strong>Objective:strong> To evaluate the correlation between residual renal function and hypertension in regular haemodialysis patients. strong>Background:strong> Initiating chronic dialysis treatment gives end-stage renal disease patients a new lease on life. However, the annual mortality rate in dialysis patients is ~20% and quality of life is substantially reduced. strong>Patients and Methods:strong> This study was carried out on a reasonable number of subjects on regular haemodialysis divided into two groups. All were given informed consent and, the study was approved by the ethics committee of Menoufia University. strong>Results:strong> There was significant relation between presence of residual renal function and hypertension in patients with esRD on regular haemodialysis, but the relation between residual renal function and control of hypertension is not statistically significant. 40% of group 1 were hypertensive, 66.7% of group 2 patients were hypertensive, the interdialytic weight gain mean was 1.42 in group 1 and 2.37 in group 2. Control of hypertension was achieved in 63.6% of group 1 patients by one drug, 27.3% patients by 2 drugs;however 9.1% of patients need 3 drugs to control their blood pressure, while in group 2 40% of patients were controlled by one drug, 45% with 2 drugs and 15% need 3 drugs to control blood pressure. strong>Conclusion:strong> There is significant relation between presence of residual renal function and hypertension in patients with esRD on regular haemodialysis, but the relation between residual renal function and control of hypertension is not statistically significant.

Aspects on the Mechanism of the 1-Phenyl-1<i>H</i>-pyrazolo[3,4-<i>b</i>]quinoxaline Formation

Condensation of D-glucose, o-phenylenediamine and N,N-benzylphenylhydrazine hydrochloride (NNBPHH) in a one-pot reaction, or condensation of 2-(D-arabino-tetritol-1-yl) quinoxaline and NNBPHH, gave 3-(D-erythro-glycerol-1- yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoxaline. The structure of the latter was determined by 1H NMR spectroscopy and by synthesis using phenylhydrazine hydrochloride instead of NNBPHH. Condensation of D-glucose and 4,5-dichloro-o-phenylenediamine gave 6,7-dichloro-2-(D-arabino-tetritol-1-yl)quinoxaline, which upon condensation with NNBPHH gave the corresponding 6,7-dichloro-3-(D-erythro-glycerol-1-yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoxaline. The structure and mechanism of formation of these compounds are discussed.

This study uses the dynamic conditional correlation to investigate how technology subsector stocks interact with financial assets in the face of economic and financial *** results suggest that structural breaks have diverse effects on financial asset connectedness and that the level of bond linkage increases when the trend *** see a growing co-movement between the technology sector and major financial assets when uncertainty is ***,our findings indicate that the connectedness response varies depe.ding on the type of uncertainty shock.

An eco-friendly,new,and controllable approach for the preparation of manganese oxide(a-MnO_(2))nanorods has been introduced using hydrothermal reaction for supercapacitor *** in-depth crystal structure analysis ofα-MnO_(2) is analyzed by X-ray Rietveld refinement by using Full Prof program with the help of pseudo-Voigt profile *** developed a-MnO_(2) electrode attains a remarkable capacitance of 577.7 F/g recorded at a current density value of 1 A/g with an excellent cycle life when is used for 10,000 repeated cycles due to the porous nanorod-morphology assisting the ease penetration of electrolyte ions into the electroactive *** diffusive and capacitive contributions of the electrode have been estimated by considering standard numerical packages in *** successfully assembling the aqueous symmetric supercapacitor(ssC)cell by utilizing the as-preparedα-MnO_(2),an excellent capacitance of 163.5 F/g and energy density of 58.1 Wh/kg at the constant current density of 0.5 A/g are obtained with an expanded potential frame of 1.6 ***,the cell has exceptionally withstood up to 10,000 cycles with an ultimate capacitance retention of 94.1%including the ability to light an LeD for 18 *** findings recommend the developed a-MnO_(2) electrode to be a highly felicitous electrode for the field of energy storage.

The Differential Quadrature solution of Reaction-Diffusion equation Using explicit and Implicit Numerical schemes

In this paper, two different numerical schemes, namely the Runge-Kutta fourth order method and the implicit euler method with perturbation method of the second degree, are applied to solve the nonlinear thermal wave in one and two dimensions using the differential quadrature method. The aim of this paper is to make comparison between previous numerical schemes and detect which is more efficient and more accurate by comparing the obtained results with the available analytical ones and computing the computational time.

An efficient Method to solve Thermal Wave equation

In this paper, an efficient technique of differential quadrature method and perturbation method is employed to analyze reaction-diffusion problems. An efficient method is presented to solve thermal wave propagation model in one and two dimensions. The proposed method marches in the time direction block by block and there are several time levels in each block. The global method of differential quadrature is applied in each block to discretize both the spatial and temporal derivatives. Furthermore, the proposed method is validated by comparing the obtained results with the available analytical ones and also compared with the hybrid technique of differential quadrature method and Runge-Kutta fourth order method.

