Artificial neural networks(ANNs)are one of the hottest topics in computer science and artificial intelligence due to their potential and advantages in analyzing real-world problems in various disciplines,including but not limited to physics,biology,chemistry,and ***,ANNs lack several key characteristics of biological neural networks,such as sparsity,scale-freeness,and *** concept of sparse and scale-free neural networks has been introduced to fill this *** sparsity is implemented by removing weak weights between neurons during the learning process and replacing them with random *** the network is initialized,the neural network is fully connected,which means the number of weights is four times the number of *** this study,considering that a biological neural network has some degree of initial sparsity,we design an ANN with a prescribed level of initial *** neural network is tested on handwritten digits,Arabic characters,CIFAR-10,and Reuters newswire *** show that it is possible to reduce the number of weights by up to 50%without losing prediction ***,in both cases,the testing time is dramatically reduced compared with fully connected ANNs.

In this paper, the Adomian’s decomposition method has been developed to yield approximate solution of bacterial chemotaxis model of fractional order in a semi-solid medium. The fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. The method introduces a promising tool for solving many linear and nonlinear fractional differential equations.

Analysing access control policies is an essential process for ensuring over-prescribed permissions are identified and removed. This is a time-consuming and knowledge-intensive process, largely because there is a wealth of policy information that needs to be manually examined. Furthermore, there is no standard definition of what constitutes an over-entitled permission within an organisation’s access control policy, making it not possible to develop automated rule-based approaches. It is often the case that over-entitled permissions are subjective to an organisation’s role-based structure, where access is be divided and managed based on different employee needs. In this context, an irregular permission could be one where an employee has frequently changed roles, thus accumulating a wide-ranging set of permissions. There is no one size fits all approach to identifying permissions where an employee is receiving more permission than is necessary, and it is necessary to examine them in the context of the organisation to establish their individual risk. Risk is not a binary measure and, in this work, an approach is built using Fuzzy Logic to determine an overall risk rating, which can then be used to make a more informed decision as to whether a user is over-entitled and presenting risk to the organisation. This requires the exploratory use of establishing resource sensitivity and user trust as measures to determine a risk rating. The paper presents a generic solution, which has been implemented to perform experimental analysis on Microsoft’s New Technology File System to show how this works in practice. A simulation using expert knowledge for comparison is then performed to demonstrate how effective it is at helping the user identify potential irregular permissions.

Hepatitis C virus(HCV)-cirrhotic patients have the highest threat of developing hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and may be at risk of extra hepatic *** present study was designed to investigate CD133 and CK19 in HCV(genotype-4)-cirrhotic patients with/without HCC or extra hepatic cancer,to assess the degree of their correlation with cell cycle abnormalities and finally to assess the role of their combination as diagnostic tool for discrimination of cirrhotic patients with HCC from those with extra hepatic *** study included 77 HCV-cirrhotic patients and 20 healthy non-disease control *** were categorized histo-pathologically into:24 have only liver cirrhosis,26 with HCC,and 27 patients with extra hepatic *** cycle abnormalities,CD133 and CK19 were determined by flow cytometry ***133 and CK19 showed marked elevation in HCC and extra hepatic cancer compared with liver cirrhosis and control subjects(pellent diagnostic pa.el for discrimination of HCV-cirrhotic patients with HCC from those with extra hepatic cancer.

The Salvadora persica(***)*** stick,usually known as miswak,is still being em-ployed as an oral hygiene agent for plaque and gingivitis *** study aims to assess the antibacterial,antibiofilm,antioxidant,and phytochemical profile of *** *** ***-sica was purchased from a local market,grinded and extracted with petroleum *** disk dif-fusion,microdilution,and micro-plate assays were performed to evaluate the antibacterial and an-tibiofilm activities of the prepared extract at different concentrations against𝛽-lactam resistance Streptococcus *** radical scavenging 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)and stable radical cationic chromophore,2,2-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate)(ABTS)methods were used to determine their antioxidant *** and spectrometric analyses were performed using gas chromatography-mass(GC-MS)*** minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)of *** extract against𝛽-lactam resistance Streptococcus species ranged from 6.25 to 12.5 mg/*** maximum suppression of biofilm formation by *** extract was observed at MIC with a percentage of 68.66%,against Streptococcus *** *** ex-tract exhibited antioxidant activity with IC 50 of 20μg/mL and 35μg/mL from DPPH and ABTS,*** phytochemical characterization showed the presence of 22 compounds with ma-jor compounds;benzyl isothiocyanate(36.21%)and n-hexadecanoic acid(27.62%).The *** extract exhibited antibacterial activity against𝛽-lactam resistant Streptococcus species,showing a promising natural alternative that could be a treatment option.

