Novel heteropolycyclic nitrogen systems bearing fluorine substituted pyrazolo[3,4-d] pyrimidine moiety have been synthesis by the interaction between N’-heteroaryl guanidine 4 with polyfunctional π-acceptors in different media and condition. The structures of the synthesis compounds were established by spectroscopic analysis and evaluated as antifungal probes in various concentration.

We have calculated the Zeeman-fine energies of atomic Lithium (Li) by using the varying effective Landé g-factor method. We take the principle quantum number in the range;(2 ≤n ≤10 ). For this range we find 26 different energy values and 325 wavelengths some of which are the same. The Doppler shift is found to be Δλ=±0.004λ. The Doppler shift-corrected wavelengths are in perfect agreement with the observed (NIST) values for atomic Li.

Effect of Optimization of Hemodialysis on Ophthalmological Variables in Patients with End Stage Renal Disease

Background: Conventional hemodialysis (HD) used in treating end stage renal disease (ESRD) can result in multiorgan insult including the eye-owing to the resultant reperfusion after the ischemic event. Optimization of HD can be done using a process called remote ischemia which includes applying cycles of brief, nonlethal ischemia followed by reperfusion to one limb. This method sends signal to the end organs to prepare themselves for the upcoming ischemia thus preventing their injury. Aim: To evaluate the effect of remote ischemia preconditioning in HD on ophthalmological variables. Patients and Methods: A pre-post interventional analytical study conducted on patients receiving hemodialysis. Remote ischemia preconditioning was done before each HD session incorporating 3 cycles of alternating ischemia and reperfusion (5 minutes each) performed in the upper limb using sphygmomanometer cuff. Ophthalmic examination was done at baseline and 3 months after HD optimization. Assessment was done half to one hour pre- and post-session for visual acuity, corneal, conjunctival deposits, tear break up time (TBUT), anterior chamber depth and central macular thickness. Results: The study included 50 eyes of 25 patients with almost equal gender distribution and mean age of 37.52 ± 9.824 years. They were maintained on hemodialysis for median 10 years (range 3-25 years). The commonest cause of ESRD was hypertension. The studied ocular parameters showed insignificant change after pre-conditioned HD except for TBUT that was statistically longer (p = 0.018). Conclusion: Optimization of hemodialysis using remote ischemia does not seem to have significant ocular effect apart from prolonged TBUT. .

Toluene was alkylated with methanol in a flow type reactor at temperatures between 300 and 500 °C using H-ZSM-5 zeolite, 0.2%Pt/H-ZSM-5 and hydrofluorinated 0.2%Pt/H-ZSM-5 with HF concentrations of 1.0%, 2.0%, 3.0%, or 4.0%. Pt primarily enhances toluene conversion, total xylenes production, and p-xylene relative to its thermodynamic equilibrium. As the concentration of HF increases from 1.0% to 3.0%, the catalyst activity increases because of the increase in the number of acid sites and their strength. Additionally, the surface area and Pt dispersion also increases. An advantage of increased HF doping is that the formation of voluminous trimethylbenzene (TMB) byproducts is inhibited. However, at a HF concentration of 4.0%, Al and Si are partially leached and then deposited mostly in the wider catalytic pores. This was determined by evaluating the pore volume distribution and we determined that reactivity inhibition was ob-viously present and was due to diffusion restriction.

Trace Elements Assessment in Human Nails in Eastern Sudan Using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy

In the present work, elements concentration in fingernails samples of volunteers of different ages (males, females) were determined using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) Perkin-Elmer, spectrophotometer. Fingernails samples of different groups were analyzed to determine the trace elements Ca, Mg, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Co, Zn and Pb. Standards materials were prepared for concentration assessment that adjacent to samples from two cities in different location in eastern province of Sudan for elements concentrations finding. In addition, samples of hands fingernails and toenails were analyzed for comparison and method validation. Consequently, the significant levels of elements concentration in nails samples of Jabiat residents compared to Port Sudan resident’s area due to soil dispersion are supporting the possibility of external contamination. The data of component matrix and rotated component matrix of varimax normalization using principal component analysis revealed important predictors of nails elements Mg, Mn, Fe, Cu and Zn concentrations in soil of both areas under study. However, the Pb, Ni, Ca, and Co are possible to be indication of different sources associated with environmental contamination. The significant correlation and principal component analysis of the elements of nails concentrations in the two categories supported the probability of different expose environmental contamination.

