Forecasting Diabetes Patients Attendance at al-Baha Hospitals Using Autoregressive Fractional Integrated Moving Average (ARFIMA) Models

Diabetes has become a concern in the developed and developing countries with its growing number of patients reported to the ministry of health records. This paper discusses the use of the Autoregressive Fractional Moving Average (ARFIMA) technique to modeling the diabetes patient’s attendance at al-Baha hospitals using monthly time series data. The data used in the analysis of this paper are monthly readings of diabetes patients data covered the period January 2006-December 2016. The data were collected from the General Directorate of Health Affairs, al-Baha region. The autoregressive fractional moving average approach was applied to the data through the model identification, estimation, diagnostic checking and forecasting. Hurst test results and ACF confirmed that there is a long memory behavior in diabetic patient’s data. also, the fractional difference to diabetes series data revealed that (d = 0.44). Moreover, unit root tests indicated that the fractional difference of diabetes series level is stationary. Furthermore, according to AIC and BIC of model selection criteria ARFIMA (1, 0.44, 0) model shown the smallest values, hence this model was chosen as an adequate represents the data. also, a diagnostic check confirmed that ARFIMA was appropriate and highly recommended in modeling and forecasting this type of data.

The next-generation wireless networks are expected to provide higher capacity,system throughput with improved energy *** of the key technologies,to meet the demand for high-rate transmission,is deviceto-device(D2D)communication which allows users who are close to communicating directly instead of transiting through base stations,and D2D communication users to share the cellular user chain under the control of the cellular *** a new generation of cellular network technology,D2D communication technology has the advantages of improving spectrum resource utilization and improving system throughput and has become one of the key technologies that have been widely concerned in the ***,due to the sharing of cellular network resources,D2D communication causes severe interference to existing cellular *** of the most important factors in D2D communication is the spectrum resources utilization and energy consumption which needs considerable attention from research *** address these issues,this paper proposes an efficient algorithm based on the idea of particle swarm *** main idea is to maximize the energy efficiency based on the overall link optimization of D2D user pairs by generating an allocation matrix of spectrum and *** D2D users are enabled to reuse multiple cellular user’s resources by enhancing their total energy efficiency based on the quality of service constraints and the modification of location and speed in particle *** constraint also provides feasibility to solve the original fractional programming *** results indicate that the proposed scheme effectively improved the energy efficiency and spectrum utilization as compared with other competing alternatives.

Exogenous Selenium Mitigates Salt Stress in Soybean by Improving Growth,Physiology,Glutathione Homeostasis and Antioxidant Defense

The mechanism of selenium(Se)-induced salt tolerance was studied in moderately sensitive soybean(Glycine max L.)*** execute this view,soybean plants were imposed with salt stress(EC 6 dS m^(−1))applying *** other treatments,Se(0,25,50 and 75μM Na_(2)SeO_(4))was sprayed as co-application with that level of salt *** height,stem diameter,leaf area,SPAD value decreased noticeably under salt *** proline(Pro)level,together with decreased leaf relative water content(RWC)was observed in salt-affected *** stress resulted in brutal oxidative damage and increased the content of H_(2)O_(2),MDA level and electrolyte *** Se spray alleviated oxidative damage through boosting up the antioxidant defense system by increasing the activity of antioxidant enzymes such as catalase(CAT),peroxidase(POD)and glutathione reductase(GR),as well as by improving non-enzymatic antioxidants like glutathione(GSH)and GSH/glutathione disulfide(GSSG).The upregulated antioxidant defense system,restored Pro and leaf RWC,higher SPAD value conferred better growth and development in Se-sprayed salt-affected soybean plants which altogether put forth for the progressive yield contributing parameters and finally,seed *** different doses of Se,soybean plants sprayed with 50μM Na_(2)SeO_(4)showed better salt tolerance.

Gamma Radiation Measurements of Naturally Occurring Radioactive in Igneous Rocks and Its Radiological Complications

The concentrations of natural radioactivity were measured in igneous rock samples collected from albaha region in the south west of Saudi Arabia. A high purity germanium (HPGe) detector was used for analysis. The average activity concentrations for 226Ra, 232Th and 40K were 35, 31.52 and 843.63 Bq kg−1, respectively. The average absorbed dose rate was 70.86 nGy⋅h−1 with a corresponding average annual effective dose 0.09 mSv⋅y−1. The average radium equivalent activity value was 145.84 Bq⋅kg−1, lower than the international limit 370 Bq⋅kg−1. The external and internal indices average values were 0.39 and 0.49, respectively. The average results obtained in this study are lower than the average national and world recommended values, therefore, there is no health risk to the populace of the area. This study provides a baseline map of background radioactivity levels in the Saudi environment and will be used as reference information to assess any changes in the level background due to geological processes.
