoptosis was assessed along with its safety on primary hepatocytes. In vivo,rats were divided into:(i) normal;(ii) thioacetamide(TAA)-intoxicated rats for 12 weeks;(iii) TAA+silymarin or(iv) TAA+RA. At the end of experiment,liver functions,oxidative stress,inflammatory and profibrogenic markers,tissue inhibitor metalloproteinases type-1(TIMP-1) and hydroxyproline(HP) levels were evaluated. Additionally,liver histopathology and immunohistochemical examinations of alpha-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA),caspase-3 and proliferation cellular nuclear antigen(PCNA) were determined. Results:RA exhibited anti-proliferative effects on cultured HSCs in a time and concentration dependent manner showing an IC50 of 276 μg/mL and 171 μg/mL for 24 h and 48 h,respectively,with morphological reversion of activated stellate cell morphology to quiescent form. It significantly improved ALT,AST,oxidative stress markers and reduced TIMP-1,HP levels,inflammatory markers and fibrosis score(S1 vs S4). Furthermore,reduction in α-SMA plus elevation in caspase-3 expressions of HSCs in vitro and in vivo associated with an inhibition in proliferation of damaged hepatocytes were recorded. Conclusions:RA impeded the progression of liver fibrosis through inhibition of HSCs activation/proliferation and induction of apoptosis with preservation of hepatic architecture.

The present study aims to evaluate hepatitis A virus (HAV) prevalence and faecal contamination indicators Escherichia coli (E. coli) in oysters from Oualidia lagoon (Moroccan Atlantic coast) and to study the correlation between the two parameters. The survey was carried out on 87 samples of oysters (Crassostrea gigas) collected monthly between November 2015 and February 2017 from three sites corresponding to different oyster farms in the lagoon. Sanitary status of bivalve molluscs was assessed by E. coli enumeration using ISO 16649-3. Detection of hepatitis A virus, was carried out by real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) according to ISO 15216-2 method. The prevalence of samples for which E. coli contamination exceeds the threshold of 230 E. coli/100g of flesh and intravalvular fluid (FIF)

We study mean-field type optimal stochastic control problem for systems governed by mean-field controlled forward-backward stochastic differential equations with jump processes,in which the coefficients depend on the marginal law of the state process through its expected *** control variable is allowed to enter both diffusion and jump ***,the cost functional is also of mean-field *** conditions for optimal control for these systems in the form of maximum principle are established by means of convex perturbation *** an application,time-inconsistent mean-variance portfolio selectionmixed with a recursive utility functional optimization problem is discussed to illustrate the theoretical results.
