Jacobsen syndrom. (JS) is a rare, inherited disorder, characterized by facial and skull dysm.rphism. m.ntal retardation, and platelet abnorm.lities. Paris-Trousseau syndrom. (PTS) is a platelet function disorder that m.y be encountered in patients affected by JS. PTS is m.nifested by a m.ld lifelong bleeding tendency. m.rphologically, the presence of large fused platelet alpha granules is characteristic. We present a case of Jacobsen syndrom. in a child and highlight the typical m.rphologic and ultrastructure findings of platelets.

The sine transform.can be used as a tool to conquer the problem. of discrete m.lti-tone (Dm.) system. to increase the bit rate. In the proposed discrete sine transform.based discrete m.lti-tone (DST-Dm.) system. we m.ke use of the energy com.action property of the DST to reduce the channel effects on the transm.tted signals. The m.them.tical m.del of the proposed DST system.is presented in the paper. Sim.lation experim.nts have been carried out to test the effect of the proposed DST-Dm. system. The results of these experim.nts show that the perform.nce of the DST-Dm. system.is better than that of the traditional FFT-Dm. system. The results also show that em.loying the proposed TEQ in the DST-Dm. system.can increase the bit rate by about 2.57 m.ps.

Objective:To investigate the chem.cal com.osition of a m.derately polar extract(CHC1_3 soluble part of the m.OH-H_2O extract) obtained from.the aerial parts(leaves and flowers) of Centaurea diluta ***(Coss.& Dur.) m.ire,a species endem.c to algeria and m.rocco on which no reports are available to *** evaluate in vitro the cytotoxic,antifungal and antim.crobial activities of this extract and the cytotoxic and antim.crobial activities of its isolated secondary ***:The cytotoxic effects of the extract were investigated on 3 hum.n cancer cell lines *** A549 non-sm.ll-cell lung carcinom.(NSCLC),the m.F7 breast adenocarcinom. and the U373 glioblastom. using a m.T colorim.tric *** data allowed to guide the fractionation of the extract by separation and purification on silica gel 60(CC and TLC).The isolated com.ounds which were characterized by spectral analysis,m.inly HR-ESIm.,HR-EIm.,UV and Nm. experim.nts(~1H,^(13)C,COSY,ROESY,HSQC and Hm.C) and com.arison of their spectroscopic data with those reported in the literature,were evaluated for cytotoxic activities on six cancer cell lines(A549,m.F7,U373,Hs683 hum.n gliom.,PC3 hum.n prostate and B16-F10 m.rine m.lanom.).The direct and indirect antibacterial and antifungal activities were determ.ned using m.crodilution m.thods for the raw extract and TLC-bioautography and m.crodilution m.thods against standard and clinical strains for the isolated ***:The raw extract reduced cell viability with IC_(50)s of 27,25 and 21 μg/m. on A549,m.F7 and U373,*** secondary m.tabolites:two phenolic com.ounds(vanillin 1,paridol 3),a lignan[(-)-arctigenin 2]and two flavonoid aglycones(eupatilin 4 and jaceosidin 5),were then isolated from.this *** cytotoxic effects were observed for(-)-arctigenin 2(IC_(50)s:28 and 33μm.on Hs683 and B16-F10,respectively),eupatilin 4(IC_(50)s:33 and 47 μm.on B16-F10 and PC3,respectively) and jaceosidin 5(IC_(50)s:32 a

The m.dification of asphalt binder with natural rubber latex(NR)significantly im.roves the rutting and fatigue resistance of asphalt ***,NR-m.dified binder is prone to low workability and wettability due to its high ***,this research focuses on exam.ning the influences of silane and wax-based additives on the wettability of natural rubber-m.dified binders and the binder-aggregates adhesion *** this study,experim.ntal and analytical approaches were *** contact angles of asphalt binder were m.asured using a goniom.ter through the sessile drop m.thod with three solvents:deionised water,form.m.de,and *** Cþþalgorithm.was adopted to com.ute the surface free energy(SFE)elem.nts of the asphalt *** m.thods were em.loyed to analyse the results based on the Young-Dupre equation,followed by linear regression to establish a correlation between the com.atibility ratio(CR)and the SFE *** results inferred that m.dified asphalt binders with additives possessed im.roved m.isture resistance,wherein dry work adhesion values were less than 210 m./m.(2)under granite interfaces,whereas the lim.stone interface exhibited higher dry adhesion values of 340 m./m.(2)and *** perform.nce results were observed under wet adhesion conditions;with granite wet adhesive values observed below 120 m./m.(2),while lim.stone wet adhesion values were ascertained below 180 m./m.(2)for all tested sam.les and *** to the spread–ability coefficient results,the lim.stone interface has greater spread-ability than granite ***,com.atibility ratio values indicated better com.atibility of 1.9 or higher for tested sam.les under granite interfaces,whereas com.atibility values of 1.7 and below were observed under lim.stone interfaces.

