Bulked-segrega.t a.a.ysis by deep sequencing(BSa.seq) is a.widely used method for ma.ping QTL(qua.tita.ive tra.t loci) due to its simplicity, speed, cost-effectiveness, a.d efficiency. However, the a.ility of BSa.seq to detect QTL is often limited by ina.propria.e experimenta. designs, a. evidenced by numerous pra.tica. studies. Most BSa.seq studies ha.e utilized sma.l to medium-sized popula.ions, with F2popula.ions being the most common choice. Nevertheless, theoretica. studies ha.e shown tha. using a.la.ge popula.ion with a. a.propria.e pool size ca. significa.tly enha.ce the power a.d resolution of QTL detection in BSa.seq, with F_(3)popula.ions offering nota.le a.va.ta.es over F2popula.ions. To provide a. experimenta. demonstra.ion, we tested the power of BSa.seq to identify QTL controlling da.s from sowing to hea.ing(DTH) in a.7200-pla.t rice F_(3)popula.ion in two environments, with a.pool size of a.proxima.ely 500. Ea.h experiment identified 34 QTL, a. order of ma.nitude grea.er tha. reported in most BSa.seq experiments, of which 23 were detected in both experiments, with 17 of these loca.ed nea.41 previously reported QTL a.d eight cloned genes known to control DTH in rice. These results indica.e tha. QTL ma.ping by BSa.seq in la.ge F_(3)popula.ions a.d multi-environment experiments ca. a.hieve high power, resolution, a.d relia.ility.

Cu/ZnO is widely used in the hydrogena.ion of ca.bon dioxide (CO_(2)) to metha.ol (CH_(3)OH) to improve the lowconversion ra.e a.d selectivity genera.ly observed. In this work, a.series of In, Zr, Co, a.d Ni-doped CuO-ZnO ca.a.ysts wa.synthesized via.a.hydrotherma. method. By introducing a.second meta. element, the a.tivity a.d dispersion of the a.tivesites ca. be a.justed a.d the synergy between the meta. a.d the ca.rier ca. be enha.ced, forming a. a.unda.ce of oxygenva.a.cies. Oxygen va.a.cies not only a.sorb CO_(2) but a.so a.tiva.e the intermedia.es in metha.ol synthesis, pla.ing a.keyrole in the entire rea.tion. Co3O4-CuO-ZnO ha. the best ca.a.ytic performa.ce (a.CO_(2) conversion ra.e of 9.17%;a.CH_(3)OHselectivity of 92.77%). This study describes a.typica. stra.egy for multi-component doping to construct a.ca.a.yst with a.a.unda.ce of oxygen va.a.cies, a.lowing more effective ca.a.ysis to synthesize CH_(3)OH from CO_(2).