Psychosocial Correlates of Motivation for Academic Accomplishment among University students

Motivation has been a concept of interest for behavioral and cognitive scientists for its significant contribution to human behaviors and conducts. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between intrinsic motivation to academic accomplishment (IMTA) and psychosocial wellbeing among university students in Jordan. Methods: cross sectional correctional design utilized to collect data from 218 university students in regards to motivation to academic accomplishment, social support, life satisfaction, optimism, and depressive symptoms. The results showed that university students in Jordan had low moderate level of IMAT, and that IMAT had positive association with perceived social support from family (r = 0.17, p r = 0.14, p r = 0.19, p None of the psychosocial factors were found to be significant predictor of IMATA, while age group and working status were significant ones (p eover, there was significant difference in IMTA in regards to age groups showing that 1st and 2nd year’s students had higher IMTA than their counterparts in higher academic levels. Implication for mental health counselors at the students’ health services and centers were discussed.

Assessment of Heavy Metals Pollution in the sediments of euphrates River, Iraq

Fourteen bed sediments samples were collected from the euphrates River in order to determine concentrations, seasonal, spatial and contamination assessment of heavy metals such as Pb, Cd, Zn, Cu, Ni, Co, Fe, Mn and Cr. The mean concentrations are as follows: 2249.47 mg/kg for Fe, 228.18 mg/kg for Mn, 67.08 mg/kg for Ni, 58.4 mg/kg for Cr, 48.00 mg/kg for Zn, 28.16 mg/kg for Co, 22.56 mg/kg for Pb, 18.91 mg/kg for Cu and 1.87 mg/kg for Cd. To assess metal contamination in sediments, sediment quality guidelines were applied. The mean concentration of Cd, Cu, Ni, Fe, Mn, and Cr exceeded the UsePA guideline. The metal contamination in the sediments was also evaluated by appling enrichment factor (eF), contamination factor (CF), geo-accumulation index (Igeo) and pollution load index (PLI). Based on enrichment factor (eF), the euphrates River sediments have very high enrichment for Pb, extremely high for Cd, moderate for Zn, significant to very high for Ni, very high to extremely high for Co, moderate to significant for Mn and significant to very high for Cr. According to contamination factor (CF), Cd and Cr are responsible for very high contamination. According to Igeo, the euphrates River sediments are moderately to strongly polluted by Cd. Based on PLI, all sampling sites suggest no overall pollution of site quality.

Myzus persicae(***)is now considered a threat to agricultural crops due to economic *** synthetic insecticides applied every year against ***,are reported to be unsafe for environment,humans,and beneficial ***,several species of Myzus have been found to develop resistance due to over application of these ***,it is required to find some novel insecticide that would be safe for the environment as well as for *** the current study,two major pure constituentsα-pinene andβ-caryophyllene were evaluated for their insecticidal potential against *** using a fumigant toxicity ***,impact ofα-pinene andβ-caryophyllene on expression of five different genes,e.g.,HsP 60,FPPs I,OsD,TOL and ANT responsible for reproduction,dispersion,and growth of *** has also been *** perform fumigant toxicity assay,five different concentrations(3.5,4,4.5,5 and 6μL L−1)ofα-pinene andβ-caryophyllene were *** concentration(LC)was calculated,and gene expression studies were executed through qRT PCR at LC30 ofα-pinene andβ-*** constituents demonstrated excellent fumigant toxicity effects against *** at all five ***,α-pinene shows significantly better results(98%)as compared toβ-caryophyllene(80%)after 72 h at 6μL L−1 of *** highest upregulation in expression was demonstrated at LC30 dose ofα-pinene in five in three out of five genes understudy(TOL,ANT,and FPPs I).Conversely,two genes HsP 60 and OsD demonstrated downregulation at LC30 dose ofβ-***,our results highlighted the promising insecticidal potential of both compoundsα-pinene andβ-caryophylleneby interfering with the reproduction and development related processes in ***,allowing us to recommend the phytoconstituents under investigation as an ecofriendly alternative to synthetic insecticides.

sustainable Guideline for Developing the e-Waste sector in egypt

The amount of electronic waste generated globally is alarming especially that it is on the rise. The impact of the generated amounts is not only environmental. The electronic waste sector is unregulated in most developing countries;this results in the informal sector being heavily involved in managing and handling it. Due to the lack of regulations, informal handlers are exposed to hazardous materials that affect both their health and health of the communities living in their proximity. Moreover, the informal sector involves illegal child and women labor under harsh conditions. In addition to the social impact, the lack of regulations leads to missing major economic opportunities associated with developing a recycling industry for the safe handling and material recovery from the generated e-waste volumes. electronic waste may contain up to 60 different materials including precious and rare-earth metals with estimated equivalent economic value of 48 billion euros. egypt is one the countries which lack policies and regulations dedicated to e-waste, hence the egyptian economy is missing the economic potential and job creation opportunities associated with developing the e-waste sector as well as facing major environmental and health challenges due to the improper handling of the generated amounts. This paper briefly reviews the current situation of e-waste in egypt. The paper then proposes an adapted guideline for the sustainable management of e-waste in egypt. The guideline is based on the international regulations and guidelines especially those of countries similar to the egyptian socioeconomic context. The produced guideline focuses on establishing a collection and recycling framework for e-waste in egypt with ePR at its center. The guideline also establishes a financing system to help foster the recycling industry in egypt while fulfilling the three main pillars of sustainability.