AIM:To assess the possible association between PTPN22(R620W) gene polymorphism and inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).METHODS:One hundred and sixty-four patients with IBD 105 Crohn's disease(CD) and 59 ulcerative colitis(UC) and 100 healthy controls were *** of the PTPN22 gene 1858C→T polymorphism was performed by restriction fragment length polymorphism-polymerase chain reaction with Rsa Ⅰ ***:The genotypic and allelic frequencies of(R620W) PTPN22 gene polymorphism reveal a significant association of the PTPN22 620-W allele with IBD,compared to the healthy control group(OR:17.81,95% CI:4.18-21.86,P = 0.00001).Nevertheless,nodifference in this polymorphism was found between CD and UC *** significant association was found between the frequencies of genotypes of the PTPN22 gene with either the clinical features such as sex,age,age at disease onset,and extent of colitis,or the production of serological markers(anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae antibody in CD and perinuclear anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody in UC).CONCLUSION:These observations confirm the association of IBD susceptibility with the PTPN22 1858T(620-W) allele in Tunisian patients.

This paper presents a design of a data processing circuit for receiving digital signals from front end-electronic board chips of a specific nuclear detector, encoding and triggering them via specific optical links operating at a specific frequency. Such processed signals are then fed to a data acquisition system (DAQ) for analysis. Very high-speed integrated circuit hardware description language (VHDL) algorithms and codes were created to implement this design using field programmable gate array (FPGA) devices. The obtained data were simulated using international standard simulators.

Modeling, predictive and generalization capabilities of response surface methodology (RSM) and artificial neural network (ANN) have been performed to assess the thermal structure of the experimentally studied catalytic combustion of stabilized confined turbulent gaseous diffusion flames. The Pt/γAl2O3 and Pd/γAl2O3 disc burners were located in the combustion domain and the experiments were accomplished under both fuel-rich and fuel-lean conditions at a modified equivalence (fuel/air) ratio (ø) of 0.75 and 0.25, respectively. The thermal structure of these catalytic flames developed over the Pt and Pd disc burners was scrutinized via measuring the mean temperature profiles in the radial direction at different discrete axial locations along with the flames. The RSM and ANN methods investigated the effect of the two operating parameters namely (r), the radial distance from the center line of the flame, and (x), axial distance along with the flame over the disc, on the measured temperature of the flames and predicted the corresponding temperatures beside predicting the maximum temperature and the corresponding input process variables. A three-layered Feed Forward Neural Network was developed in conjugation with the hyperbolic tangent sigmoid (tansig) transfer function and an optimized topology of 2:10:1 (input neurons:hidden neurons:output neurons). Decreasing supplies of high quality crude oil and increasing demand for high quality distillates have motivated the interest in converting natural gas to liquid fuels, especially with the present boom in natural gas proven reserves. Nevertheless, one major issue is the curtailment of costs incurred in producing synthesis gas from natural gas, which account for approximately 60% of the costs used in producing liquid fuels. While there are three main routes to convert natural gas to syngas: steam reforming (SMR), partial Oxidation (POX) and auto-thermal reforming (ATR). Significant new developments and improvements in these technologies, established innovative processes to minimize greenhouse gases emission, minimize energy consumption, enhance syngas processes, adjust the desired H2/CO ratio and change the baseline economics. This article reviews the state of the art for the reforming of natural gas to synthesis gas taking into consideration all the new innovations in both processes and catalysis.
