Identification, pathogenicity, and fungicide sensitivity of Eutiarosporella dactylidis associated with leaf blight on maize in China

Maize(Zea mays L.) is an economically vital grain crop that is cultivated worldwide. In 2011, a maize foliar disease was detected in Lingtai and Lintao counties in Gansu Province, China. The characteristic signs and symptoms of this disease include irregular chlorotic lesions on the tips and edges of infected leaves and black punctate fruiting bodies in dead leaf tissues. Given favourable environmental conditions, this disease spread to areas surrounding Gansu. In this study, infected leaves were collected from Gansu and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region between 2018and 2020 to identify the disease-causing pathogen. Based on morphological features, pathogenicity tests, and multilocus phylogenetic analysis involving internal transcribed spacer(ITs), 18s small subunit rDNA(ssU), 28s large subunit rDNA(LsU), translation elongation factor 1-alpha(TEF), and β-tubulin(TUB) sequences, Eutiarosporella dactylidis was identified as the causative pathogen of this newly discovered leaf blight. Furthermore, an in vitro bioassay was conducted on representative strains using six fungicides, and both fludioxonil and carbendazim were found to significantly inhibit the mycelial growth of E. dactylidis. The results of this study provide a reference for the detection and management of Eutiarosporella leaf blight.

Background schistosoma japonicum is a parasitic flatworm that causes human schistosomiasis, which is a significant cause of morbidity in China, the Philippines and *** hupensis (Gastropoda: Pomatiopsidae) is the unique intermediate host ofs. japonicum. A complete genome sequence ofO. hupensis will enable the fundamental understanding of snail biology as well as its co-evolution with thes. japonicum parasite. Assembling a high-quality reference genome ofO. hupehensis will provide data for further research on the snail biology and controlling the spread ofs. *** The draft genome was de novo assembly using the long-read sequencing technology (PacBio sequel II) and corrected with Illumina sequencing data. Then, using Hi-C sequencing data, the genome was assembled at the chromosomal level. CAFE was used to do analysis of contraction and expansion of the gene family and CodeML module in PAML was used for positive selection analysis in protein coding *** A total length of 1.46 Gb high-qualityO. hupensis genome with 17 unique full-length chromosomes (2n = 34) of the individual including a contig N50 of 1.35 Mb and a scaffold N50 of 75.08 Mb. Additionally, 95.03% of these contig sequences were anchored in 17 chromosomes. After scanning the assembled genome, a total of 30,604 protein-coding genes were predicted. Among them, 86.67% were functionally annotated. Further phylogenetic analysis revealed thatO. hupensis was separated from a common ancestor ofPomacea canaliculata andBellamya purificata approximately 170 million years ago. Avalanche photodetectors(APDs) featuring an avalanche multiplication region are vital for reaching high sensitivity and responsivity in optical transceivers. Waveguide-coupled Ge-on-si separate absorption, charge, and multiplication(sACM)APDs are popular due to their straightforward fabrication process, low optical propagation loss, and high detection sensitivity in optical communications. This paper introduces a lateral sACM Ge-on-si APD on a silicon-on-insulator(sOI) wafer, featuring a 10 μm-long, 0.5 μm-wide Ge layer at 1310 nm on a standard 8-inch silicon photonics platform. The dark current measures approximately 38.6 μA at-21 V, indicating a breakdown voltage greater than-21 V for the device. The APDs exhibit a unitgain responsivity of 0.5 A/W at-10 V. At-15 V, their responsivity reaches 2.98 and 2.91 A/W with input powers of-10 and-25 dBm, respectively. The device's 3-dB bandwidth is 15 GHz with an input power of-15 dBm and a gain is 11.68. Experimental results show a peak in impedance at high bias voltages, attributed to inductor and capacitor(LC) circuit resonance, enhancing frequency response. Furthermore, 20 Gbps eye diagrams at-21 V and-9 dBm input power reveal signal to noise ratio(sNRs) of 5.30. This lateral sACM APD, compatible with the stand complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOs) process,shows that utilizing the peaking effect at low optical power increases bandwidth.

OBJECTIVE: To determine whether moxibustion had an anti-inflammatory effect on rheumatoid arthritis(RA) by regulating Annexin 1 expression and interfering with the phospholipaseA2 signaling pathway. METHODs: Thirty male sprague-Dawley rats were randomly categorized into five groups(six rats per group): blank control(CON) group, RA model(RA) group, moxibustion(MOx) group, Annexin 1 lentiviral intervention(RNAi-Anxa1) group, and Annexin 1 lentiviral intervention + moxibustion(RNAi-Anxa1 + MOx) group. The rats in the RNAi-Anxa1 and the RNAi-Anxa1 + MOx groups were injected with the lentiviral vector-mediated RNAi-Anxa1 into the rat foot pad. An experimental RA rat model was established by injecting Freund's complete adjuvant(FCA) into the RA, MOx, RNAi-Anxa1, and RNAi-Anxa1 + MOx groups. Rats in the MOx and RNAiAnxa1 + MOx groups received moxibustion treatment. After modeling, using moxibustion “shenshu(BL23)” and “Zusanli(sT36)”, each point is 5 times, bilateral alternating, once a day, 6 times for a course of treatment, between the courses of rest for a one day. A total of three treatment courses were conducted. Both bilateral pad thicknesses were measured using Vernier calipers on experimental days 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28. The expression of cPLA2α signaling in the synovium of diseased joints was observed using Western blot. The pathology of the rat ankle synovium was observed using hematoxylineosin(HE) staining. Interleukin(IL)-1β, IL-10, prostaglandin E2(PGE2), and leukotriene B4(LTB4) were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. REsULTs: Moxibustion increased the levels of Annexin 1 and decreased the inflammatory response in rats with RA. After increasing the expression of Annexin 1, the phosphorylated expression of cPLA2α was inhibited, the serum levels of IL-1β, PGE2, and LTB4 decreased, and the level of IL-10 increased.
