Optimization of chanterelle mushroom drying kinetics under heat pump dryer using Taguchi design method

The optimum drying conditions with regard to minimum color changes, high rehydration ratio and drying rate for chanterelle mushrooms is inadequately known. To address this problem, drying kinetics for chanterelle mushroom samples with sizes of 20 mm×20 mm×20 mm cube, 20 mm×20 mm×30 mm cuboid, and Ø40 mm×20 mm cylindrical shape were experimented. Drying air temperatures of 40℃, 48℃, and 56℃ at superfluous humidity and velocity of 2.2 m/s were used. Initial color pixels for each sample were determined using Note 8 Pro Xiaomi smartphone camera and image processing tool in Matlab R2019a. Triplicate experimentation was done based on L9 Taguchi orthogonal arrays with drying rate, specific moisture extraction rate, color change, and rehydration ratio being the response parameters. The drying rate increased from 1.1174 g/g∙min to 1.3478 g/*** as the temperature rose from 40℃ to 56℃. The mushroom cube had the highest drying rate of 1.2860 g/g∙min while the cylindrical shape had the lowest rate of 1.1764 g/g∙min. Similarly, SMER increased from 0.006 326to 0.013 27 g/kWh with the temperature rise. Contrary, SMER decreased from 0.006 92 to 0.013 63 g/kWh in cylinder to cube respectively. Color change was highest at 40℃ (13.49) and lowest at 56℃ (11.94). The mushroom cube had the lowest color change of 9.28 on average when compared to other shapes. Rehydration ratio was highest at 56℃ (3.824) as compared to 48℃ and 40℃. Additionally, the mushroom cube had the highest rehydration ratio of 4.55 on average as compared to other shapes. Temperature variation significantly influenced the drying rate and SMER. However, temperature variation had insignificant differences in color change and rehydration ratio. Mushroom shape variation had a significant difference in all the response variables tested. The increasing demand of water in the country highlights the need to introduce low-input and water saving technologies for agricultural sustainability and crop production,mainly in semi-arid region.A study was conducted to minimize deep percolation losses from the furrow bottom under two different irrigation treatments viz.(1)furrow bottom with plastic sheet(T1)and(2)furrow bottom without plastic Sheet(T0).The physical and chemical analyses of soil profile were taken at a depth of 0-80 cm before and after crop *** dry density of soil slightly increased(0.01 g/cm^(3))under both treatments,while soil pH decreased under *** average yield was 8332 kg/hm^(2) and 7575 kg/hm^(2),with 21.56 m^(3) and 31.09 m^(3) total volume of irrigation water applied under T1and T0,*** saving percentages of water under treatments were 52.22% and 31.00% under T1 and T0 respectively as compared to the saving of water under traditional irrigation ***,better performance,in terms of crop production and water saving,was obtained with use of plastic sheet integrated with bottom of ***,it is suggested that the furrow irrigation method with plastic sheet may be used to preventing moisture and minimize deep percolation losses from furrow bottom.

为了给红枣分级参数的选择及定量分级标准的制定提供科学依据,对新疆所产骏枣的主要特征参数进行测量和统计分析,研究了红枣各特征参数之间的相关性和各特征参数随等级的变化规律。通过聚类的方法,将红枣的8个特征参数分为5个类型,对根据不同特征参数进行分级所产生的参数误差进行了分析计算。试验结果显示,除密度外,红枣的各特征参数均对等级有显著影响,等级随特征参数标准偏差的减小而增大,各特征参数与等级之间存在显著的线性关系。各特征参数之间存在不同程度的相关性,轮廓面积和轮廓周长之间相关性最高,其次是轮廓周长和长度,除密度和质量、短径呈正相关外,密度和其他参数呈负相关。不同等级特征参数的平均误分率越高,分级效果越差;平均误分率越低,分级效果越好。密度的平均误分率最大,周长误分率最小。

Transcriptome analysis reveals immune-related genes in tissues of Vibrio anguillarum-infected turbot Scophthalmus maximus

Application of Synthetic Iron Oxyhydroxide with Influencing Factors for Removal of As(Ⅴ) and As(Ⅲ) from Groundwater