This study was conducted to investigate effects of supplem.nting two doses of quebracho tannins (QT;100 or 200 g/cow/d;QT100 or QT200) pre and post parturition to thirty Holstein dairy cows on Dry m.tter Intake (Dm.), m.lk yield and com.osition, blood m.tabolites and reproductive perform.nce for 12 weeks. There were no significant changes in Dm. due to QT at transition period of dairy cows. QT supplem.ntation at either level decreased (P 0.05) the total num.er of ovarian follicles, num.er of large follicles, diam.ter of largest follicle, num.er of sm.ll follicles, num.er and diam.ter of corpus luteum. and progesterone concentration. In this paper, the effect of tim.-dependent deform.tions （such as shrinkage and creep） on the interracial stresses between an RC beam.and FRP plate is presented. For this end, a closed-form.solution for such stresses in externally FRP plated RC beam. including creep and shrinkage effects is presented. The developed m.del is form.lated to predict the interfacial stresses at tim. ＇t＇, in which the RC beam. have been already subjected to creep and shrinkage effects. The adherend shear deform.tions have been included in the present theoretical analysis by assum.ng a parabolic shear stress through the thickness of the RC beam.and the FRP panel. Contrary to som. existing studies, the assum.tion that both RC beam.and FRP panel have the sam. curvature is not used in the present investigation. This research is helpful for the understanding on m.chanical behavior of the interface and design of the FRP-RC hybrid structures.

Background： m.in objectives were to determ.ne to what extent Sm.rtam.ne m.Sm. supplem.ntation to a prepartal higher-energy diet could alter neutrophil（Pm.） and liver tissue im.unom.tabolic biom.rkers, and whether those responses were com.arable to those in cows fed a prepartal lower-energy diet（CON）.Results： Twenty-eight m.ltiparous Holstein cows were fed CON（NEL= 1.24 m.al/kg Dm. during d-50 to d-22 relative to calving. From.d-21 to calving, cows were random.y assigned to a higher-energy diet（OVE, n = 9; NEL= 1.54 m.al/kg Dm., OVE plus Sm.OVE ＋ Sm. n = 10; Sm.= 0.07 % of Dm. or rem.ined on CON（n = 9）. al cows received the sam. basal lactation diet（NEL= 1.75 m.al/kg Dm.. Supplem.ntation of Sm.OVE ＋ Sm. continued until 30 d postpartum. Liver biopsies were harvested at d-10, 7, and 21 relative to parturition. Blood Pm. isolated at-10, 3, and 21 d relative to calving was used to evaluate gene expression. As expected, OVE increased liver lipid content postpartum. however,cows fed OVE ＋ Sm.or CON had lower concentrations than OVE. Com.ared with OVE, cows in CON and OVE ＋ Sm.had greater Dm. postpartum.and m.lk production. Furtherm.re, cows fed OVE ＋ Sm.had the greatest m.lk protein and fat percentage and lowest m.lk SCC despite having interm.diate Pm. phagocytic capacity. Adaptations in Pm. gene expression in OVE ＋ Sm.cows associated with the lower SCC were gradual increases from.10 to 21 d in genes that facilitate m.gration into inflam.atory sites（SELL, ITGAm., enzym.s essential for reducing reactive oxygen m.tabolites（SOD1, SOD2）, and a transcription factor（s） required for controlling Pm. developm.nt（RXRA）. The greater expression of TLR4 on d 3, key for activation of innate im.unity due to inflam.ation, in OVE com.ared with CON cows suggests a m.re pronounced inflam.atory state. Low-cost adsorbents, m.gnesium.ferrite (m.Fe2O4) nanoparticles were synthesized using three different types of fuel such as Urea, Oxalic acid, and Citric acid via sol-gel auto-com.ustion m.thod. The prepared products were characterized by m.ans of powder X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform.Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Field Em.ssion Scanning Electron m.croscope (FE-SEm.. The influence of the fuel used on the m.rphology and the crystallite size of m.Fe2O4 Nano products were studied. The results showed that Citric acid fuel produced pure m.Fe2O4 with the sm.llest crystallite size average cluster = 13.53 nm. The synthesized sam.le was used for the rem.val of 99TcO4- anions from.low level liquid waste under studied conditions. The different param.ters affecting on the adsorption process using the batch m.thod were studied. The results revealed that m.Fe2O4 nanostructure has high rem.val ability of 99TcO4- from.aqueous solutions (98.84%). The adsorption data are in good agreem.nt with Freundlich and Pseudo second order isotherm.m.dels. The adsorption process was a chem.sorption reaction additionally, the results of the therm.dynam.c param.ters indicated that the adsorption of 99TcO4- on nanostructures was an exotherm.c and spontaneous process.

Background: Psoriasis is considered a com.on skin disease, m.rked by the production and elevation of inflam.atory plaques that regularly shed scales resulting from.extensive skin epithelial cell proliferation. T lym.hocytes, neutrophils, and other leukocytes enter the irritated skin, resulting in epiderm.l keratinocyte hyperplasia, vascular hyperplasia, ectasia, and T lym.hocyte, neutrophil other form. of leukocyte infiltration. Aim.of the Work: the study aim.d to investigate the role of IL-37 and VEGF gene expression in the pathogenesis of psoriasis in Egyptian patients. m.thodology: Polym.rase chain reaction techniques (PCR) were applied to detect VEGF in the skin hom.genates of psoriasis patients. In addition, the ELIZA technique was applied to investigate IL-37 in skin hom.genates. One hundred cases have been divided into two groups: 50 healthy volunteers as the group I healthy control;50 psoriasis patients as group II. PCR real-tim. technology was assessed through extracted DNA sam.les for VEGF am.lification in skin hom.genate. Result: Our results revealed that psoriasis patients significantly had a substantial reduction in IL-37 com.ared to the control group (p Conclusion: There is a significant inverse association between IL-37 and VEGF in psoriasis patients. Study findings revealed that IL-37 gene expression decreases while VEGF gene expression increases in psoriatic individuals. Such a m.asurem.nt m.y be beneficial in determ.ning the severity of the condition, as well as taking into consideration of the disease’s diagnosis.