Objectives:This study aimed to test the association between of type and number of D'Amico high-risk criteria(DHRCs)with cancer-specific mortality(CSM)in high-risk prostate cancer patients treated with radical *** and methods:In the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results database(2004–2016),we identified 31,281 radical prostatectomy patients with at least 1 DHRC,na.ely,prostate-specific antigen(PSA)>20 ng/mL(hrPSA),biopsy Gleason Grade Group(hrGGG)score of 4 and 5,or clinical tumor stage≥T3(hrcT).Multivariable Cox regression models and competing risks regression models(adjusting for other cause mortality)tested the association between DHRCs and 5-year ***:Of 31,281 patients,14,394(67%)exclusively harbored hrGGG,3189(15%)harbored hrPSA,and 1781(8.2%)harbored *** 2132 patients(6.8%)harbored a combination of the 2 DHRCs,and 138(0.6%)had all 3 ***-year CSMrates ranged from 0.9%to 3.0%when any individual DHRC was present(hrcT,hrPSA,and hrGGG,in that order),1.6%to 5.9%when 2 DHRCs were present(hrPSA-hrcT,hrcT-hrGGG,and hrPSA-hrGGG,in that order),and 8.1%when all 3 DHRCs were *** regression models and competing risks regression confirmed the independent predictor status of DHRCs for 5-year CSM that was observed in univariable analyses,with hazard ratios from 1.00 to 2.83 for 1 DHRC,2.35 to 5.88 for combinations of 2 DHRCs,and 7.13 for all 3 ***:Within individual DHRCs,hrcT and hrPSA exhibited weaker effects than hrGGG ***,a dose-response effect was identified according to the number of ***,the type and number of DHRCs allow further risk stratification within the high-risk subgroup.

Background: As the half-life of intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) is very low, it reflects parathyroid insufficiency within minutes to hours after total thyroidectomy. Therefore, iPTH level assessment in the postoperative period can be used to predict the development of hypocalcaemia. The optimal time point to measure serum iPTH is important for the accurate prediction of hypocalcaemia. Aim: This paper aims to evaluate the ability of iPTH as an early predictive marker of hypocalcaemia and determine which time iPTH is more able to predict postoperative hypocalcaemia. Method: This prospective observational study was conducted in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, BSMMU, Dhaka, from July 2020 to December 2021, with 67 patients who underwent total thyroidectomy. iPTH levels were measured on the day before the operation and at 1 hour, 4 hours, and 24 hours after the operation. *** levels were measured on the day before the operation and 1st postoperative day. All the data were compiled and sorted properly and were analyzed statistically. Results: Postoperative hypocalcaemia developed in 18 cases, with an incidence of 26.9%. Pearson correlation showed a significant correlation between postoperative iPTH at 1 hr, 4 h, and 24 hr with 1st postoperative calcium value. The Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was processed for the postoperative iPTH at 1 hr, 4 h, and 24 hr. The sensitivity, specificity, cut-off value, and mean AUC found 93.9%, 94.4%, ≤14.0, 0.988;95.9%, 94.4%, ≤09.5, 0.993 and 91.8%, 94.4%, ≤11.0, 0.993 respectively. Conclusion: iPTH can be used as an early predictor of post-thy-roidectomy hypocalcaemia. 4 hr iPTH showed more sensitivity and specificity for a cut-off value near the laboratory reference range.