Synthesized iron oxyhydroxide was applied for the adsorptive removal of As(V)and As(III)from the aquas ***,this investigation highlighted the synergistic effect of calcium carbonate in conjunction with iron oxyhydroxide,resulting in enhanced removal *** experiment was conducted under various conditions:concentration,dosage,pH,agitation,and *** characterizations such as Brunauer Emmett Teller,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were implied to understand adsorption *** Langmuir model revealed optimal concentrations for As(V)=500μg/L at pH-5 and As(III)=200μg/L at pH-7,resulting in 95%and 93%adsorption efficiencies,*** adsorption capacities“qm”were found to be 1266.943μg/g for As(V)and 1080.241μg/g for As(III).Freundlich model demonstrated favorable adsorption by indicating“n>1”such as As(V)=2.542 and As(III)=2.707;similarly,the speciation factor“RL<1”for both species as As(V)=0.1 and As(III)=0.5,*** kinetic study presented a pseudo-second-order model as best fitted,indicating throughout chemisorption processes for removing As(V)and As(III).Furthermore,incorporating calcium carbonate presented a significant leap in the removal efficiency,indicating As(V)from 95%to 98%and As(III)from 93%to 96%,*** findings offer profound motivation for developing effective and sustainable solutions to tackle arsenic contamination,underscoring the exceptional promise of iron oxyhydroxide in conjunction with calcium carbonate to achieve maximum removal efficiency.

The surveillance of arsenic levels in the drinking water of primary schools and the assessment of the potential cancer-related health risks of children in Multan, Pakistan

To investigate the levels of arsenic(As)in the groundwater and drinking water of primary schools and their potential impact on human health is main objective of this *** assess risk,the following parameters i.e.,carcinogenic indices(CI),hazardous indexes(HI),carcinogenic risk(CR),and hazardous quotient(HQ)have been measured for both dermal and oral arsenic *** study has been focused on primary schools located in four tehsils of Multan,where water samples were *** levels,with concentrations ranging from 3.31 to 191 mg/l,exceeding the safe limit set by the World Health Organization(WHO)have been detected in 99.9%of the *** results show that arsenic content ranged from 3.31 to 191 mg/l,with 99.9%of the samples exceeding the World Health Organization's safe limit of 10 mg/*** CR and CI exceeded the USEPA limit of 10–6 in all four tehsils ranged from 2.6×10^(-6) to 9.4×10^(-6) and 0.00023 to 0.0009 respectively in both dermal and oral cases.,Multan Sadar(1.51,1.39)and Multan City(1.76,1.71)exhibited HI and HQ values that surpassed the threshold of 1.0,signaling a significant likelihood of chronic and cancer-causing health consequences for individuals who are exposed to polluted water causing *** findings suggest that the groundwater in the Multan district poses a significant health risk to humans due to high levels of arsenic *** contamination is associated with an increased risk of mortality from internal cancers(including liver,kidney,lung,and bladder),as well as a higher HI&CI incidence of skin ***,pregnancy outcomes are affected,with associations found between arsenic exposure and lower birth weight,and infant *** researchers propose that water supply organizations and educational institutions promptly take measures to ensure that the affected areas have access to arsenic-free drinking water for the well-being of students and residents.

Probing the Efficiency of PPMG-Based Composite Electrolytes for Applications of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell

Seasonal Abundance and Diversity of Birds of Prey and Owls in Al Wathba Wetland Reserve in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Inland wetlands in Abu Dhabi Emirate are wintering and stopover sites for migratory birds of prey. We conducted long-term regular monitoring surveys in Al Wathba Wetland Reserve (AWWR) from January 1995 to December 2022. Both diurnal and occasionally nocturnal surveys were undertaken to record the migratory raptors and owls in the Wetland Reserve. During the study, a total of 1282 regular monitoring visits were undertaken and 27 species of diurnal raptors and owls representing five families and three orders were detected. These represent 57% of the total species of birds of prey recorded in the UAE. Overall, 63% of all the species that we observed were Accipitriformes followed by 26% Falconiformes and 11% Strigiformes. We found that changes in mean daily temperature have a positive effect on raptor species diversity and abundance in the Wetland Reserve. The species encounter rate was higher in low temperature as compared to high temperature and overall regression equation was statistically significant F (4, 1126) = 8.49), p = 0.00). However, the numbers of raptors did not vary significantly across the years (p = 0.51). Western Marsh-harrier (Circus aeruginosus) and Greater Spotted Eagle (Clanga clanga) were recorded to be the most abundant species in the wetland reserve followed by Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus). However, the encounter rate of globally threatened Greater Spotted Eagle was detected to have significantly decreased since 2016. Moreover, 63% of the species detected were uncommon and rarely recorded such as 1) Saker Falcon 2) Lanner Falcon 3) Long-eared Owl & Merlin, which were the rare records from the wetland reserve. Furthermore, 27 years of regular monitoring in the wetland have yielded diverse diurnal raptors and owl fauna (H) = 0.83, (E) = 1.43 (Shannon Diversity Index). The results demonstrate that long-term monitoring surveys in arid environments are essential to determine the trends in the raptor populations and to document rare and globally
